Athena cafe is actually located upstairs inside this jewelry store, there was a lady sitting in the front who will tell you and direct you to the right place if you just ask or walk in. It was my first time here and the food was really good! We ordered a bunch of different things but my favorite was the grilled octopus and conck chowder! The bahama mama and mango daiquiri was delicious . Service was eh ok, the food came out very slow and we were about to leave because it was so slow. It was quite busy when we were sitting and leaving. Bathroom was decent not too dirty. Overall, a comfortable place!

WOW! Our taxi driver highly recommended this place to grab lunch while enjoying downtown Nassau. It coincided with the great reviews so we decided to give it a try. We entered through a jewelry store as the place itself sits above. Therefore, there is a staircase. The place itself was quaint. The staff was amazing! They were so friendly. Our server was so attentive while giving excellent recommendations. We started with the Chicken Avgolemono soup which was FANTASTIC! I've never had a soup like this. My husband and I split the cracked conch which was delicious. It came over fries. The sauces were also excellent. My boys enjoyed their cheeseburgers and sides. Their meals were a healthy portion. I thought prices were fair and the portions excellent. Highly recommend!

Upstairs patio in the rain was fun! Great view of people down below shopping. Had the blackberry mojito and it's was well crafted. Great food. Gyros are great and we did the snapper was good. A bit salty lemon tang but balance well with the rice and veggies.

Great food, good and fast service. Owner was very nice. Stopped and chatted with us for a bit. Would definitely recommend Athena Cafe on your stop in Nassau. Enter in through the jewelry store and take the stairs right up to get to restaurant. We were very hungry and ate the food so fast before I realized I wanted pictures

Stopped in for lunch. Excellent service. Great menu. Food came out fast and was tasty. Reasonably priced for the area.

    Lamb gyro and potato wedges.

Stopped at Athena Cafe for lunch on Wednesday and ordered lamb gyro. The gyro was satisfactory, nothing special. The lamb consisted of three or four strips of well cooked lamb coupled with lettuce, tomatoes and sauce. Home fries or potato wedges were quite good. The restaurant has several inside tables and six or more tables overlooking Bay Street. As noted in another review, you enter a jewelry store and climb the stairs to the right to reach the restaurant.

I'm here helping my daughter move into her apt and I just couldn't stomach anymore fast food which dominates the area. Checked yelp, saw this spot mentioned and said yep that's the one. Holy heck I'm so glad I ventured over because this sh*t is the bomb. Firstly the woman at the counter (kicking myself for not getting her name) was so warm, friendly, and welcoming and easy to talk to. I walked past a few people in front of me to grab a take out menu and she greeted me with a huge smile and handed me a dine-in menu saying it's bigger and they have so much good stuff to look at. She wasn't kidding - I was overwhelmed. Dining solo so I knew I couldn't get all the apps I wanted to try, and it's always a tad nerve wracking being alone in a new place. When it was my turn to order she made me feel comfortable and provided some advice on what to order. I settled on the Schawarma combination platter and chose tabouli and hummus as my 2 sides. It only took maybe 15 minutes (if that) and when my order was up she showed me my dinner and holy hell it ruined my drive back to the apt. I have never seen hummus that looked so good. The meat, the tabouli--wow. The ten min trip back was hell on wheels when all I could think about was the meal awaiting me in the black takeout bag sitting beside me. Finally got back and the first taste of the hummus with the oil and garlic and I don't even know what other magic was sprinkled on there was so good, I had to stop myself from gorging on just the pita and hummus and try the schawarma. The meats were tender, juicy and full of flavor. The tabouli was the perfect complement, fresh and refreshing. It's a very generous portion and I was only able to finish about half the platter. I am coming back before I head back home - this place will occupy space in my brain every time I'm craving Mediterranean food. If you're looking for something different, do yourself a favor and skip the Cane's and McDonald's and give Sarah's a try.

We werent sure whether to seat ourselves or order at the counter, was asked amd wete told to pick a table and did. It was a while before we were waited on and while the sandwiches were really good we were never checked on after we got them so couldnt get more water or anything and then waited a while before realizing you pay on the way out. The food was great, the service was just sort of confusing and lacking.
