I don't usually write reviews, but I really wanted to rave about this place. The staff was really chill, and they all seemed really friendly. I stayed with some friends for one night and the room was pretty awesome, very roomy and comfortable. I love the included parking, I never even used my car after we checked in, and there's a pretty large parking lot right outside of the hotel that wasn't too expensive. I also really liked how the hotel itself was away from a lot of hustle and bustle, but it was still walking distance from the Seattle Center. In fact my friends and I just walked over and used the monorail to get downtown. It was really nice not having to worry about parking, and it's definitely doable, as long as you're dressed for the weather. I think what really sold me on the place though, was what happened when we were about to go out for the night. We asked them if they could call a cab for us, and instead they offered to just drive us over to where we wanted to go. It definitely saved us a couple bucks and they were really cool about it too. This is definitely my go-to hotel from now on! read more

The pool was that perfect level of chlorinated and open 24 hours a day. Beds were soft and clean, towels not scratchy. The water pressure was great and the breakfast amazing. Area and view were A+ and this is a definite coming again place. read more

Stayed here back in October for my 30th birthday and have to say it was a great choice. We live only an hour away but decided since heavy drinking would be involved (my 30th) and the club/lounge was literally across the street this would be a great option for us. Staff was friendly, check in was super fast and efficient. Parking lot is a secured garage for added comfort to your security. Rooms are clean and what you expect from a motel/hotel. Great large flat screen tv'a included, however the quality is poor since HD is not included. Kid friendly. The breakfast buffet is alot better than most. Never ran out of food, pleanty of supplies throughout the service and food was really decent. Waffles were really good and freash since you got to make then yourself. The view from the eating place is beautiful as well!! Great clear view of South Lake Union! I recommend this place because it's inexpensive, comfortable and close to everything. If you are visiting from out of the area leave your car in the garage, walk across the street and take the South Lake Union Trolly and make your way to all the sites our beautiful city of Seattle has to offer. read more

The Silver Cloud Inn on Lake Union was the perfect hotel to host all our out of town guests for our May 2012 wedding (about 50 rooms). From the beginning, the Silver Cloud team (namely, Garret) was courteous, helpful, and very accommodating. They helped us set up a block of rooms at a discount (10 rooms), booked conference rooms so we could have food available throughout the day, and even offered free shuttles to help our family get to and from dinner. Wow! Our guests loved the hotel's proximity to downtown, the free shuttle to tourist attracitons, the generous hot free breakfast every morning, and the view from the 2nd floor dining room (also a great gathering area). Very reasonably priced and well-appointed rooms. Highly recommend this hotel! read more

Pleasantly surprised. Stayed at Lake Union site which is across the street from the lake. The room was clean. Continental breakfast with Tully's coffee, make your own waffles, yogurts, fresh fruit, cheese, etc. There is also free shuttle service to local restaurants and Pike Street market place. These run until 11 PM. The only issue with this hotel is that the parking spaces are tiny - other than that a good stay and value. read more

Perfect, in every way. 7th floor suite. Incredible views. Loved watching the seaplanes and the sailboats. Could even see the Space Needle and night lights of Seattle. Comfy, clean, romantic, and fun. Breakfast (again, view!) was great. Waffles! Girls at the desk, to the lovely woman who took care of our room, were sweet and delightful. We stay here every time we come to Seattle (once or twice a year). Wouldn't change one thing. read more

DON'T book here if you need to go to the Seattle Convention Center for any type of convention. The shuttle service they provide won't take you there, if you can even get on it in the first place. For a hotel their size I was told by the rude front desk lady that they only have one shuttle. We had to take a $10 cab ride to the convention center about four times a day which adds up. Their service people are rude, including the drivers, and the only good experiences I had was with the complementary breakfast. We would constantly got noise complaints because we had to blow up an air bed, which I know isn't fully the hotels fault but was still stupid. All in all it was a horrible experiences and I wont book with any of their hotels again. Nice room, horrible customer service, good breakfast, plane on staying where you are. read more

