This establishment NEVER fails us. From always being on time with your reservation too always cooking your meat to perfection too always providing great service. The value of what you get with your order with 'sides' is not done anywhere else around. Once you decide on your meat, you get a baked potato, cowboy beans, salad bar and rolls with your meal. All included and no 'extra' charges. They cook the 'BEST' steaks and prime rib in town. They pump the people though at an excellent pace as it is always very busy with customers. Highly recommend making reservations or you will be waiting for a bit. It's a 'True' Arizona 'Cowboy Restaurant' with great friendly service and amazing food! If you have not experienced this Old Gem' as of yet you are truly missing out on a great dining experience!

When someone asks for a steak house recommendations in Tucson, this is usually one of the first places that pops up so ive always wanted to try it. I get why people like this place. It's not a fancy steak place but serves good quality meat.and the having salad bar is always nice. I love the South Western feel of this restaurant and it particularly felt nice coz I went there after watching the rodeo. Service is great and I do agree with many people that this place is a true Tucson staple that you have to try at least once.

Ribs were spectacular!! Service was adequate. Beans and baked potato were perfect. Salad bar had too few items - no carrots or hard boiled eggs or olives Beer was really good - Sonoran Saddle. Great atmosphere and grill inside was cool!!

A warm and rustic atmosphere was created inside the Silver Saddle Steakhouse and Tapadera Lounge. In keeping with old southwest tradition, a custom steel and brick mesquite wood grill and pit were built. An antique buggy wheel with welded horseshoes attached serve to raise the cooking grill to appropriate levels above the smoky mesquite wood fire. Burning Arizona's native mesquite wood lends an unmatched smoke flavor to the food, plus this amazing wood, while burning, can produce temperatures which can exceed 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, so we suggest that no one stand too close to our open fire. Excellent steaks, prepare to order. Service is top notch. Delicious tasting steaks. Thick and juicy! The place is clean and inviting. One of our favorite steak houses. Give it a try.

I could not make up my mind where I wanted to celebrate Mother's Day dinner, and of course I had not made a reservation anywhere. My kids have never been to Silver Saddle and I wanted to share this dining experience with them. I called to see if they were accepting walk ins. They said yes but unsure of the wait time depending on the time we arrive. We went to mass and heading over around 6pm. We had a 30 min wait and an amazing dinner and service! I love that it is still a rustic steakhouse with the open mesquite grill inside! The smell is so incredible. Our server was so nice and patient since we haven't been in over 20 years at least. Their menu has so many nice choices and depending on your meal it may include so many extras! We really enjoyed our chicken and steaks! They all were cooked to perfection! Baked potatoes were delicious along with the soup and fresh salad from their salad bar. Our dinner rolls were excellent too. Thank you for a memorable dinner with my family!

What a great place to eat if you live in Tucson or you're visiting like me. My aunt loves this place and I've never been before so why not? The steaks are cooked to order so it comes hot off the grill to your table and I love it! My steak was cooked medium rare and it was delicious. This restaurant has been around for 30 years I believe and it's worth every penny and worth the wait if there's a line. We went around 4pm and it shortly became packed inside, the service was great and fast. We left with our bellies full and no room for dessert. It is an older restaurant so the booths are made for smaller sized people, so if you are a little chunky definitely sit at a table. They have a bar area as well, and they have plenty of space for large parties, if you do have a party of 5 or more call or go online to make a reservation. I liked that the meal came with either a salad bar or a soup, I would've loved to eat more than one plate of salad but I'm glad I didn't because I got so much food. I had a baked potato, and a 10oz NY steak, it also came along with baked beans and dinner rolls. I highly recommend eating here you'll enjoy every bite of food. And come with an empty stomach.

