I popped in to The Local with one of my friends for a much needed happy hour and we were both in consensus we had to come back to try some other menu items and specials. $7 for the house Sangria and a mule of the day, was a great start to the evening and quite tasty. We both dined on the burger and fries and enjoyed the dish. I would've like a bit of seasoning on the burger patties and maybe a cheddar or American cheese, but that's my personal preference. I asked for the black truffle aioli on the side and that was definitely the way to go to really be able to taste the black truffle. And might I say the aioli was delicious. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The Local offers different specials on various nights and even does live music on Friday nights. This is a great place on the Avenue to enjoy dishes made with ingredients from local businesses and enjoy a delicious meal.

I left most of the skin behind, but ate some of it because the portion was so small. I had to eat something. Please have the chef look up what fish and chips is supposed to look like. Despite being the only server, our wait person was outstanding - it wasn't their fault that they had to handle the entire dining room. . Also appreciated the carafe of water on the table - but why no ice -had to drink lukewarm water. Make sure to ask for prices upfront and verify-for a single crabcake entrée, we paid $63 when it's advertised online as 30. Let the buyer beware.. Wouldn't feel a need to return at this point, too many other better options.

Ordered a flatbread pizza that was good and the pesto chicken sandwich (no bun) that was delicious! Sandwich was served with house made chips that were worth fighting over. Tons of specials. The quality, the flavor, and the presentation are always on point. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. The ambiance is also really nice. It definitely feels like a more upscale diner, not your typical diner experience. It's comfortable, clean, and just has a better overall vibe. What I received was a bowl with a single patty and a slice of cheese. There was no bacon and the additional patty was missing. Plus the grilled onions that I was charged for were not added. They did give me the grilled mushrooms, but that was it. And when I told the young lady my order was incorrect, she acted like fixing it would be Mission Impossible. The crazy thing is, she could habe simply explained to me when I ordered that I couldn't get it that way and allowed me the option of adding the additional protein without assuming I either didn't want to or could not afford the meal I requested. I am extremely disappointed by this and was truly unable to enjoy my meal.
