I found a bunk bed design (from Jen Woodhouse) and sent them a material list and a quote request. They got back to me in 48 hours, for a cost within $10 of the big box store estimate. We took the quote to the Silver Spring location and someone helped us find all the pieces and order up the wood from their warehouse. Everything was in stock, which was incredible given today's circumstances. It was almost too easy. They helped load the wood into the back of my van and we went home. Wood had two imperfections I found upon arrival at my home; I sent an email and they quickly responded to say they'd replace it. I think the key to my happy visit (and my first) was being prepared. Don't show up waffling on what you want. Do your homework, watch YouTube videos about what moulding you want, or what size door you need, make a detailed material list, and THEN go to these guys. And in general *pulls out soapbox,* don't go to a hardware store and expect service like you're at a furniture store. TW Perry has big contractors coming through all day, which should be your first giveaway that people who know what they're doing go with them. Contractors don't need their hands held - they need reliable products. If you don't know what you're doing, go to the big box store. You'll be sure to find employees there who also don't know what they're doing. I called the location and they told me that if it didn't arrive by noon, that I could come pick up another one, which I appreciated. However, my order did arrive shortly after. The customer service I received was pleasant. However, HD needs to fix this delivery issue with Door Dash. They sent 5 ppl to pick up one order. I have no idea which driver actually delivered it. So the original order could have been stolen. I'm not sure if the manager sent it with the last driver or not. We don't have visibility because we order through HD, but the driver is calling the customer asking us to call DD. All of that should be handled without the customer's involvement directly with HD. I didn't choose to deliver through DD.

Think tape and packaging extras. I felt awkward coming back to this section. When I approached this section, there were a handful of employees that were just kind of taking a break in this area. Right in front of what I needed to look at. I get it, some downtime on the job warrants you being able to shamble about. But not a single one of them would move so I could browse or offer to help. I go back to the app, type in shipping tube again and it directs me now to a different section completely in the store. It took me to tubes, but the tubes you would use to pour cement into. I drove one of the senior citizens to pick up something from there (10/12/2026) and could not believe what I experienced. -Only one elevator was working, -neither escalator was operational, -the self service line was closed to only online orders, and -every line in the store was backed up midway to the back of the store. But, more importantly there were so many senior citizens with different handicaps standing and waiting in these long lines. You would have thought that it was the end of the world. I inquired from a staff member what was going on. They explained that they have a new computer system and have been waiting for the IT department to come and get it fully operational since last Wednesday (10/7). Are you kidding me? So, you are telling me that this billion-dollar corporation can't get IT people out to fix a new system you choose to implement. Along with fixing the elevators and escalators for those who are handicapped? This is unacceptable. The estimate was $250 for carburetor cleaning with a 45 day warranty. I declined their service but Natalie refused to give me my $200 and mower back. She said I can use the money towards a new mower. She refused to give me my money or mower. There was a giant sign behind her that said $100 diagnostic fee, but Natalie can't look up or read.
