This review is of Cafe Matisse located in Nassau, The Bahamas…read more For some reason, it's not listed on Yelp, but it definitely should be! Cafe Matisse is located on Bank Lane. It's an upscale and glamorous restaurant with garden seating as well as indoors on the main floor or upstairs. It's eloquently decorated and posh. The service and food is top shelf. Pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. If there's one special restaurant on your to-do list, Cafe Matisse is it.

Up the stairs and you enter the most charming bar and lounge area that also has an open air patio overlooking the walk below. The dining room is bright, elegant and Colonial. What we had: French onion soup was amazing, just like in France and it was hot not lukewarm like other reviews suggest. Lots of cheese and I could share with my hubby or eat alone as a meal! The Nicooise salad was also very good, and just the right size for a starter. Lots of fresh ingredients and generous amounts of fresh tuna. Delish! Main course: Branzino was amazing! Simple yet tasty grilled to perfection, crispy skin and topped with olives, red onions and tomatoes over a bed of pea purée. Herb crusted snapper also very good, large portion very fresh. Served overtop tomato purée. We also ordered a side of broccolini which was good but some of the larger pieces were a little tough. No space for dessert! Next time! Servers are all very nice and very fast! I think a little longer break in between our appies and main would have been better and we would have had room for dessert. I highly recommend coming here when visiting Atlantis, the food if fabulous, you get what you pay for and much better than some of the other restaurants here. I didn't mind paying for this meal it was on point.

WOW. What a beautiful place. Oh, and the food is pretty good also…read more From the moment you arrive, you know this place is first class. The first thing you see is a beautiful pool that overlooks the ocean. We came in for dinner. We heard that this was the place to see the sunset. Maybe you'll even get to see the flash if you're lucky. We had some clouds in the distance, so we were not so lucky. We got a table outside, in the corner of the deck. It was a nice spot to watch everything around you. We had wonderful weather during our trip, so there was a nice breeze which made it very comfortable. The menu has some really nice choices. Plus, there was a chefs special. We ordered the lobster and a special but substituted the grouper for the salmon. I ordered the grouper grilled, and it was very tender, fresh, and really tasty. The lobster was just right. Everything was perfectly cooked. Remember, everything is a la cart. So, each item is charged individually. Just FYI. The service was good. They were right there when we needed something. The meal came out quickly. We really got to enjoy a nice evening of great food, good drinks, and nice atmosphere. Very romantic. When on the island, you must try this place. This is a must.

A lot of the restaurants get super busy at meal times and do not have space. This is one of the few restaurants that we could get a table without too much of a wait at the last minute. We found all the restaurants on Baha Mar to be on the pricey side. So while Stix doesn't seem super formal there is a premium price. If you have kids 5 or under, they eat free with an adult main. As others have mentioned. The food isn't too spicy. So ended up being a good place to visit with kids. Trip Advisor seems more popular in Baha Mar. The tables had QR codes for leaving them a review on trip advisor. So would recommend checking out the reviews there too.

Knowing that, we went in with low expectations and to our surprise we were not disappointed. I split the Szechuan wings and devoured my order of the Black Pepper Beef Udon. I was only able to stay three nights so besides the breakfast buffet, the standouts of my Baha Mar dining experience were at Stix and at 25N. Prices are at a premium but I'm pleased I was able to satisfy my Asian food fix!

We decided to walk (about fifteen minutes) to get here and we are so glad we did. Outside the door was a woman giving samples of a local alcohol, and while it was delicious we didn't want to buy any because we would have had to check in and pick it up later after our cruise ended. The inside of the place was very small and bustling with other people and workers. You can see directly into the room where they were making the cakes fresh. It smelled so good in there. A worker told us to try all the different samples and we did! Our favorite was the original rum cake and the coffee one. We decided to buy six and they told us we would get a FREE shot at their outdoor bar if we show them the receipt. The rum cakes are delicious and dangerous because you can finish one on your own within moments because they are so sweet, rum forward and small (in a good way). We even had the worker helping us box our cakes pick her favorite couple to put in our box. Prices are reasonable and if you can't make it here, they also over shipping on their website! Everyone needs to try their amazing rum cakes at least once in their life! I demand it!

When in Nassau, do yourself a favor and visit the "Bahamas Rum Cake Factory". If you're a fan of…read morethis irresistibly delicious cake as I am, this is the place where it all started. This was my first time ever visiting the city of Nassau as well as my first time checking out the country of the Bahamas. And what made this convenient is that the cruise ship that stopped here (as Nassau is one of the main ports), we had a guided tour that gave us 15 minutes to check this place out. Located directly on Bay St. and nestled in between Devaux St. and Christie St., this place has been in operation since the year 2000. And ever since 2014, it has been recognized as the official rum cake of the Bahamas. This place is relatively small but still big enough to accommodate tours from various buses and shuttles. Inside, you will find samples of their original rum cake and I've got to tell you, this was moist, sweet, and absolutely delicious. You will also find other very popular flavors in their gift shop including Piña colada, pineapple, key lime, and several others. There is also a small area selling several Bahamian hot sauces, marinades, sodas, and ever apparel to take back home. The staff/employees were very accommodating even though our tour group thoroughly enjoyed the factory. The exterior of the building was colorful and absolutely stood out even when driving on busy Bay St. I ended up purchasing several boxes of their original rum cake (priced at $7 USD) to take home as well to give for family & friends. Best of all, this place accepts cash, debit, as well as Apple/Google Pay. And what makes their factory special is that the cakes have roughly a 2-year shelf life if left unopened. All in all, this place is excellent but keep in the mind, the cakes are quite sweet. So if that is to your liking, I would highly recommend visiting this place. My rating for the "Bahamas Rum Cake Factory", a perfect five stars.
