Porterhouse steak cooked to perfection!
Jessica J.

If you haven't been here for the Wednesday steak specials, you're missing out!! My steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned well also. To top it off, I got a porterhouse for $24.99! You can't beat that!

Server was nice The best thing I liked was that we got to pick where we wanted to sit at . I just hope the server got her tip!! Food was cool. The atmosphere was great nice people.

A bustling diner serving family classics. Food: Portions were large, dishes were fresh, and was clearly made with love. Service: Service was quick and efficient. When I came in a waitress with 12 coffees in her hand tried to seat me but I told her to go deliver those first. Everyone was smiley and present. Vibe: Classic family diner, very clean. Parking: Large free parking lot Pricing: reasonable with big portions

This place is your typical diner. It gives off a nostalgic feel to it much like other diners. I came here on a friday morning and it was nice and quiet. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. I wanted a diner styled breakfast and that is exactly what was provided. The prices were also very fair!

French toast with strawberries and Nutella

The French toast with strawberries and Nutella is amazing. The strawberries complement the Nutella and french toast perfectly. It's soft but not soggy. In my opinion, it's cooked to perfection. Also, the staff is very attentive. The diner itself is clean. They also had some pretty Christmas trees.

Spanish Omelette - and a cornucopia of syrups, jams and butter!
Pauline S.

The best omelette I've had in a long time. That's some big praise! As someone who *loves* a good breakfast, I am so glad to have tried the Silver Moon Diner this morning. I had the Spanish Omelette which was a variety of veggies and pepper jack cheese in it...and -sincerely- the best, fluffy, flavorful eggs. Served with home fries, toast and a sort of tomato paste/salsa on top, this omelette was filling and delicious No need to add any salt/pepper and didn't even really need a knife to cut through those fresh, silky eggs. I give it a 4 star only bc the salsa/paste on top was a bit thick for me, and the home fries could have been cooked more (not that they were undercooked, but I like my home fries more on the crisp side). To note: my partner got fruit as his side and it was also really fresh! What makes this all even better? The old school diner digs that have all been well maintained and clean. Can't wait to try more on their menu!

Meatloaf dinner

I have been coming to this Diner since they opened over a decade ago . Yesterday I got the Meatloaf dinner with Macaroni and Cheese and Collard Greens . The Meatloaf was very mild tasting and included a beef gravy . The Macaroni and Cheese and Collard Greens were a little overcooked . Overall a fair meal at a moderate price . Our server did a good job .

This re-creation of the old pre-fab steel diner hits every mark for my expectations of what a diner should be. They have plenty of parking with easy street access. The resttaurant is clean and well maintained. I was seated immediately during the lunch hour, and the staff was friendly and courteous. My order came out so fast, I almost couldn't believe it. I enjoyed the He-man breakfast, as I didn't have to choose what meat I wanted, it was a nice sampler. The Scrapple was cooked just right, not too mushy. The large coffee was kept full by my server, and it was fresh. I also wasn't kept waiting for the check, which is nice. The pricing was very fair, considering what you get. The Silver Moon will be pne of my go-to places when on that side of town!

Eggs, bacon and fruit with toast and a coffee. Pretty good stuff.

This was my first time visiting this diner so I thought I would share my experience. The style of the restaurant is, well, obvious diner decor. It has that typical 50s/60s diner style. The place was clean and presented well while being nice and warm in this chilly morning. The staff was pleasant and greeted us quickly. We were sitting no more than a minute or two before the waitress helped us. I ordered three eggs, bacon and fruit with a coffee. The food came out pretty fast, maybe 7 or 8 minutes after we ordered! The eggs were done like I asked and the fruit was fresh and had a nice mix. (Love it when oranges are included) the bacon was a little overdone and the eggs were ever so slightly greasy. Coffee was average, typical diner coffee. Overall, this was a good diner experience with a little room for improvement. Prices were very reasonable which helps add to the overall value of the experience. Worth a stop if you are looking for a good diner meal.

Omelette with sausage, tomato and cheese along with home fries and toast

I was seated immediately, but the service was a little slow. I generally knew what I wanted, so it did not take long for me to decided. Breakfast dinner had always been one of my favorite meals. I ordered a tomato juice along with an omelette (sausage, tomato and cheese) with home fries. These both tasted ok. I was hoping a little more with the home fries. I grabbed some cannolis when I checked out because their dessert display case was too inviting. The restaurant was ok. I do prefer Double T as it has specials each night.

