From the gentleman who welcomed us at the bar to our outstanding waiter, every interaction was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. Chantell and her entire team made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. The number #1 thing about Perfect Day is that even though 2 mega-ships with many guests might come to the island in one day, there will be free SHADED loungers close to the ocean available, even if you come later in the day. That was the case for our party of four, who left the ship around 10 am since we knew food wouldn't be available until at the earliest 10:30. We actively searched for the shuttle that would transport you from the exit bridge of the ship, over the long pier (deep since it needs to stick out far enough into the deep ocean for the mega ships to be able to dock), to the entrance of the park. From there, one can take one of either two shuttles. The less busier one going to the pay-to-enter private beach. The other going to the other side of the island, where Chill Island and South Beach are. We found two sets of 2 together lounge chairs facing the ocean and got comfortable. Wi-Fi is supposed to work here, but we found it really didn't. And because there were so many people using cellular (the island is considered a part of the Bahamas), international plans didn't really work well either. The water is very calm so we were able to wade into the water and admire the small schools of fish. Others saw a manta ray, along with schools of jellyfish. The buffet opened early and I made myself a cheeseburger with all the toppings. It was delicious. There was beach beverage service so got two margaritas for my wife and me, and we sipped them while sitting down on the shallow sand in the water. We didn't stay very long, and left to get back on the boat. Even though we left early, it was still difficult to find empty seats on the next available shuttle. There was no employee maintaining queue/line control, so one had to be aggressive to get a spot. We were able to do so on our 2nd attempt. Once we got back to the pier, there was a well controlled line to take us back to the ship.

I go on cruises for the destinations. This is a big resort that is an island unto itself, accessible only to passengers of Royal Caribbean cruise ships. (Sister cruise lines also port here as well, I believe.) You will only set foot here if you are on a cruise with this as a port of call on your itinerary. It is large enough that there are multiple beaches connected by ten-minute tram rides. There are many beaches and pools; many of the pools have swim-up bars. Those are neat, I think. I liked sitting at a stool, in the water, at a bar. The whole operation works just as if you were onboard the ship, so you will use your keycard to pay for things, and if you have a drink package as part of your cruise, it will work here. There are food stands, and a substantial buffet area, with free offerings that are comparable to what you get on a RCCL ship. There are two areas that require a paid day pass in order to access them. I decided to shell out for "Hideaway Beach", the adults-only part of the island. It was child-free as promised, and had a loud DJ-party atmosphere. Nothing too different otherwise. There is a more expensive area called "Coco Beach Club" where kids are allowed but it's expensive so I didn't go. Better food there, I guess. There is a big water park that I didn't try; you have to buy a day pass to experience any of it. I did do the zipline, though. That was pretty fun. Overpriced, maybe. There are many other activities available which you'll learn about by checking for shore excursions on your cruise. If you don't want to spend any money and your ship is here for the day, you can still enjoy a lot of the island. There are lots of deck chairs by pools and on beaches. I know a lot of people really like this thing; there are cruises where the only port of call is Perfect Day At Coco Cay. I'm glad I checked it out, at least.

We chose to dine outside because the weather was absolutely beautiful, which made for a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Once our food was delivered, no one returned to check on us. We honestly started to wonder if they had forgotten we were sitting outside. Overall, the snapper was good and I'm glad we tried it based on the recommendation, but between the pricing and lack of attentive service, I wouldn't return on my next visit to Nassau.
