a grilled fish in foil

I order red snapper with yuca. When they gave me my food my fish was burnt so they told me they would make me another one. I waited and this is what i got home to. I order red snapper from many different places and I've never had it broken up and mushy and greasy like this. If the cook couldn't make it they shouldn't have plain and simple. I won't be going back again. If you want good Peruvian and snapper go to Tastee chicken in Waldorf!!! $21 in the trash

Love this place. Great tacos and quesadillas. Very reasonable prices. Large portions too, I never leave still hungry. I especially like the rice, simple but tasty. I hope this new location does well. No place to sit though, this is purely a carry-out establishment.

Silvestre Chicken is by far the best rotisserie chicken and Peruvian restaurant in the area. It's a must try!

This place is too good to be considered fast food. They need to just open a restaurant with seating.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious, especially the dessert! We were visiting a friend who recommended this spot, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, but even with a full house, it was still easy to have a conversation at the table. Overall, a great dining experience and a place we'd happily return to.

They have good drink options which was nice for a group which all had different tastes. We started with appetizers, including the chicken empanadas, the tuna tacos, and ceviche sampler. The chicken empanadas were good, if not particularly memorable. But had a nice crunch on the shell and the inside had a nice savory flavor and not dry. The tuna tacos, which didn't have the most appetizing color, was also tasty. The tuna was tender and balanced well with the crispy shell. The ceviche sampler was also delicious, each one having a different flavor profile. I liked the tigre de leche the best in terms of the acidity and brightness. I just wish the ceviche had some kind of vessel to eat it with. One of the ceviche had plantain chips which was nice but I wanted more. Without it, the texture is just one note. For the main dishes, we got the lomo saltado and the aji de gallina which are two, iconic Peruvian dishes. Both were just meh. The aji was the better of the two. The sauce was flavored well with the creaminess of the sauce not overwhelming the garlic and tumeric flavors. But the rice was SUPER dry, almost crunchy. The lomo saltado was even worse. The beef was overly cooked, some pieces were very sinewy and chewy. It was also overly salty and the veggie to meat ratio heavily favored the veggies and made the dish feel cheap. Overall, it was fine but given the options for Peruvian in DC, not sure this deserves 4 stars+.

Though what I really like about the place changed. When I first went all they offered was Chicken, Cole slaw, and fries. In a world of many option I actually thought this sent a message that we are so good we only offer a limited choice that's you will enjoy. Tbf the fries can't compete w McD or Chikfila Waffle fries but they were good. The service counter is modernized and they are efficient and friendly. The layout if the restaurant is still basic like the limited menu they used to have. No frills no gimmicks just good food. Still the same vibe The chicken was still very good. Other places are fairly close but Apollo Rico is just a touch better. The charred seasoning is evident. What tipped the scales for me in comparison to other places I've been is the green sauce. It liked fresh. It wasnt like other places where that has the consistency of ketchup it looked bright green and freshly made vs other places where it seems as if it was poured out a container.

We ordered a half chicken with yuca and beans as the sides. It was very quick, we got our food within seconds it felt like. The chicken was probably the most flavorful kind of Pollo a la Brasa that I have had. It wasn't too greasy either. Just very tasty. The beans were delicious!! I didn't think I would like them as much. The yuca was pretty good too. Nice and crispy. I do wish they had slightly more options for sides, maybe even an Arroz Chaufa. This is a no frills kinda place so don't expect anything too fancy. But it is clean! And that's what makes it more authentic and fun in my opinion! Will definitely go back if I'm in the area.

Flavors and spices were exactly what they should be. Chica morada was heavy on the cloves and decadent. The yucca was cooked perfectly and was HUGE pieces - and there were a lot of them. Everyone there was very friendly and they seemed to care a lot that I was enjoying my food. Absolutely recommend this place. Forgot to take pictures because I was so excited to eat. She was friendly and patient as we had the littles trying to decide what they wanted. I ended up with the 1/2 chicken and two sides. I had fried plantains and onion rings. It came out hot and recently cooked. The chicken was dry but able to eat. The fried plantains were really good. The onion rings were decent. My wife ordered the same but she got the yuca fries which were a little dry but the special sauce was good. Her other side was the sweet potato fries and they were probably the best we have had in awhile. The inside isn't much to talk about. They have TV to watch soccer sports. It's not to loud when we were there. It appeared to be clean for the most part.
