I called Simco's at 1509 Blue Hill Ave at 12:30am and my order was approximately $30.00. When I arrived at home; (1) the grill chicken wrap did not have all the condiments I requested and to make matters worst it was extremely soggy, the bread was wet and fluids dripping through everything. (2) Ordered two different flavors of slice pizza-guess what there was only one slice in the bag. (3) I called at 1:15am to informed them of the problem and no answered the phone. "A-OK" perfectly sums up how I feel about Simco's. The food isn't great: the dog was underwhelming, the chili tasted like it came out of a can, and the onion rings needed salt. However: the raspberry lime rickey is pretty amazeballs and the service was friendly if a bit brisk. They also gave my group an extra order of onion rings at no cost, so I appreciate that. We'll definitely come back, if only to try some of the other menu items and get me a milkshake. read more

This review is only for the fish sandwich. That's the only thing I've had on the menu. Not sure I want to try anything else, when one thing works, it just works. It's the only place around town I'll have a fish sandwich. It's huge! The fish is fried well, crunchy on outside moist on inside. You will always ask for extra tartar sauce because it's so much fish! I love the fried clams and onion rings..clams are big and taste so good, if you don't feel like driving to Quincy for Tony's Clam Shack, I prefer the American Legion location. I grew up on Simco's. This is my number go to place for a quick meal that taste good. True to the bone BOSTON, from the hot dogs, lime rickies, subs, seafood, fries, onion rings desserts and the list goes on. And the staff awesome service. I moved to NC but every time I go back home to the neighborhood I grew up in Mattapan, I make sure I go to Simco's for my shrimp plate and a drink, for a quick snack their hotdog...Love this place they are living legend, their history and nostalgia. I ordered a whole belly clam plate with fries. What a soggy mess, there was not a crispy piece among this disaster. My family has gone to Simcoes since I was a little girl, have always loved their food and have been well satisfied. I had it delivered by Uber Eats, but I had no problem with the delivery, it was the food. My food usually is delivered from their other location in Roslindale, never had a problem with them, I guess my mistake was ordering delivery from the Mattapan Simcoes. At first I was skeptical about his place because it looks like a run down old abandoned shop but after trying it out, I'd absolutely go back. This place has THE BEST fried clams I've ever had. I've lived in New England my entire life and nothing has compared. My sister and I shared one order of fried clams and a hotdog (literally a foot long). The clams themselves were huge and one order was big enough for us to share and have leftovers. The hotdogs are grilled just right with a toasted, buttered bun. I like Simcos on the bridge and have been going there for years but more than once the lady who answers the phone is very rude, ignorant and don't listen well. She was so rude on the phone so when I got there and she saw me because of the order, she had this funny look on her face because she knows she was rude. I explained to her in a very professional manner how rude she was and she kept telling me no she wasn't while again talking rude. Your in our community so you just can't come and think you can talk to people any way you want. She need to get it together and real fast. I wonder where are the people that were there before. Ugh. Disgusting. The ingredients are substandard, the grease is everywhere. This place is only good if you're drunk, because you'll be throwing it up in an hour anyway, which will improve the food's quality. I have been going to Simco's on the Bridge for almost 30 years. My personal favorite is a Chili Dog with onions. Everything on the menu is good but I usually stick to what they are known for HOT DOGS. I did take one star off because the prices seem to be getting a little steep. By the time I buy 2 dogs and a drink I am looking at 10 Bucks. I really love this place. I just wish it was a little more affordable. I just can't afford to eat there as often as I would like. read more

I've never been here before and have always seen long lines everytime I drive by. Today I decided to stop and finally see what the hype was about. Unfortunately I was let down tremendously. I ordered a plate of fish and chips and to my surprise it was $13 when I'm used to paying $8 in Randolph. So I thought to myself this better be really good for $13. When I opened the plate I was surprised at the portion and was pleasantly surprised. BUT! as soon as I took a bite of the fish I instantly wanted to throw up. There was no taste and a horrible after taste of rubber. I've never tasted fish so bad in my life. I was so hungry and all I had was a big plate if rubbery fish and average fries. I tried to season it but I couldn't get rid of the rubbery taste. I ended up tore if it out and wasting my money I couldn't force myself to eat it anymore. The prices went all the way up (that's why they won't tell u the price over the phone!!!) but the food gets worse, i don't get that part. A couple years ago the food was worth the money buuut its like... they just stopped trying. The bread is soggy sometimes, u have to tell them to double toast it. Used to love their steak n cheese but the last yes LAST time i got it it tasted raw, no seasoning nothing. I couldn't stomach it. I started just sticking to the hotdogs because everything else was either not as good as it used to be or cost too much. Then i started getting cold hotdogs/ broken hotdogs with too hard or wet fries that got soggy because of the hotdog foil. Before it was $7 for a basket. NOW ITS $9.00 for a hotdog basket so i hung up because i can make my own damn hotdogs! Lol im mad. They really got shitty over the past couple years.