Do yourself a favor, stop looking at the Residence Inn down the street, and look here instead. I've stayed at the RI too many times and been dismayed by their lame customer service, their (often) overbooking, and their lackluster breakfast and "reception". The last time I booked at the RI, they were yet again overbooked and they sent me to this gem at nearly midnight. The staff at the Cloud are friendly, attentive, and smiling, and the rooms are actually clean and updated, which is more than I can say for the other options in the area. Breakfast isn't anything special here either, but I gave up on free hotel breakfasts a long time ago. For convenience to the Hutch and SCCA, look no further. Lake Union gets better every year for exploring, too. read more

This is an excellent hotel for the price. My wife remarked that the bathroom was one of the cleanest she had seen. The staff is professional, if not overly friendly. The shuttle driver was really nice and a lot of fun to talk to. The view of Lake Union was beautiful, and you feel like you're right outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown yet still close enough to everything. The room was well appointed and very clean. A separate wet bar sink and sink outside the bathroom is very nice. The parking is secure, but there is a really funky angle as you're leaving the gate to go to the ramp, that might have you doing a several point turn coming out of the garage. But that's really not that big of a deal. The parking was relatively empty during the week but was filled up on Friday night, probably due to the 3-day weekend. I'd stay here again if we were doing things outside of Seattle Center. read more

This place is great for the price and location! Right near where the ferry leaves to Whidbey island. Lots of little hole in the wall pubs and resteraunts all around within walking distance. I think it's worth it to pay a little extra and get a room that overlooks the ocean. These rooms are a bit small, but beautiful, especially the view! They place you literally over the ocean with the waves coming up underneath that part of the hotel. In December, we paid about $145 for the room. The service is A++!!! There was free wine in the evening. Free continental, breakfeast, coffee etc. Overall, I'd call it a cosy, romantic little seaside hotel. Great cultural feel to the whole area. Loved it! read more

Great place to stay, The location is a bit off the beaten path but the shuttle helps a great deal. Not a lot more I can say, staff was great, the room was clean and spacious, and even the complimentary breakfast was tasty. Parking and wireless internet were free. I like this hotel and stay often because of the proximity to several venues and places in Seattle. The rooms are always nice and clean. They are pretty standard but meet expectations. The pool is liked by the kids and as user friendly as any indoor pool. The breakfast is standard stuff. Nothing is really good. Kids can make a waffle. Other than fruit it is all carbs. The parking is tight if you have anything besides economy. We stay there most times we travel for family stuff in the city. read more

My daughter and I took a college road trip to Seattle. We stayed at Silver Cloud Inn - Lake Union for 3 nights. The hotel was conveniently located, free parking, albeit small and a bit difficult for midsize vehicles, free breakfast which filled the belly, room was spacious and clean. We took advantage of the free shuttle, but learned the hard way how it worked after being stranded at the space needle waiting for pickup until 11pm that never showed. Staff was completely unapologetic when we called. We were informed for the first time that pickup has to be called in. We had talked to 3 separate staff to get the shuttle ride to the space needle and this was never mentioned. I have several other examples of poor front desk service, but I'm not going to waste my time. I was going to give them 3 stars because I value customer service so much and I was so disappointed with my experience, but that would have been emotionally driven. I am a frequent traveler and know the overall rating is probably 4 star. Customer service tends to be a dying convenience these days. read more

I was stunned by the service we received during my stay on April 4!! My new Audi was broken into while it was parked in the hotel's gated secured parking area just inside the gate across from the hotel lobby door. Even though the management claimed to have heard the car alarm they did not think it important to call me or notify me in anyway that my car had been broken into. Management claims they have a night auditor who most likely would have been summoned to do a walk around but no one contacted me even though our parking information was clearly visible through the window on our dashboard as instructed. The following morning as we went to our car, we were devastated to find the passenger window broken out and safety glass littering the interior of the car. When we spoke to the staff at the lobby desk, we were told immediately they were not liable for any damages while parked in their parking structure. No offer to help clean up, call the police or walk out to assess the damages. They claimed they were aware of the incident by 6 am but I was left to discover what happened on my own. Even though we had a nice stay otherwise, management did apologize and refund my room fee, I will never stay here again. read more

