Positives: You were greeted with a warm smile when you walked in They have a large selection of colors and seating Negatives: Almost every tech was on the phone and disengaged. When the lady asked the tech to do the manicure she actually rolled her eyes and said something to the tech next to her. There was food and drinks all over the place. While sitting at the drying table the workers kept coming up to grab the pistachios in the jar and chomp away while standing there. The entire place felt unorganized and didn't have a clean feeling at all. When back in town I will find an alternative to get pedi and manicures done. read more

That's it--we're done. While Silver Nails has a few talented nail techs, the overall experience has become completely unacceptable. This time, I treated my wife, daughter, and granddaughter to a special day out for manicures and pedicures, spending over $300. What should have been a memorable experience turned into a frustrating and disappointing one. The manager separated my granddaughter from her mother and grandmother for her very first manicure. She had carefully grown out her natural nails specifically so she could get a dip manicure on her own nails. Before her parents even had a chance to explain what she wanted, the staff cut off her natural nails and proceeded to apply plastic nail tips instead--apparently because it was a more expensive service. Rather than keeping the family together as requested, the salon continued to keep my granddaughter separated for most of the appointment. While the adults were getting pedicures, she was isolated doing her nails. When her parent specifically asked for everyone to be together for the pedicures, the request was ignored, and the salon continued the services in opposite order. A child's first salon experience should be special, comfortable, and shared with her family. Instead, Silver Nails disregarded the family's wishes, ignored clear requests, and prioritized their own process over customer satisfaction. The result was an upsetting experience that cannot be undone. After years of giving this salon chances, this was the final straw. We will not be returning. read more

The service at this salon is sorely lacking. I can't say enough about the person who does my pedicures. She knows what she's doing and is very pleasant but scheduling is an abomination. Two months ago I came in to be told my technician was out sick. I asked why they didn't call me and all I got was shrugged shoulders. I should have learned from that but I like the way this woman did my nails so tried again. Today I came in and my technician was just starting on another person and I was told she would be a little late! A little late is 5-10 minutes but I would have had to wait until this other person got a full pedicure. Very disappointing. I guess the old saying is true "Fool me once shame on you. I got a pedicure with gel which was great and turned out good. Until I got home and my pinky toenail polish fell off. I also got a full set gel which wasn't the best. I don't think the guy could see very well while doing it. He was also not feeling well as he was coughing like crazy. My French tips are not clean at all. The topcoat/ acrylic is all over around my nails. Some nails the topcoat doesn't even reach the bottom of the nail. I didn't realize they were this bad till I was home. It's a 40 min drive. Last time I was in the tech did an amazing job it really depends on the tech you get. Very disappointed this time around especially paying $60 for this set. read more

I treated my daughter and 2 granddaughters and myself to pedicures and nails and was completely unsatisfied. they don't tell you prices or ask you what you want done and your checkout is surprising. you have to pay an additional fee if you don't have cash and dont listen when you say no acrylic. My granddaughters nails were terrible. Thick and crooked and sloppily painted. My toes were never really cleaned properly. When all this was mentioned nothing was done about it to correct the situation. Never again will I give them my business. !!!! read more

I used to come here fairly often last year because the service was always fast and friendly. Yesterday I went in for the first time in a very long time and I have never had such a fun time getting my nails done before! The staff was just as friendly as I remember, and Tom did an AMAZING job on my nails. Lynn, the owner, has done an amazing job with hiring awesome nail techs, and they iust recently got new tables and chairs that make the place look great! I will definitely start coming back regularly because I have never had a bad experience here, and last night exceeded my expectations for customer service and amazing nails! I've been going to a different nail salon for years which is a mile from my house and ALWAYS have to wait at least 15-30 minutes even with an appt. Sometimes they ask me to come back, again with me having an appt. The amount of time they spend on me is a joke! Decided to go to Silver Nails in oconomowoc and ALWAYS get seated immediately. Very frustrated because every time I go here (to get acrylics) they mess them up. I explain to them what I want I even show them pictures of the shape and length but every time they come out looking like crap. I try telling them that I want them more rounded or that some are uneven but once they cut them wrong there's really no going back. I'm tired of spending $45 for nails I end up hating. I have given them countless chances but if the ignore my requests and don't even use a picture I give them for reference then it's not worth trying. I DO NOt recommend getting acrylics done here bc 9/10 it won't look anything like you want. Edit: might I add that my cuticles are almost always left bleeding. They are not very gentle at all. My sister in law and I decided to try this place, my first impression we walked in and I felt like it was a nail factory. I did tell myself that maybe that meant that our pedicure and manicure would get done in a efficient time. My sister-in-law did end up getting cut while they did her nails, we proceeded to get our pedicures, they gave us the pricing difference at first we were going to go with the deluxe but decided to go with the regular pedi which ended up being $45 anyways. I went in last week with my mother and sister. Service was very quick, we didn't have to wait at all - keep in mind I went early morning on a weekday, not sure how busy they get on the weekends. They had several colors to choose from in both regular and shellack. The pedicure was great. I was very pleased with the service. They took their time and I didn't feel like my nail tech was rushing through it at all. The manicure I received was terrible. Most of these salons do great fake nail manicures, but I do not think my nail tech worked with real nails very much. My nails were uneven, very square (which I do not like), and she didn't even fix the crack in my nail. I was very disappointed. When we left we were charged $115 for three manicures and two pedicures, none of us got shellac. According to their price list this was almost 40 over what we expected to be charged. They never told us why it was so high. I enjoyed the pedicure, but would not return simply for that. Average service - not great for the price. I got a shellac manicure and was planning on getting a pedicure too, but they wouldn't give me a deal for getting both, so I just stuck with a manicure. About 10 minutes into my manicure, a massive swarm of 10-year old girls and one disheveled mother (I'm assuming it was a birthday party) came into the salon and it was absolute chaos. I don't think they had a reservation either, as the entire staff looked very overwhelmed after they arrived. Of course, they were demanding immediate service and there wasn't enough staff to accommodate them. Getting my nails done is always something I do when I want to treat myself and relax, but it was a very loud atmosphere with these girls yelling and running around. The man doing my nails ended up rushing through the whole thing to service these young girls and my shellac coat had very visible bubbles on several nails. About 3-4 days after the manicure, the shellac started to get large cracks on several nails and chipped on one nail, which has never happened to me before (I should have taken a picture!). I probably won't go back, as there are several other places to get your nails done in Oconomowoc. read more

