The staff is great but nothing tastes good. We literally ordered half of the appetizer menu and not a single dish was good

I can't believe it took me this long to write a review for this absolutely wonderful gem--a diamond…read morein the rough! This Middle Eastern and Mediterranean market has been serving the community since the 1970s. My colleagues introduced me to this hidden gem, and I've been hooked for the past 2.5 years. This local, family-owned business serves incredibly fresh, delicious food. My favorite sides are the Israeli couscous salad with currants, Craisins, edamame, red, orange, and yellow sweet peppers; the roasted cauliflower garnished with basil and tahini; and the lentil salad with caramelized onions and roasted garlic cloves that simply melt in your mouth--or, even better, spread on their fresh, house-made pita bread. My favorite hot platters are the Shish Tawook Platter, featuring perfectly seasoned chicken chunks smothered in garlic aioli with diced tomatoes and fresh herbs; the Spicy Chicken Kabob Platter; and the Black Angus Shawarma Platter, made with Black Angus beef sirloin and garlic aioli. All platters are served with rice, hummus, and fattoush salad. The platters are also available as wraps, filled with garlic aioli, parsley, lettuce, tomato, and onion, all wrapped in their freshly baked, house-made flatbread. They also carry an impressive assortment of spices, fresh pita, olives, olive oil, and many other Middle Eastern specialty items. Please come support this hidden, family-owned gem. We are losing far too many wonderful family-owned businesses, and I don't want to lose this one. They truly deserve our support. Every time I visit, the customer service is warm and welcoming. They remember their customers, greet you with a smile, and always make you feel like family. They even call me "Q" (short for Qcute), which always makes me laugh. It's those little personal touches that keep me coming back. If you're looking for authentic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food made with fresh ingredients and served by genuinely kind people, you won't be disappointed.

I had heard great things about La Vie Mediterranean from my friend, who has visited several times,…read moreso I finally decided to join a group of about 8 of us from different countries to try it for myself. I'm glad I did! The location is in the Home Depot shopping center, so it may not be the most prime location, but parking was easy and convenient, and it's close to the surrounding neighborhoods. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly and respectful host. The restaurant was nicely done, and even though we arrived a little early before the dinner rush, the atmosphere was already great. We were seated right away, and both our server and the manager came over quickly to make sure everything was taken care of. We ordered a great variety of appetizers for the table baba ghanouj, hummus, falafel, kibbeh, labneh, and fresh bread. Everything looked beautiful, smelled amazing, and tasted even better. I ordered the lamb kabab with rice, and honestly, it was so good I didn't want to share it with anyone. The music was great, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the service was fantastic. I was especially impressed with how involved and attentive the manager and server were throughout the meal. If you love Mediterranean or Middle Eastern food, or you simply enjoy trying different kinds of food, I definitely recommend giving La Vie Mediterranean a try. In my opinion, this is easily one of my top three Middle Eastern restaurants on the East Coast. Great food, great people, great service, and a really enjoyable experience. One tip: come hungry and leave room for the meal and definitely try several different appetizers! The owner really nailed it with this place. Highly recommended!

I'll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend La Vie if you're looking for a fun dinner with friends.

Did I just stumble upon the best food-find I've had all year??? How did I not know Chris' Tavern is…read morethe u disputed king of Greek cuisine this side of the Mississippi?? This place was the easiest 5 I've given in quite a bit. And I could go on for days about the ultra tender and chargrilled pork, or the sublime limey and garlicky potatoes, or the mouthwatering babagonoush (no idea how to spell that!) because that would absolutely justify a 5-star rating BUT this time it was also the friendly and kind service we received. Our waitress Vicky was so warm and upbeat, it was refreshing. She was super sweet with my 2 year old as well. When he tossed a plate of humus across the table she came and cleaned it up and was so nice about it. Then they replaced the portion my son tossed! They really didn't have to do that. Then the manager comes around checking how things are going (which in and of itself is a rare thing to see nowadays) and when we mention it's our first time he tells us about his favorite items on the menu, he even let us try a bit of their homemade baklava which I can honestly say puts every other baklava I've ever had to shame! A feast fit for Greek gods! Which are very nicely painted on the walls, giving the whole place such a nice vibe and decor. I can't wait to come back to this place. Delicious!!

The space was clean with plenty of seating, and the staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. They gave me time to browse the menu without any rush, and were ready to take my order the moment I decided. I went with the Falafel and Eggplant Pita Wrap, ordered exactly as it comes -- five crispy handmade falafels, roasted eggplant, hummus, tomato and cucumber salad, purple cabbage slaw, white onions, tomatoes, pickles, and lemon tahini sauce. What I loved about the presentation was how they sliced the pita and stuffed the toppings inside the pocket, then placed the eggplant and falafel on the outside before wrapping everything up tightly. It made for a much easier, cleaner eat -- no toppings tumbling out with every bite! My first bite was amazing. The fresh flavors really shined, the falafels were perfectly crispy, and the eggplant had that deep, savory roasted flavor. Every topping complemented the others beautifully, and I walked away completely satisfied. I am so happy I found this fast and healthy option close by! I also grabbed a baklava and a mango sparkling probiotic drink -- both delicious. Beyond the food, they have soft drinks, tea, and lemonade, plus a sauce bar with vinegar and oil if you want to customize your meal even further. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. I can't wait to come back and try their other menu options!