We had an unexpected long visit to the nearby VA center and were starving and looking for something close by. I saw the sign for the steakhouse and that fit the bill. We knew we were getting something special with the throwback classic western steakhouse vibe, and seeing the fire pit grill sealed the deal! The Hubbs got the sampler and I got the bone-in ribeye special. Everything was fabulous. I love the yeasty soft pillows of rolls (they are not stingy about bringing more!) They have a decent salad bar, but we both opted for the French onion soup, which was cheesy good. My only suggestion is to add beef stock to the soup base as it was very pale - but still full of onion goodness. We ended up taking more than half our meals home, so although a little pricey, we got two meals out of it. Our server was great - very efficient. Refills on our water and lemonade appeared without asking. I love that! Lots of staff to remove soiled plates. Very nice. We will be back.

We came here for dinner about 4:30 on a Friday night. A lot of customers were rocking cowboy hats and we even saw some boots with spurs. I ordered some drinks along with the 10 ounce NY strip steak. The steak comes with a trip to the salad bar, which was awesome. My steak arrived with a loaded baked potato and cowboy beans plus bread. My steak was cooked medium rare and think thy deliver it deliberately unseasoned so you can do it your self. I just added a dash of salt and it was perfect. The potato was delicious and the beans were super tasty. For $34 I received a lot of food, a steak any bigger would have been too much for me. The interior is no frills cowboy themed steakhouse. I shall return when in Tucson again.

This place is **Exceptional**! Karen our server never missed a beat. Every trip to the table she never walked away empty handed. Even if it meant a piece of straw paper! She truly was the best. Management, take note & Clone her. Started with "Trio" app of Zucchini, mushrooms & onion rings. All great! Dinner was perfect. Perfectly cooked, served etc., even down to a *cold salad fork* the way it should be. Salad bar h ad such a great selection. My prime rib couldn't of been done any better. The T-Bone steak for my Wife, again cooked perfect! Baked potatoes were the bomb!! Fresh Scallions, sour cream & butter. Even the skins of the potato were done right! Rolls & butter, where do you get them? Outstanding! We took desserts home. Cheesecake & apple pie. Delish. Table $137+ Tip. Worth every penny & we'll be back for sure! Thanks so much!! Finally, great service, food and prices.

This is an old school Route 66 style western steak house. In business for decades and unchanged. Steaks cooked over an open mesquite wood fire , simple salad bar with real house made dressing (blue cheese A+) simple side of a well prepared baked potato and bread. Our server Faith was fantastic, with great recommendations and a convincing speech on why we should try the mud pie for dessert (we did). We had a T Bone and a bone in ribeye- cooked to absolute perfection my a real pit master. Tender and full of flavor, just needed the requisite salt and pepper for me. The have a shaker of the secret house seasoning on the table and it was great on the baked potato. This place is rough saw wood and black booths. Old west for sure. If you are looking for linen table clothes and table attendants, probably not your spot. Highly recommended. Hidden gem

I'm a local and I find it hard to get a good steak so usually just end up grilling one at home. But my friend and I wanted to try this place because we know it's iconic to Tucson and she wanted to take me out for my birthday. So we made reservations for Sunday when they opened for lunch, there was already a line at the door before they opened and it honestly didn't seem like they cared about the reservations they just sat everyone at that time. It's definitely a cowboy feel, if you've been to pinnacle peak id say the food and vibes are the same. Service was good! Never felt neglected and made sure we had our drinks refilled and food came out promptly We both ordered NY strip, baked potato loaded that included the bread and salad bar. The bread was actually REALLY Good I wish they gave more out or maybe they did and I didn't ask. The salad bar was very basic but they do seem to make their dressings in house. Let's get down to the main course, the steak now it was cooked to the correct temperature but when I say this is the most flavorless steak I've had I mean it. I'm pretty sure they just take the steak and cook it without any seasoning. The meat was tender and nice but seriously no seasoning. They do give you the ranch style beans which I don't really care for but the baked potato was nice and we got it loaded. Overall, it's very cowboy style and too bland for me. But I'm glad I finally got to try it.

