After hearing it was under new ownership and recently remodeled, I decided to give it another try--and I'm so glad I did. The remodel is absolutely beautiful! I came in for a pedicure, and the chairs are set in a dark, calming room with waterfalls on the walls, creating the ultimate spa experience. The technicians even bring out a candle to place on the table beside you, which is such a thoughtful touch. The service was top-notch from start to finish. Everything--from nail care to polish application--was done with great attention to detail, and the massage was truly fabulous, with just the right amount of pressure. I went to CQ Nails for Valentine's Day nails this year and had a wonderful experience. The salon has been beautifully remodeled and is under new ownership, and it feels fresh and welcoming. I got both a manicure and pedicure, and the pedicure was one of the most relaxing I've ever had. I never felt rushed, and the receptionist was so helpful in helping me choose my color and style. Best of all, my French manicure lasted beautifully -- no chipping through week two on vacation, and even into week three they still looked great. Let me start by saying, I never give bad reviews... EVER. I waited for over an hour after I was told it would be 15-20 minutes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Tis the season for call ins and other short staffed drama. Not only was this painful, the end result looks terrible. I was so afraid to say something because I didn't want the guy to redo it- it hurt that bad... I understand that sometimes manicures hurt, I understand that sometimes you bleed. But 7 out of my 10 fingers were bleeding through out this appointment. Two of my fingers look like they got slammed in a car door... I had showed them a picture of what I wanted. Color and all... it was a nude short square look with a white sparkle and a couple of ombré nails. What I got is not even close. The shape is wrong, some nails are bulbous and misshapen, some nails don't have a top coat, the ombré looks HORRIBLE, the color is laughable. I came for a professional service and got something that looks like a five year old did it. I also found out from a friend (who had an appointment after me) that she had the same older gentleman I did and he THROUGH A BOTTLE ACROSS THE ROOM! He had to redo her nails twice and still walked out with the wrong color. Didn't get her service until an hour and 15 minutes after it was scheduled. This was terrible. I went for a fill today and was not happy with the result. Pam did my nails, and has done them in the past. I loved the way she did them, followed the shape, color and size I requested. When I went in today, I told her she could shave down a little bit of the growth that had happened, and she shaved my nails down SO FAR. btw, i already had the acrylics on, so there was no need for a shape change but she continued to anyway. As she was putting the acrylic on, she changed the shape again and made them super wide at the end (like a duck nail, which i find ugly.) and she didnt see a problem with it. Since they drilled my nails down so far, my middle finger hurt so bad and she wouldnt stop filing it down even though I was pulling away from her, the acrylic was lumpy and the nails look gross and not at ALL what i wanted. very dissatisfied and angry. read more

I only went twice, I just wanted polish change, the greeter, asked me to pick out polish, then proceeded to call Leo over. I have naturally strong nails, but he took a nail drill to remove regular polish, they appeared to be arguing with each other. I asked is this asking to much? All I wanted was a polish change and 5.00 add on design. Well they decided to put gel on my nails.. I called to make a reservation, the second time and asked for Leo because I liked the design. Well forget that, I got a girl, for by pedi, if I told them once I had to tell them 10 times "NO GEL". On my toes. They were all so friendly and kind let me say. The color of my nails is great too. But girl god damn. Mans filed my nails so HARD every single one of my nails was bleeding. I shit you not. My fingers are so sore and in so much pain rn I cannot even make this up. I have video proof. The only finger that didn't have visible BLOOD was my pinky nail he was so aggressive and my nails look like squares and I wanted almond/more rounded almond. My last visit here was less than satisfactory. I have been here before and had a great experience and decided to come back for another appointment with my sister. I called ahead and got a full set with gel. $50... usually is around there anyway BUT that's not where my problem is. I wanted a small rose on my ring finger and what I received was nothing like that. Forgot to mention that I am going to a wedding and wanted classy nails that just has a small little accent to it. Added blue sparkles and a real looking orange flower to my finger. It wasn't staying on and it hasn't even been 24 hours and they both have nearly fallen off. Not sure that blue, orange, and red really go together. The flower also wasn't staying on my finger and I was telling him that I didn't need it and he didn't have to put it on. But despite that. I am now heading to a different nail place to get it fixed. I am going to add that despite the negativity in my review, the person who helped me, did take amazing care of the health of my nails. Making sure that they were all the same length and the same shape. They did go through all of the motions. Not going to blame them from trying but if you can't do something, I just advise to just let your customer know rather than letting them leave unhappy. I'm happy with how 8/10 nails turned out. I LOVE THIS PLACE! I may be biased, but I have been a client at every nail salon in Oconomowoc. Silver Nails: I used to have good services until my mom and I started to have awkward experiences with technicians making inappropriate comments and cutting us (we also got infections from