Our rushed services were done at 3:45. Both of us have uneven nails and polish on our skin. She did give us $5 dollars off our service, but only because we waited so long. I am here from out of town and needed to get my nails done. Silver nails was within walking distance of my hotel so it was very convenient. I was able to get in immediately for a gel manicure. They offered me a soda or other beverage right when i sat down, which was a nice touch. Most places just provide water if anything. She did a great job shaping my nails and the polish application looks great. I read other reviews, where they said the staff was abrupt and rough handling with their nails. This was not my experience at all. Everyone there was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back when I am in town again. My only feedback would be that there is a fairly substantial language barrier with some of the techs. i would suggest making sure they become more fluent in English. That will make communicating with your nail tech more a smoother experience. read more

Love the business concept of having lots of stations so you can just walk-in versus making an appt. Very friendly welcome when I walked in and I was seated immediately. My manicurist didn't speak much English, which worked for me because I'm not a big fan of small talk when getting my nails done, but she was hard to understand when we needed to talk and I ended up with super short nails due to miscommunication. The biggest bummer though is that the manicure didn't even last a week! The tips started cracking within days and peeling at the cuticle end started about 5 days in. :/ read more

10/10 do not recommend! I went there to get a gel manicure, you know the usual. And I came in and I got a person to show me where to go, I picked a very simple color. This took the lady 10 minutes to get, I was on a schedule and needed to go. The lady then very quickly came and started doing my nails, she did not ask me how you say was or the typical questions. Then she started doing a 2nd coat and apparently it wasn't dry she took my hand and wiped off the polish then said something in mandarin in an angry tone. She got up multiple times, which I found weird because she did not get anything? But this wasn't even the worse part, it looked like a 2 year old did my nails! I could've done better! Good thing it chipped so easily! My nails started chipping within a 2 days, shouldn't it last for weeks? But this is the cherry on top of the CAKE! Maybe a day later I noticed something weird on my nails... there was this really weird brown stuff around and under it??? This was definitely not there before my appointment, I have no idea what this is and I'm honestly concerned. I felt like I was not appreciated since I was younger, even though I should've been. I've never written a review before but today's visit to Silver Nails in Oconomowoc was so disappointing. I got a "full set" with tips and shellac polish. The pedicure was just ok. Wow that towel they put on my legs was HOT! Yikes! The full set is what was really disappointing. When she cut the tips she never made sure they were all a consistent length. In fact the way they are cut the corners were longer. She didn't apply the shiny final topcoat and I didn't get a hand massage either. Since the corners were actually scratching me I had to file them myself once I got home! What's up with that? I'm not going back there again. read more

This rude, thoughtless behavior has resulted in this business losing a customer. Have gone here about 6 times... I've had decent manicures for 30$ (lasted 2 weeks but shaping could have been better) but the 2nd to last time I went, my polish started blistering... only the top layer so I made it 2 weeks. My experience selecting polish color was poor... the first time she grabbed the wrong color, set it down and I questioned it, she still put it on until I said NO. She grabbed the right color but the bottle was faulty, picked a third color--out of stock. Fourth color finally they could use. I went again and after 2 days it blistered again. I called and she offered to fix it. I went back and sat for 30 minutes with acetone on my fingers, my cuticles are so dry I have cracks now. AGAIN a color issue. I selected a color, she brought the wrong one. She put it on, I questioned it and she said itd change. She kept getting up and doing other things so I looked at the number, the 2 was erased so she grabbed 8 not 28. She was upset that I didn't want that color. She soaked it again and got 28. It was incorrectly labelled and NOT a color I would ever wear but I was so fed up and just wanted to leave. Instead of fixing it, she said she'd give me a free manicure. Well it's now 24 hours later and its peeling. Not to mention the painting was uneven and poorly done. I dont even care to come back for a free manicure, it's not worth my time. Find a different salon, the convenience of walkin isn't worth it. read more