Great hotel chain. Would def stay with them again on future visits to the Seattle area and request the same room with a view and french doors. Loved the staff, particularly Erica and Grayson. Check in a breeze; parking on second level best. Hubby and I got to know the Lake Union area better and we ate at some amazing restaurants (particularly Pasta Freska on west side of the lake - hotel is on the east side). We stayed at Tacoma Waterfront Silver Cloud Inn too and that was also five star experience. Only bummer was I left my umbrella in their computer room and it wasn't turned in to lost and found. Such a warm, welcoming, accommodating place to stay. I stayed here for only one night on August 19th. From the front desk to the crew working breakfast, everyone was friendly, cool, and professional. I was stressed out because I was in town for a wedding, but getting to unwind here was great. I was concerned about a luggage issue because I had to be at the wedding venue and wasn't sure if I could hold it at the hotel before my actual check-in. I called and the woman on the phone couldn't have been nicer. She was able to get me an early check-in, which allowed me to focus on practicing my wedding speech. I visit Seattle about once a year from Southern California and I will certainly be coming back. Thank you and job well done to your entire team! read more

The stay was lovely, this is an attractive hotel with great amenities, beautiful views and within walking distance to all of the downtown attractions, and if you don't want to walk they offer shuttle service. There were 6 of us who stayed three nights, the first night they didn't have rooms close to each other, but did allow us an early check in, which was convenient because we were tired from our long flight. We returned for the last two nights of our trip, and we had two spacious and comfortable rooms. They were joined by a patio space which was also convenient. Our stay was so comfortable and relaxing, the whole vacation was wonderful but the stay at this establishment enhanced our experience tremendously. BREAKFAST IS AMAZING, it is buffet-style, but the waffle bar was super fun for our three kids, and the lovely seating boasts views of Lake Union. The children also enjoyed the pool. I enjoyed the service from the front desk, the comfort of the rooms, the views, and the proximity to wonderful attractions such as the Westlake mall, the Space Needle, and Pike Place Market. Thank you for making such nice hospitality for us. We will consider a stay in this hotel again next time we visit Seattle. read more

We stayed four nights in the king suite that had a fireplace and jacuzzi tub. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was nice. I was impressed with the the size of the shower and jacuzzi tub. The fireplace wouldn't turn on a few times though. That wasn't a big deal. The business center in the lobby was helpful since we are self employed and needed to do some computer work while here. There was even printers for use. The breakfast area is on the third floor where there's a nice view of lake Union. The shuttle service was awesome! They will drop off and pick you up at three different locations. Pike Place, Pioneer Square, & Space Needle. After checking out, our flight didn't leave until that night so we asked if we could leave our car in the parking garage and use the shuttle that day. They said absolutely, which was great! We would definitely stay here again! read more

Hotel was nice, BUT....check in was 1500 and we showed up at 1430 and explained that due to our travel time we were early but we were willing to wait a few minutes. They charged our CC and then and EXTRA fee for movies or food, why?? they already had our card? So we sat in the lobby. Anyway at 1530 we went up to counter to find out they had forgotten about us and that we needed to RERUN our CC. We explained to them that I was using a Prothotic and walking was difficult, they then gave us the very last room at the end of the building over the loading dock?? Once in our room we had a difficult time finding the timer for the hot tub, due to the fact it was across the room behind a light??, and when we called the front desk they had no idea where it was. read more

Silver Cloud Inn on Lake Union was pretty much ideal because they have all the features that are important to us. It's a really nice place with nice rooms, free hot breakfast, secure limited-access free indoor parking, free wifi, and reasonable rates for such a good close-in location. For us, location is important because I want to stay at a place that's an EASY drive to downtown, the waterfront, Pike Place, Seattle Center, and the U District. . .and if I don't feel like driving, they have a free shuttle too. Also, there are many good places to eat nearby on Lake Union. I actually can't think of any downside to this place! read more

