I came with my flight crew (just a couple of pilots in addition) and we just sat at the bar. I had the kale rotisserie chicken salad. The peanut dressing does have soy sauce so it is not gluten free, so they brought me a champagne vinaigrette instead. It was delicious. I got this during the cyclospora outbreak, because I'm a wild person now lol but they assured me they only get quality ingredients and super clean all veggies and fruit coming in. My pilots got the meatballs, creamed corn, and deviled eggs and they LOVED them.

The Smoked Trout Dip was really tame. I wish something about this dish other than the price set it apart from just canned tuna salad with crackers. The French Dip was pretty good. I appreciate they put the horse radish on the side, because I usually enjoy slapping on more. I wish it came with fries, but given how theyre charging for fries, this dish would've been like a steak dinner if they added the fries. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was the best tasting dish of the night. Crunchy fried chicken with some tasty cole slaw. This dish really stood out to us. The food and taste were pretty good, but the steep price tags were just steep for no reason. Its a bit extra, even for Aspen. The ambiance was fine, very tavern feel. But I didn't care too much for our inattentive waiter. Would I recommend this place? Very hesitantly. The food was decent, but be ready to pay for that Aspen tax.

Large menu but varied and you could find something for everyone. Small beer menu and not much on tap. Prices are very reasonable for Aspen. 1. Wings - Large in size and flavorful. The service was fantastic as well, and an added bonus is that J-Bar stays open later than many other spots in Aspen. Great food, great service, and an iconic atmosphere. The place has plenty of history and has been a social spot in Aspen for generations. The Old West vibe is still very much alive, which is rare in a city that has more hipster spots than anything else. My partner and I both enjoyed our cocktails. We sat at the bar, but there were plenty of tables too. Service was decent, if a little inconsistent. Our first server was fine but seemed somewhat checked out, while the second one randomly brought us bar snacks around our second drink (nuts, and they were delicious). Left me wondering why the first server didn't do the same. The cocktails are pricey, $20+ with a 22% gratuity automatically added to the check, but it IS Aspen after all. The local beers were fairly priced, which was a nice surprise.

The view is great, the food is perfect bc there is a wok bar, salad bar, hamburger/cheese steak grill option, grab and go food, a pizza station. The highlight though is the bar. Today a young girl with long dark hair "served" me and it was pretty abysmal customer service. I walked in seeing an ad that said there was a promotion through the app. I download tha app and can't figure out how to order it so I go to the register, I show her the code and ask her how to do this. She looks at me like I'm an alien and said you have to order it. I said ok, so how do I do that. She rolls her eyes and tells me I need to tell her that I want to order it. I mean if I'm asking you how to order this, isn't it obvious that I'm trying to order it? She first scanned it and said nothing. The. Told me I needed to order it. so I say. I'd like to order this She scans my code again, it doesn't work and then she says I have to order something else, I order a cookie. She says I have to order a qualifying purchase. I don't know what that means and the app isn't showing this to me. She isn't nice about it. I ask her to please help me. She tells me to order something. Embarrased that people are waiting behind me. I let the guy behind me go ahead so I can try to figure out how to order this app promotion. The guy takes awhile. I jumped over here because I had a 17 min break between the busses I'm transferring from. I no longer have time to order on time to catch a bus so I just order the cookie, she rings me up and then just looks at me. Then asks the person behind me for his order. I ask about the cookie and she looks at me with a look of what do you want from me? I tell her I'm trying to catch a bus, I mean it's why I only ordered that so I can go. she seemingly takes her time and finally gives me the hard cookie. I didn't miss my bus but I can see why they have such a low ratings. Basic customer service is severely missing. Had she had offered even just basic help, this could have been a positive experience and you'd have a customer that would pop in every time she's transferring busses. I have ordered here before and had better service which is why I gave it 3 stars.

We waited and waited and waited; then I pressed the order button again and was asked for my order - I said we ordered like 20 minutes ago - he said I'll be right back. Later the car hop came out with our order. Said she was new and didn't know the order sitting there who it belonged to so she let it set. She said the meal was on her, which was nice but we were still missing the fries. So much for sonics visits. The food was good; just lacking some customer service work!
