A little understaffed when my family and I went in. It was busy and filled up fast, but surprisingly enough the staff on hand managed everyone well. The ramen/appetizer combo is a good deal and is fun to share the appetizer. Ramen was good, standard noodles and toppings, broth was creamy and very good, pork chashu was thick and fatty, it like those thicker cuts served with ramen. My wife said it was her favorite bowl of ramen in our 6 years of being married and she's had a fair amount of ramen up to this point. Join the waitlist on Yelp before arriving! On as Saturday night at 6:30pm the wait was about 15-20 minutes but that wasn't a problem because the farmers market out front was happening. So it was nice to explore around while we waited. I wish more people did that because the staircase and the ten feet at the top you could I guess call a "lobby" was crowded with people waiting. Which its awkward because they just stare at you as you eat while they wait for a table to clear. I wish there was a waiting area downstairs. We got a pork bun, creamy broccoli, a bottle of soju, 3 ramens and a rice bowl for less than $90. I know creamy broccoli sounds weird, but trust me it's amazing. Since the inside seating area was a bit cold (strong A/C), we decided to sit on the patio which was warmer and more entertaining. My wife and I took my sister here for dinner here tonight after picking her up at Burbank airport. I parked at a private lot down the street and walked to this restrauant. They have a little stair to take you to the second level where it's for dining and there also a small elevator for people who are handicapped. We got seated pretty quick since they were not busy at all for a Monday night. My wife and I already knew what we wanted since we been to the other restrauant location before but our first time at this Burbank location. My sister never been to a Silverlake Ramen so we give her some recommendations. We started off with their spicy garlic edamame and then I got the Shoyu on Fire with chicken. My wife and my sister got the Blaze ramen with chicken as well. The edamame came out first and my sister along with my wife enjoyed it. It took our ramen a little while longer to come out because at other location, it would come out quick. My sister loved her Blaze ramen too for her first time and my wife is never disappointed with her Blaze ramen dish. After a long day of adventuring with friends, some of us decided to stop by silverlake ramen as some of them hadn't had it before. We barely had to wait as waitlisting was pretty quick as well. The interior at this location has a modern ramen shop feel to it which was slightly contrasting the original location of it being more close in general. While I wasn't the most hungry at the time, I ordered a shoyu ramen as I wanted something lighter. Personal preference for ramen you should always have pork instead of chicken for not just the texture alone. They gave me a hefty portion of pickled bamboo (menma) but it didn't feel as fresh. I've eaten ramen my entire life from its most basic form to some elaborate concoctions. For health reasons, I try not to eat as much ramen anymore, but dammit, it's been a long time before this meal! Would there be a silver lining in my bowl of ramen as I caught up with my friend!? PURCHASE Veggie Ramen Bowl w/Side Ghost Pepper Kimchi ($17.25 + $3.25): Because I was in the throes of Lent season when I basically gave up everything as a body cleanse, I chose this vegetarian option versus my usual tonkotsu ramen with pork broth and slices of chashu pork and an egg. Made with vegetable broth with a miso base, bean sprouts, corn, mushroom, tofu, broccolini, baby greens, kale, red cabbage and avocado that included an add-on of ghost pepper kimchi to add some kick, this was truly a healthier ramen which was just wrong! We were looking for dinner last night and decided to give silverlake ramen a chance. We ordered the Garlic truffle and the shoyu on fire. The portion size was okay, we both got pork with one piece in each bowl. The flavor was good but it wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked it to be. I got the garlic truffle and added chili paste to it. I couldn't really taste the garlic & if you're going to call it garlic truffle those flavors should be strong. The chili paste gave it the kick it needed and enhanced the taste. Now I don't think this would be my first pick next time I want ramen, but if I want gyozas this would be the spot. I didn't get a picture of them but they aren't your typical gyoza. These were rich in flavor and the texture was great . Garlic Truffle Ramen - the noodles had a starchy texture and not very good, the broth was light and not very flavorful yet oily/greasy. Didn't taste like Garlic-- or like it had much seasoning, got 1 piece of okay pork and half of a custardy egg. Don't feel it was worth $19, maybe like $13 at the most. With 39 locations around the country, the popularity of Silverlake Ramen has