If you ever are looking for a place in Seattle this place is the absolute best! Believe me I have spent more than 50 hours the last few years looking for the Best Price Hotel, Free Breakfast and Free Parking and this place meets all those. They even have free shuttles to popular places downtown. For us they don't get to the Washington State Convention Center but that is a cheap Uber away. This is the second trade show of ours in Seattle in the last 30 days and we booked this place both times. (the jacuzzi suites are soo affordable)Across the street is the best Sushi place. Quieter than other hotels downtown and super easy right off the freeway to get to. Have I convinced you yet? The staff is soo friendly and helpful. Rooms are updated and super clean like no one has ever stayed there. Always smells fresh. We stayed here with our kids years ago and reccomend it for families as well. The free breakfast has good hot food protein options which is a must for me being gluten free. Always eggs or quiches, potatoes, sausages or bacon. Plus waffles and pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, oatmeal, juice, Seattle's best Coffee and tea. Seriously blown away. This time the pool is no longer in use. I was looking for a hotel in downtown Seattle for a weekend on short notice and had no luck! Everything was booked and i was starting to run out of options because i don't know the city at all and I wanted a nicer hotel in the center of town. After browsing the interwebs for sometime i came across Silver Cloud Inn and thought why not because it was quite close to downtown. I was actually pleasantly surprised that this place was very cozy and the hotel staff was overly helpful.The rooms are a bit older but are very clean and the breakfast is better than usual. The shuttle that is provided by the them was a great help! They took us to every where and picked us up! A good place to stay for the price and service. Recommended for sure. read more

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile from Robin. She is super sweet, kind, and caring. You could tell she loves what she does and enjoys making her guests happy. We had a beautiful king room with an amazing view of the lake! Everything was great during our stay here. The only thing that I wish we were able to take more advantage of was the shuttle. However, we just decided to uber everywhere because of timing. Otherwise, we hope to come back again to this amazing hotel and look forward to being greeted by Robin again! We had a wonderful stay at the Silver Cloud this past weekend. The room was large, spacious, and very quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. It didn't hurt that their "gift shop" was open 24 hours, and included microwave popcorn AND Haagen Dazs Ice Cream Bars for late night snack cravings. We also really enjoyed the fact that there was private parking in a very secure parking garage. The continental breakfast was very, very good as well, featuring pastries, Belgian waffles, eggs, sausage links, an assortment of breakfast cereals and beverages. My wife and I consider ourselves coffee snobs, and we both agreed that the coffee both in the room and at breakfast was quite good. Even in the rain, the views of Lake Union at breakfast were quite lovely. We highly recommend a stay here if you're looking for some place conveniently located to all of the wonderful downtown attractions that Seattle has to offer. They also offer a free shuttle service, which, had we been able to check in earlier, we would have most definitely taken advantage of. read more

This was my second visit to the Silver Cloud in the past year. On both visits I have been very happy with my room as well as the helpfulness of the staff. The rooms are very good size and the ones on the lake side have a beautiful view. It is conveniently located to downtown with onsite complementary parking. They also have a shuttle to take you to all of the touristy places. They feature Aveda bath products which is great. On Tuesday evening they have an evening reception and a great breakfast every morning. The view from the breakfast area is awesome. They have both hot and cold choices for breakfast as well as coffee, water and juices. There is a pool, spa and gym onsite but I have not had time to use them. There are a few amazing restaurants located close by and they have an agreement with another that offers delivery of dinner. You also get a complimentary paper each morning. The rates are also very reasonable. read more

I was in town for a wedding nearby and a group of rooms was reserved by the happy couple for anyone coming from out of town. They picked a great spot, because this hotel was excellent. As I was checking in, I was asked if I wanted a room with a fireplace... for no extra charge. I would be a fool to pass up on an offer like that, even if I was staying there by myself. It was pretty warm out, but I was sure to fire it up (no pun intended) every chance I got. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the front desk folks were friendly and attentive. They had no problem getting me a cab to the wedding that accepts credit cards, and there's a shuttle offered that will take you downtown. And a big bonus... they provided a quality breakfast, complete with waffle irons and eggs. Be sure not to miss this! Just be aware: If you're hoping to sleep in, try to avoid a room on the third floor. It gets pretty noisy in the morning with all the dining guests. Overall, I really had no complaints about my stay. Attractions like the Space Needle and Pike's Market aren't far way (not walking distance), and the prices were reasonable. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting from out of town. read more

