A bit about this place and my meal. The parking was real convenient, multiple entrances and exits made getting in and out a breeze. Very easily handicapped accessible. I ordered my usual, 2 eggs over easy, Bacon (yes, capitalized), french fries, whole wheat toast, and a coffee. The eggs were jumbo, which was pleasant. A big yolk with lots of white, cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, I was a bit dissatisfied with the Bacon. It was just on the thin side of average, which is why I took off a point and a half. You could taste the slight thinness as you bite into it. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible, just not average, and let's face it, it's Bacon. It was cooked perfectly (for me), not burnt, and not soft. The french fries, which I ordered extra well done, was also cooked perfectly. The coffee was good, was only served with half&half, so if you want milk, ask for it when you order. It came in a regular cup, not one of those small tea cups, which I HATE. The whole wheat toast came out buttered. I should have asked for it plain, but that's my fault, not theirs. The service was just ok, not excellent, and not bad, so no point loss or gain. That would have given the diner three and a half stars, which I would have rounded to four, because everything was cooked perfectly; however, my atmosphere was negative, which made me take off another half point. The waitresses and counter staff were arguing, something about tips, and one person not liking someone else, and this lasted throughout my meal. That negativity bothered my meal. I have been going to Silver Moon for many moons! Loved, note LOVED it, but not anymore. My party of three dined there on Christmas Eve at 12 noon. Right from the get-go our waitress was salty. We were not even walked to our table, just waved there. Okay... the cushion had dried scrambled egg on there. No problem.. I just brushed it away. The salty dog came and took our drink order. We ordered coffee, sweet tea and water with lemon. We received our cold drinks, however, no lemon and unsweetened tea. After about 10 minutes i asked her for our coffee order... arrogantly replied "when I'm finished serving this other table" and scowled at me. Okay... when she returned with our burnt coffee my son asked for sweet tea. No problem. Right.. wrong.. you wont like it.. it's Lipton brisked brewed.. you'll be disappointed. . Okay.. I asked for lemon. In a flippant tone she said Yes Mam. She returned with my lemon and my son said he really DOES want sweetened tea. Don't say I didn't warn you. I can't make this stuff up. We decided to give her the benefit of the doubt which we did not benefit! After all it was Christmas Eve. Things went from bad to worse. we decided to treat ourselves to prime rib. Yummy. It was $19.95 and came with soup and 2 sides. The cream of crab was excellent as usual. Two of us ordered prime rib rare as it should be. Fine. While waiting for our food we were served at least one day old bread. I don't need to describe stale bread. We were at this.point getting a little bit frustrated. I went and sought out another waitress to get us warm fresh bread and she brought it to our table. When we finally got our dinner order the prime rib was so tough that my fork bent. Okay.. the prime rib was well done.So I asked the other waitress again to come over to the table. I explained that I asked for rare. the waitress exclaimed we couldn't get it rare.. really?? Really. Isn't that the way it's prepared?? At this point I asked for the manager. I explained about the coffee, tea and bread. She was very helpful and finally got our prime rib rare. But not tender and very fatty. Wrong again. I don't even think it was a cut of prime rib! ! Long story short our meal was $42.00 for one prime rib and they charged for one prime dinner and the manager charged us for 2 soups and vegetables that came with the dinner We will Not be back. Went for lunch during the week. I had the crab cake on a kaiser. The crab cake was very good. Not the absolute best I've ever had, but it was very good. The lunch deal for $10.99 (I think) included a bowl of soup (crab soup - very good too), fries and cole slaw. You can't beat that for a deal. My husband and I love going here for breakfast. Even on a busy weekend, we are usually seated very quickly. Their portions are big and the food is delicious. Way better diner good than places like Double-T. Some favorites of ours so far are the gyro omelet (well, any of their omelets really) and the Belgian waffle. read more