exploded. I've longed for a good Ramen chain, but unfortunately, this is not it. I had the Shoyu on Fire Ramen. Spicy clear chicken stock with shōyu, green onions, corn, fried jalapeños, seaweed, micro cilantro, lime & seasoned egg. It sounds good and looks good on the menu, but it wasn't. The broth was bland and not at all on Fire; there was no heat at all. The Spicy Tuna Cut Roll was loose and sloppy. It was made with great haste or by someone with very little experience, or both. The Grilled, Juicy Pork Dumplings were very greasy and a bit flavorless. I was really looking forward to a nice Ramen spot in this area, but unfortunately, Silverlake did not deliver. On the plus side, the service was friendly and helpful, and they did not add any hidden fees to the bill. Popped in here yesterday as it was a blustery and windy day outside and the idea of some warm ramen dripping down my throat seemed appealing! The staff were absolutely EXCELLENT! They were able to squeeze my partner and I into a table that's usually used for people waiting for to go orders. Which was nice of them as it helped us avoid any sort of wait. Now let's get to the food, we each ordered a can of pop and they have an amazing combo deal of ramen and an appetizer for $19. We decided to split the gyoza appetizer and since I wanted the truffle ramen (not included for the combo deal) it was the perfect choice. My review is more about the service at this location more than anything. About the service. I felt that the workers here have no roles and it seemed to be a bit unorganized. It didn't seem as if there was a designated host. We wrote our name down and when our turn came up, Worker #1 called our name, crossed our name off the list and said that they're cleaning the table and we'd be seated next. Worker #1 ended up walking away to do something. Worker #2 came along and called the name after us and proceeded to seat the party after us. After Worker #2 seated the party, she went on to do something else. I had to get the attention of Worker #3 to tell her that we had been forgotten, then Worker #4 walked us to our table. The food came out quite slow. My friend got his food before i did and he could've comfortably finished his food before i even got mine. I had to ask to check on my order, which when i looked over to the window was sitting on the counter. The tables to the left and right of us seemed to have issues with the service as well. Which goes back to my point that it doesn't seem like the workers have roles. Finally got to go to this Silverlake ramen. When I saw this here a few times I was shocked that they had gone and franchised the restaurant because I remember when it was just in silverlake and you had to fight the lines just to get a seat and back then it was more cozier and more welcoming but I guess that's just how it is now when you have a brand that can be profitable at a higher margin. Anyways, came here with the friends and we were the only ones there at the time so it was nice. Got the menu and there were so many additions and changes that I didn't even recognize or know what to get because it had been so long since I had been to the original one which was about 4 years. So I to be safe I got the classic with an extra chashu and an extra ajitama. In my photo it's not pictured properly because I dug into it like crazy haha also had an iced green tea which I love so much. Anyways the food to my surprise was and still is immaculate! The broth was flavorful and the noodles were boiled just right and the chashu had the right amount of texture to it. Not too soft and not too hard just right! I was already running late meeting my friend and had to get in their tiny elevator with my baby and the stroller to get upstairs where most of the restaurant was. The elevator button has to be pushed and it took a while to move up! We sat outside and they gave us a high chair. Place was nice and clean. Got edamame to start so baby could have some. Not the best experience... Shame on me for only glancing at their overall rating and not reading their elite reviews (which were mostly mediocre). Service was meh. Was not greeted when we arrived although we made eye contact with several servers. Someone should at least say, "we'll be right with you," instead of just letting us wonder will anyone ever get to us?!?! No one checked on us during the meal to offer more water either. It was hard to flag servers down. At one point there was no one on the floor at all. Where did the host/servers all go!? There were at least 3 on the floor when we arrived but when we needed someone there was no one available extending our wait time to get the leftover containers and check. They gave us the wrong protein in our tsukemen at first but quickly corrected the mistake once we told them. Pork in the tsukemen is extremely thick so it was hard to bite through. I appreciate the meat portion served but it was not enjoyable to eat. If it were thick and melt in your mouth tender there wouldn't