the cuts). We started to get rushed in and out once they got busy, or we would have an appointment and get pushed aside. I once waited 3 hours to have my nails done, and I had an appointment (had it not been homecoming I would have left). The owner, Lynn reassured me I would get in right away and to not leave and I kept waiting even though she rudely barked at her employees and rushed people in and out. The salon was small, dirty, and felt cheap. Also, it turns out that she stole the technicians tips and made up prices as she went! For someone who doesn't get their nails done often, that was the final straw, so then I moved on to A.D. Nails. A.D. Nails: Huge issues here, the salon was small and the technicians were quick and working under pressure. It was the cheapest salon to try, but you were paying for low quality work. So I decided to give up. Until... C.Q. Nails: I started coming here during high school because I heard they gave a discount on services for students (which they do!). I was immediately impressed by the manager, Amy and Tam, and the atmosphere they have created. Their salon is huge, new, and clean. They use fresh and clean supplies, and have friendly staff. They are very accommodating to their clients and do their absolute best to satisfy the client. They offer great coupons and have reasonable priced services. They are true to doing their best to hold an appointment, and are honest on wait times for walk ins. They truly appreciate your business. Some of my favorite technicians, but are not limited to, would be Heather, Emily, Rita, Bentley, Sam, Fong, Amy, and Laura. As you can see, there are several great people to try! read more

I get they get busy and the staff need to take time on their customers but 39 minutes after our appt time we sat in the pedicure chairs with water. 20 minutes in and the water was cold and still no service. My lady was great but the one for my daughter you could tell was rushed. I have been going to CQ Nails since Amy was in Pewaukee and have always had amazing service and a good outcome. Not this time! I went in on Sunday for a pedicure and there was no one at the counter to greet, the dew technicians who were out front were busy and rude. Finally some older guy comes out of the back to take care of me. I showed him on the card which pedicure I wanted, $33 service. Lukewarm water, nothing added to it as usual, no cuticle trim, barely any lotion and what little I got was applied only to tops of feet! I hate to say it but since Amy is not actively involved any longer it has gone to hell in a handbasket. MANY years of no ATM and now that is needed? Tacky! It seems unsanitary, I have to ask for a new scrubber because the guy was going to use a dirty one. Walked in on a Thurs afternoon around 4pm, without an appointment, to get my eyebrows waxed. I usually get them threaded, but figured I'd give waxing a try again, for the first time in a while. Waited for ~7 minutes 'til someone was available to wax my brows. It was $10--totally a fair price; I tipped $2, in addition. I'm not sure what her name was, but the person who waxed my eyebrows did a wonderful job. I didn't know what to expect since I chose this place of all places out of sheer (location) convenience, but I'm so happy with the result! She was so thorough, and was very much invested in the waxing job, for the five minute waxing-, tweezing-, trimming-eyebrow experience. Would totally love to go back to this place for waxing! Went there for the first time and they gave me an elder gentleman. He was nice; but he gave me the worst gel manicure and pedicure I have ever had. And believe me I have been getting them for 40 years. Were specs in some of my nails, the sweeps were not clean, left way too much nail showing (they looked like they had already grown out for 2 weeks. And after 3 days had my first chip, and 2 days later two more chips. Could hardly say he even massaged my feet and legs, and my to nails were all jagged. Had to file them when I got home. Absolutely in love with my nails! I got a no frills pedicure with regular polish and a regular manicure with gel polish no added tips. I scheduled an appointment last minute the day of. They got me in right away and everything was very clean, individual nail files and such for each client. The young girl doing my names was VERY GOOD. She was very thorough, definitely one of my best manicures and pedicures. ONLY thing for improvement would be she spoke no English, so I felt bad we were just gesturing, and mostly quiet, which is okay, but hard to communicate directly with her. My first visit and I made an appt for 11 am. I've been sitting here with my feet in now cold water for 20 minutes waiting......waiting....... and when I asked who was doing my service (as the girl who walked in with me got immediate attention) was sharply told someone was coming and she couldn't control how long it would take. Hmm.. A little friendly communication would go a long way like, "hey welcome and someone will be right with you!" This is one of those large salons with 25 manicure stations and another ten pedicure stations. Largely Asian staff but thankfully their language skills are good, so at least once someone came we were able to converse. I'd recommend perhaps walking in during the week when they are less busy. Pretty basic and inexpensive service. They do have a coupon so at least it's cheap. I'm going to look for a salon where they say hello. Post visit update: the guy who did my pedi was watching tv BEHIND HIM while hastily and distractedly working on my feet. This was hands down the shabbiest pedicure ever. My Polish was on my skin, he barely buffed my feet, and my cuticles were terrible. He never shaped my toenails. I paid and left and went to another place up the street. Never be back. Anyone can paint a toenail and he did a lousy job at that! I get professional pedis to clean up and buff my toes not just rub lotion on and slap polish on! read more