It's unfortunate that we came in today and the quality has just taken a nose dive. But I'll start with the service, and it was great. Very attentive, answered all our questions, and overall great. The prime rib was still great. My parents and I split a cowboy cut, and it was enough for all 3 of us. Bread still soft, fresh, and delicious. Now, where they fell short. Two steaks were rough and dry. The Sampler Trio was just meh. They looked well done, but tasted OK, however that looks an taste is indicative of old oil. You can see the difference from a few years back to today. My nieces mac and cheese was both luke warm, and bland. I don't know if that's by design for kids, but Stouffer's has better tasting Mac and cheese. Hell, IKEA does too. Beer served in a glass which felt like it was just cleaned, ie: WARM GLASSS. Overall, I know we'll be back here because the prime rib is still a winner, but everything else was just mediocre today.

This was my first time trying this steakhouse, just off the freeway on a feeder road heading toward the airport -- so that should set the scene. The building looks like it's been around for a while, with lots of character, rugged décor, dark wood, and leather seating. Definitely has that old-school steakhouse vibe. Our server took our order and dropped off our food... and then completely disappeared. We didn't see him again, which was disappointing. You settle your bill at the front when you leave, so just a heads-up: don't accidentally dine and dash! We arrived after the lunch rush, so the place wasn't too busy, though a nearby group was celebrating a birthday and added fun energy. The menu is surprisingly extensive, and they even offer an all-you-can-eat salad bar with soup and beans, though we skipped it. I'm not a big steak eater, so I went with the Silver Saddle Cheddar Burger with no cheese. It had a strong open-flame grilled flavor and tasted like lean charbroiled patty--pretty delicious. My friend ordered the BBQ Beef sandwich with slaw. If you're looking for fancy plating or artisanal breads, this is not the spot. But if you want authentic, no-frills grill flavor, it's worth stopping by. If our server hadn't vanished, my rating would probably be higher.

Ask the Community - Silver Saddle Steakhouse

    Is there patio seating?

    No it's indoor only

Are there gluten-free options? Usually steakhouses have plenty of options but I wanted to be sure there is knowledge of cross-contamination (i.e. are fries safe or should we go with a different potato dish, are menus items marked GF, etc.).

I would call the and ask. There was a lot of meat, potatoes, salads and good beans. I don't recall seeing GF on the menu, but I'm familiar with GF.

Do they carry Pabst blue ribbon?

I don't believe they do. Great wine list and lots of other beers including several microbrews

    How old is restaurant?

Who cares? The roofs not falling in and all the employees are alive!

We were celebrating a birthday and the birthday card that was presented at the dinner table was a nice touch. My cousin also received some chocolate bon bons that were really good. My family and I shared the oysters, shrimp cocktail, onion rings, potatoes au gratin, pork chops, and rib eyes; for dessert, we shared the lava cake. Everything was made perfectly. The chops and steaks were juicy, the seafood was plump and fresh and the entree sides were hot and tasty. The bon bon chocolate was rich and velvety. I wish the chocolate in the lava cake was just as good, but it was a smidge not as rich in flavor. Nonetheless, we all left the restaurant full and very happy. I wholeheartedly recommend going to Fleming's and enjoying a nice steak dinner.