be an issue. The bean sprout is way too much in that dish and ends up masking the lime juice in the noodles so take some out before you squeeze your slices! Tsukemen flavor was not bad. Have not had Tsujita in Sawtelle in years so though not the same here, broth was good enough. Just wish that lime flavor shined through more on the noodles! The spicy tuna on crispy rice was done well, presentation and taste were great! Not sure I would actually come back just for that appetizer because everything else missed the mark in some way. I was so excited to try this ramen place when it opened. And I finally got around to trying it. There are a variety of ramens to try, including some with chicken broth, and one vegan one made with miso. They also have appetizers, rice bowls, and desserts. Plus, they serve alcohol. Another nice thing is you can get a ramen combo, which basically gets you an appetizer for an additional $3. I had the spicy shoyu ramen which is made with chicken broth (I can't have pork). I chose medium heat and it was really good. I probably could have done full spicy though. The ramen came with a protein of your choice (I had tofu), corn, green onions, seaweed, lime, egg, cilantro, and braised jalapeño. Nice flavors. Everything tasted fresh and wasn't too hot temperature wise. Noodles were nice and firm with a bit of squish. Decided to try the dessert as well. I could cry. It was so good. The vanilla ice cream with the churros and then a chocolate sauce. Ummmm, I was in heaven. I'd go back just for that. It's hard to mess up churros, but believe it or not I've had some limp, non-crispy ones before. Rest assured that these churros are done right, though, and then some! With this being one of the newest additions to the Downtown Burbank landscape, it beckoned out to be tried as it is located in the vicinity AMC theaters. The location seems to be past it's "soft opening" period, though they still seem to need some work. The restaurant kept most of the major design of the previous pizza spot that was in the same space. The indoor dining room is cozy with doors that can be rolled up to have an open outdoor patio with a seamless flow. Now onto the food. Having had my fair share of ramen from various locales in LA, I don't get the rave review for the ramen here. The first issue came when trying to order a combo meal, which was clearly listed on the menu, to be told they no longer offer combo's on weekends. This struck me as a pure money grab since the menu clearly had no restrictions such as mentioned by the waiter, who mentioned they had yet to print new menus. Seeing that the menu has gone through a couple changes in the month they have been opened in not a great sign as the menu is more refined than other ramen spots. The classic ramen while presented well was underwhelming. The broth was warm versus hot, though had decent flavor. The noodles were Al dente and on the thinner side, but didn't stand out in any way. The pork pieces were generous though different from typical cha shu style pork. This was a very crispy version which was a nice change of pace and went well with the ramen. Though nothing about the dish left me wanting more and the portion size could have been a bit larger as I can't say I was full after. Lastly, the service left a lot to be desired. After receiving the food, the staff never came back to the table to check and see if anything was needed or to refill water. Considering there were 2-3 employees on the floor, and it was not overly busy, a bit inexcusable considering the whole restaurant would only seat about 30-40 people if every seat was filled. I'm not sure what the other reviewers who rave about this place are having, but clearly the ramen is not it. And if they think it is, they need to try some of the truly iconic ramen places throughout LA, including many which make homemade noodles. With a $15 min. price point for ramen, I can't see this establishment making a long run in this spot that has had constant turnover of restaurants. If you want to overpay for basic ramen, then this is the place for you. If you want something unique and high quality ramen wise, skip this establishment. read more

I WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS but here is my experience at silver lake ramen. If you live in Burbank or anywhere near Burbank, don't come to the silver lake ramen location at 175 E Palm Ave Burbank,CA 91502. Me and my family came to this Silver Lake Ramen to get something to eat and my mom who is 85 years old has a hard time getting up stairs and down so while we were waiting to be seated, a worker came to us and said " You guys have to leave because we are going to seat somebody right now." But my mom is a handicapped elderly woman that feels pain when climbing down stairs so I tried to explain that but they told they to leave still. I will tell you all this but DONT come to this location if you have an elderly woman or man with you and you are on the waiting list. read more