It's a diner. These places house American staples as well as some of the most well kept employees (whether they have an attitude or good demeanor) I think it's places like diners where we find some of the best, or worst kept secrets. Luckily this one has all the good ones. From chipped beef to scrapple and grits. They got American stapes. Well cooked, nothing over the top. Clean and well kept. Servers were trained on the menu. I had breakfast, omelette, French toast, bacon, the sausage gravy. All good portions. Came out quick, hot and well prepared with clean utensils (this seems to be a challenge for Maryland/DC). Pricing was spot on 35 bucks for the food pictured. Plus a side of sausage gravy. Friendly service with a smile, recycled paper to-go containers for the eco-feeling self-conscious earth saving vibes. The only thing I'd say to change here is the way *subs* are rang in. I asked for sausage gravy added into my omelette. They charged me 4.25 and brought me a side bowl of gravy. I ordered a sausage and cheese omelette, they charged me for a cheese omelette and then up-charged the sausage in the omelette. In the future let someone know you're going to charge or adjust the requests to the kitchens needs or menus charging so it's transparent. This would normally be a 3* but, the portion sizing for the price (I didn't know I was going to pay for) was more than accommodating. Overall this place was okay. (my 4* go-to)

Silver Moon Diner was one of mine and mom's favorite go to eating spots after a day of shopping. We decided to stop in since it has been awhile (about a year) since we spent a day of shopping together. We were pleased when we pulled into the parking lot because there were only 2 cars in the parking lot. We walk in and were promptly greeted and seated. We noticed a few things were different in the way the place looked. It looked very nice and clean, and they had TV's hanging on the wall which was nice as well. We also noticed the staff looked new. We were handed 2 nice clean menus and they were different as well. I said to my mom, I think this place is under new management and she agreed. Our waiter Andres L greeted us to get us some drinks and he was pleasant. After looking at the menu, I noticed a big price change. Mom and I decided to eat light, so we chose the Grilled Cheese sandwich which came with a cup of soup ($7.75). We decided to get the Maryland crab soup. We assumed fries came with our grilled cheese. Andres did inform us that all seafood soup was an additional $2 upcharge which made our meal $9.75 each. I stated that the upcharge was fine. Andres returns with our cup of soup. There was no crab meat in it at all. Just vegetables in Old Bay seasoned juice. I mumbled "where is the seafood"? That I paid $2 extra for and my mom just started laughing. The soup was okay. Then Andres return with our grilled cheese sandwiches and that literally was all it was...just a grilled cheese, no fries, no pickle, no side of Cole slaw. WTF! I just stared at my plate! My mom continues to laugh. I began to eat my grilled cheese. The sandwich was okay, but I wanted more food....Mom did not like her grilled cheese at all. She said the cheese tasted generic and she only ate half the sandwich. My bill total came to $26.93 plus I left a $6.00 tip on the table for Andres who was great. I paid $32.93 for 2 Grilled Cheese Sandwich's, 2 cups of Old Bay flavored vegetable soup and 2 Cokes. What a rip-off! This place really went downhill. But like I said, I think new owners took over. Well, Mom and I say farewell to dining at Silver Moon Diner permanently. We will try the Double T Diner that is up the street further.

Cajun Chesapeake Caesar Salad

I was not expecting too much, but I walked away pleasantly surprised. I ordered a Cajun salad, and I enjoyed it. The chicken was well-flavored, and the lumps of crab were large and tasty.

Had the Prime Rib and it was excellent! Eating Prime Rib at a Diner is always risky, but they did a great job!

After choosing a seat, I picked up the menu to decide. The waitress was there asking for my drink order already!!! I took a minute, and ordered the French Dip sandwich with fries. The food came out with scarcely a wait, and was cooked just right. And it was the best sandwich I've had all week!!! Seasoned perfectly, and served with a cup of steaming Au Jus. The fries were crispy on the outside, just how I like them. The wood paneling and Formica tabletops harken to a simpler time, as does the menu. While well worn, everything is obviously clean and well cared for by an owner and management team that really cares. The prices are reasonable, considering the amount of food you get. The staff is friendly and funny, with some folks trading jokes with the local regulars. The Essex feels like the diners of old, and I wish there were more like these still around. I can't wait to see how breakfast is after this great dinner!

Very quaint little diner tucked in Dundalk right down the street from Eastpoint mall…read more I had the steak, egg and cheese sandwich and my husband had the Truckers omlette. The omlette eas huge when it was served and I can barely take my eyes off at how big the serving was. Both items were served hot and cooked to perfection. We would definitely revisit this tiny little spot again if in the area.