The first thing I need to own is that it's a shame I hadn't visited here before. We arrived at 5:30p and both the bar and patio areas were packed - standing room only, and no wonder. They have one of the better happy hours (daily! 3:00 - 6:30p) - able to accommodate both the slacker and the over-timer Lol. Basic drinks are all discounted such as house wines, well drinks, and beers. Their bottled wines and craft cocktails are all exempt though. Many of their appetizers are also discounted and some quite substantially. We grabbed a glass of the house cabernet ($6, normally $8) and the grilled shrimp wrapped in jalapeno bacon ($13, normally $20). NOTE: happy hour pricing is Only available if you order/consume at the bar or on the patio at that's clear in advance and understandable. The dining areas were only half full at this early point (but filled up by 6:30) and the host kindly encouraged us to enjoy our starters at the bar as she would hold our table. We were then sat near the "back" of this long venue and frankly, aside from the lone windowed table at the very front, this would be my preferred seating - cozy, intimate, with only five other tables around us. For dinner drinks she got an Italian Nebbiolo Bricco Magno Red Blend ($13/glass, reliably terrific/mellow) and I got the Chupacabra ($15) Mezcal/prickly pear cocktail, strong and excellent as well. We got an additional appetizer: the roasted bone marrow ($19). I had never had before but she raved about how good this can be if done properly (bonus, it is super healthy). Folks, a picture/worth a 1000... suffice to say this was simply outstanding! We both had long work weeks and were craving meat - just a damn good steak. Our waiter, without blinking recommended the 8oz bison filet mignon ($65) as his absolute menu fav, and the day's special: 14oz ribeye ($50). We ordered each. All dinners come with two sides and we each got the day's special: roasted half artichoke and she got the loaded baked potato while I got the mashed potatoes. Food arrived in about 15 minutes later at good temperature (warm/rested with a strong char) with each being accurately grilled (medium and medium-rare). Taste was outstanding. Neither one of us had bison filet before and marveled how it (subtly) added a "wild" edge to an always outstanding, lean-but-tender, cut of beef. The loaded baked was terrific, however, the mashed was the only disappointment... a plainer mash one could not make themselves - pure white and borderline dry, no milk, butter, egg, gravy(?), nothing to make it creamy or add any flavor dimension - a surprise frankly. The only other "critique" is that the dessert menu could add some kind of dark/chocolate concoction. All in all, though, we loved our experience and have decided to add this to our periodic special dinners rotation! Staff was outstanding - just the proper balance of attentive and quiet - and waters never went below half empty. Parking is free and plentiful, especially behind the restaurant (and yes, if you continue on around the back there is another long entrance/exit driveway that comes out the other side of Jimmy John's and Noodleholics.

Where they seemed to sit everyone coming into the restaurant. If the restaurant was packed I would understand but every other room was empty. Who wants to sit along the pathway to the bathroom? Service was so/so. Had to ask for drinks multiple times. But frankly the quality of the food was not worth the cost. Definitely will not be returning, until they revamp the menu to include less French style and more uniquely inspired fresh food. I mean if we wanted French we would have gone to Le Rendezvous or Wild Garlic which are top notch.

I walked right in, ordered at the bar, and was in and out in less than 12 minutes every time. On top of it all, I had the same person helping me from behind the bar each time and she was incredible. Friendly, accommodating, and if I was the manager, she'd be getting a raise. Ask for Alyssa and you won't be disappointed. Needless to say, anytime I am in Tucson, Arizona, I no longer have to search for a restaurant that I like. I'll definitely be back. PS - When they saw me come in for the third night in a row, the chef blessed me with a free slice of raspberry pie. That's quality customer service right there. Love this place.

I ordered a Mango Cart beer on draft w/ Tajín and the pineapple pork tenderloin. The beer is my favorite so I knew what to expect there but the tenderloin was so well cooked and prepared. I was honestly shocked. It's not a dive bar by any means but I wasn't expecting the food to be so top notch. I ended up paying $20 for my meal but would have easily paid up to $30 at a different restaurant and it would have came out not being anywhere near as good as this!

Our sever was prompt and very attentive. We order a zero proof drink (the Sunset on Sentinel) and the NA beer they had available. We skipped right to the main course since we had a quick turnaround. I went with the beef short rib ravioli and my husband had the fish and chips. We enjoyed some complimentary bread and oil as a little app before dinner came out. The ravioli was so flavorful (maybe a tiny bit too much cream sauce on the plate) - it was delicious. The fish came out crispy and perfectly battered, and flaky and moist inside. We would definitely come back next time we're in town and spend a little more time enjoying a full meal. We had a great experience.

It's tunnel vision back to the kitchen every time. Finally my waitress comes with water to the table adjacent to mine. And she did not once to look at me think to refill my water after dropping off my food. You would think they would at least check on you to make sure all is well. Nope. Would have shopped for a dessert but did not want to have to go find my server to order it.