I actually took the time to download this app just to let others' know how shocked I was at the level of service I received. My greeting at the door was an old woman, screaming into a phone. She then turned towards me and asked if I had called. I said no. She waved me over and as if I wasn't walking fast enough, yelled back, FOLLOW ME. The food service from my waiter was fine. Food good (I only ordered two eggs and toast.) I went up to pay and realized you can only pay with a card if your order is $15 and over. WHOA. I didn't have cash so I had to pay $2.50 at their ATM in order to pay my bill. Huge inconvenience. I will never frequent this place again. read more

The food is decent. The service is absent. It is fairly typical for a diner experience. I wouldn't go there for anything other than breakfast foods and sometimes the butter tastes like they mixed it with cotton candy, which isn't a good thing btw. If you want a quick breakfast to have an awkward conversation over or go somewhere to take a cool Instagram picture of a menu, head on over. So far so good. Peggy immediately seated me, brewed fresh decaf. Yea. Large menu, go ahead and take your time. I got a senior special. First course crab soup Maryland style. This is basic vegetable soup with crab. Didn't sense the crab or find a bite, but generally good, family style soup. Hit the spot. Next the tilapia was grilled with just enough seasoning. Baked potato just fine. Peas were canned. Haves eaten canned peas since I was a child. But hot and not seasoned. So I could adjust the salt and butter. Silver Moon on Pulaski Hwy is the best dinner in Baltimore!!!! Believe me when I tell you the food is AWESOME, the portions are out of this world, truly more than you can eat. You will be really satisfied BEFORE you leave. I have soooooo many favorite starting with the HUGE crab cakes, reasonable priced to the CHICKEN CHESAPEAKE, which is prepared with three jumbo shrimp adored ontop, and a crab imperial below, the a moist chicken breast, HUGGGGGGGE PORTION... 3 veggie choices, soup and a drink,,,, not to mention those dessert... BAM !!! I dare you to try one.... the menu has something for everyone.... it's amazing... it's like a book!!!! The service is great as well..... We eat at the Silver Moon several times a month, last night was our last. When we got there the police were in the parking lot most of the wait staff as well as the owner were outside yelling. We were seated and began to wait and wait, 1/2 hour later a waitress took our order she said it was not her table she would do the best she could. An hour later our food arrived. In the mean time the owner came inside along with a police officer who was speaking in a very professional tone, while the owner was yelling and acting like a fool. I called the next day to comment on the dinner and the manager blamed me for not being understanding about there problem. I spent over a $120.00 for our meal & tip, the owner needs to understand that the customer make a decision every time the go out to dinner where they want to eat, a bad time means we won't be back. read more

I love Diners and I used to like this one. BUT on black Friday I got the worse service..not from the wait staff..but from the Manager. She is apparently the owners daughter and was soo rude. OF NOTE, they are busier on Sundays than they were on this day. We sat down and ordered and waited an hour (no really I timed it) for our food. All the tables around us got their food and had sat down AFTER us. Our waitress noticed and told us they had lost the order in the kitchen. Likely since she was also the waitress for the tables around us and was getting food out. SO bottom line she was not standing around doing nothing. I went to check out and told the cashier who told the manager who said "we are very busy today ma'am. That is just how it is". Did not even want to HERE that the kitchen lost our order. Then she blamed it on the waitress who was standing right behind her. No apology. She treated me like I was the problem. WOW. SO unprofessional. Will never go back and I told them that. read more