This was our second visit here at the Silver Cloud Inn, and this time we were very disappointed with the service offered by the morning and late evening reception staff. On several occasions we noted the the lethargic morning reception desk clerk was hesitant on giving us the breakfast sandwich meal that was clearly stated on the daily menu. Whether you asked for it early morning at 6 am or later, it was not available. On one day it became miraculously available after he checked again and it was there. I was not upset at whether or not I ate there bagged breakfast, but rather at the obvious misrepresentation by the front reception staff. One another night the rude and flustered evening manager even misquoted us for the bottle water that they sell. She had no answer as to why they have no prices next to any of the items the sell, and why the night before the price was different. The rest of the hotel staff was wonderful and gracious, especially the ,housekeeping staff. As I will be returning to this area many times in this coming year, I will definitely compare rates and quality of services of nearby hotels next time. read more

We have an account here through my dayjob, which didn't apply for my stay, but it was how I even thought to come here in the first place -- I'd typically not think of SLU as a place to stay / visit / for anything other than a neighborhood to mostly avoid, honestly. By default, I'd either think to go downtown or out to the coast. With that said, other reviewers are on point -- you can stay here inexpensively (out the door for under $150), and have a quiet, luxurious stay, possibly with a Lake Union view. I splurged for an overnight staycation (a must from time to time when you and your person live with roommates), and upgraded to the king bed with fireplace and jacuzzi. Total cost with all the fees and taxes was under $200 -- and was worth it for the upgrades! Comfortable bed, huge tub in the actual room (with jacuzzi jets if you don't mind the noise) (I took two baths during our stay), giant shower, switch-activated fireplace, and a good-sized TV. The room was clean, showed minimal wear, and the in-room coffee (Seattle's Best) was actually drinkable in the morning. Small fridge was perfect for drink & snack storage, and there was an in-room microwave above a small kitchenette-sized sink, too. Reservation and check-in processes were both efficient and pleasant. Honestly, the only thing that failed us was the free breakfast. I mean, I get it, it's free, and it had plenty to it: eggs, fruit, waffle station or whatever, all the things you'd expect. The food itself was totally fine / edible. However, there were no plate lids / trays / ways to transport food back to your room, which would have been a nicer option than carrying open plates all the way back upstairs. I note this because eating breakfast in that space was absolutely not an option. It was crammed wall-to-wall with midwest-esque tourists and their screaming kids, which was a full frontal mellow-harsher from the previous eighteen hours of bliss in the room. Anyway -- breakfast vibes aside, I left feeling like I'd had three full body massages. Will absolutely be back. Oh, and I heard there's a gym and pool in the building someplace, but didn't see them or test them out. Next time! read more

2-@3 stars for overall condition of room. Bathroom faucet was leaky. Bathroom sink had large crack in it. Mattresses and box springs are really really old and completely squish down when you sit on the side. (See the picture I posted of the awful mattresses and box springs ) This was in 2 separate rooms so I know it's a problem through out the hotel. When I complained front desk will tell you that they do have boards available to put under the mattress to make them firmer. However we called them at 9 pm when and no one had keys to get them. So 1 star for service on that. The next day I was told that they would find boards. At 4 PM there still wasn't one. The manager on duty told me that they were out of them because too many people are asking for them. Duhhh. No kidding! For $300 a night! What a waste of money. If you weigh over 190 lbs you can expect to pretty much be sitting on the floor of you sit on these beds. I did contact the general manager and was advised that their mattress and box springs are exactly like I showed and see no problem with them. I did finally get a board for the bed which made it more tolerable and they did comp one of the 3 nights due to their bad service. This place has only one thing going for it; the location. If it is sleep you are looking for this is NOT the place. I won't be back! read more