This place is pretty good this is where my mom and me come when we get breakfast. Been coming since they opened and never had a bad experience. Foods always good and hot. The service is always good the one guy with the toupee is a little awkward and seems like he is always unhappy but other than him great. I've read slot of reviews on here that have been negative. But keep in mind it is a diner so u get diner food and it's good it's not fine dining so if Justin want that go elsewhere. I've never seen bugs or rodents in there so don't be scared that ur going to have it in your food. But other than that make your own opinion and experience. I love this place! The crab cakes are AMAZING! You could easily make two sandwiches from it, they're that big. All lump, seasoned perfectly. The Maryland crab soup and cream of crab are also awesome. My husband and I had breakfast in there yesterday. To start with, the coffee was old and tasted pretty bad. I had chipped beef with home fries, which I thought was good. My husband ordered eggs over easy which came over hard. He also ordered a short stack of pancakes, which he said were horrible and tasted like what he would imagine ass to taste like. The person behind the counter was not welcoming, didn't smile even once and looked like she hated her job. And to add insult to injury the bill was about $30.00. Just stopped there for dinner, food was just okay I don't see what the other reviewers were talking about. Also, this place is highway robbery I ordered a kids grilled cheese and requested ham be added, I also ordered 2 chicken fingers kids meals and requested fruits instead of fries. The waitress didn't tell us anything but when we got the bill all the kids meals went up to $9.25 from $5.25, an up charge of $4 for 1 lousy slice of ham on a grilled cheese and $4 to substitute fries to fruits. Don't go if you have a child in diapers. They gave me a hard time about a booster seat at the table, and they don't have a changing table in the bathroom or even a family restroom. I had to change my nephew in the car. And you have to spend $15 in order to use your card or you have to use cash. read more

My wife and I started going to Silver Moon about 2 years ago, and at the time it was great. Portions were large, food was excellent, and service was great. Unfortunately, it has steadily declined since then. The quality of the food has fallen off considerably, with most things tasting bland and no more than a frozen dinner reheated. Service is still hit or miss. They will not tell you about specials if you don't ask, and they have no issue charging full price for less food if you don't specifically order the special. The manager, and I believe owner, will not do anything for you if this happens. The last few times I have gone I commented on the decline and said I wouldn't go back, and yesterday's visit was definitely the last straw. read more

I've actually been going here for years and do love the food WHEN the order is right. I've never found the owner and staff to be friendly and in my opinion they can be very rude! I've only had 2 issues with wrong orders when getting take out but this last one made me decide to never go back. I clearly ordered the turkey dinner with brown gravy instead of turkey gravy. When I got home I called to complain because there was turkey gravy under brown gravy.. yuck!! The lady that I spoke to told me it was her fault and she didn't notice the turkey gravy was on it till after she put the other gravy on it. Why would she still serve it and why did she tell me there was nothing she could do without me bringing back the food?!?! Who feels like running back out?!?! We usually go here on Sundays after church or Saturday night, today we went here around 12:30 pm and was rudely greeted by i'm guess she is the manager (pink shirt, blonde hair, and full of bad attitude) she said "how many" no good mornings or anything , but I paid it no mind since my son loves their Belgian waffles here... I said 3 plus a high chair... she said ok it'll be 10 min , 20 min passed , standing by the door way with a HANGRY 2 year old and crying 2 month old and all bigger parties who arrived after us were seated, I reminded miss rude girl with the pink shirt about our table... she wanted us to sit at the single booth that can fit maybe an ass cheek since we are a party of 4 , she finally rudely demanded to another hostess that when the next table opens itll be ours... until another party of five walked in and guess who she sat at the table that was for "us" ... she then went and talked so rudely to the employees and walked in to the kitchen with her rude attitude to yell at the kitchen staff in front of all the customers, after waiting for who knows how long we left , ive never had an issue with the food here or any staff members and ive never mind waiting but RUDE workers like the lady in the pink with blonde hair today will make me never come back here and avoid this place if I see her working , kudos to the other two hostess, Caucasian girl with brunette hair and African American guy for apologizing on their managers behalf and taking all the rude comments from Blonde Girl in the pink, because it took every bit of me to just walk away, btw no one deserves to be treated the way that lady treats her staff... ever read more

Normally this place is good but the meat I got with my carry out was so rotten that is made the whole first floor of house stink. Just the smell of it made me start gagging but the thing that bothers me is that if the chef has ever actually cooked before then you could smell that the sauce was rancid. They still sent the food out and it was ok? Had I eaten it, I would've gotten sick for sure. This place is just a low quality restaurant with dirty unfriendly employees now.
