After getting 12 tubes of blood drawn ( yup, not a typo) we stopped at Toulas because I had heard they started serving breakfast. Great decision! Everything cooked to order. My husband had the Greek omelet with gyro meat and pita bread and I had the traditional breakfast., Perfectly cooked with the potatoes being a carb fiend's delight. Crunchy on the outside and pillowy soft inside. If you haven't been, it's a small place with delicious Greek food. Now they have real silverware and plates!! It's a win win! Prices very reasonable as well. And you won't be late for work.

Had lunch w a colleague We both got Greek salads, no protein. Big salads with the standard ingredients for a Greek salad. Too few olives. They were okay. Others were busy ordering burgers, gyros and assorted platters. Good portions. read more

I had the greek salad with chicken and he boss had the falafel wrap. The salad lettuce, spinach, cucumbers and onions were very fresh. The dolmas were tasty. And the chicken was seasoned well and grilled perfectly. My wife's wrap had excellent prepared falafel with a hummus. Filed with lettuce and spinach and feta, this wrap was packed with punch. And lastly, the price point is beyond fair. This is the best value meal you can get, great food for a great price. read more

The gyros are excellent, says hubby. I Don't know what they do to that spinach in the Mediterranean salad, but it is so very delicious! I first ordered it by accident, as I'm not totally fond of spinach. The Mediterranean salad was so delicious then that I ordered it again yesterday. It is amazing! The vinaigrette is very delicious and it comes with hummus. The restaurant is the sit-in / carryout type with a little courtyard in the back as well. The food is very delicious, and as far as I can tell, very very Greek. We will always come back when in the area. read more

Other than the cluster of picking the food up, we thought it was all delicious. The portions seemed on the smaller size for a platter that supposedly can feed 2-3 people but with our extra entrees, it was the perfect amount for us. The hummus was great with the warm pita, the meat was all flavorful, and the baklava was a great way to end the meal. The "salad" that comes with the Sultan Feast isn't really a salad but just a few cut up veggies. Overall, I felt bad for the 2 ladies running the front alone because they were very busy and they kept apologizing for the wait times. The food was great though and we would definitely order it again.

Service is perfect, the water glass never got past half empty (needed after 9 hole in heat advisory and 90F plus weather) It was nice fresh water! We got some pita and hummus for a little app. Pretty good, the hummus was a little thin for dipping and spreading more like a dressing consistency, but tasted great! The pita was fresh baked and properly done. Wife got a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. She said it was very good and the greens and cheese were fresh and flavorful. The chicken was a little charred/burnt edged but not dry. 8/10 I got the Beet Salad and thought this would be my last try for falafel on a salad. (the last three other restaurants it has been a greasy fried ball of "bread crumb sand". yech! Well not here at L'Olive - just the opposite!!!!!! A nice filling that was moist and not bready, just beans and herbs and a nice filling. A LIGHTY fried and NOT very oily at all! 10/10 Falafel is back on my vegan/WFPB/Nutritarian food list. Now the wife ordered the Nevermind Pressed Burger with extra cheese and black coffee steak sauce. NEVERMIND?? More like Never mind my diet! One bite then another then another and suddenly her plate looked like the dishwasher had already been there. The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, cheesy, and that steak sauce should be illegal in at least 12 states. Meanwhile, I ordered the 10 oz. Skirt Steak with jasmine rice, carrots, green onions, and their house made Asian marinade. Listen whoever made that sauce I need the recipe, your autograph, and your retirement plan. I was this close to asking for a to go cup so I could pour it on my cereal tomorrow morning. The live band had me singing songs from back in the day don't ask which ones. Some of y'all are detectives and I'm not giving away my age! And a huge shout-out to Athena! She knew that menu like she wrote it herself. Friendly, funny, attentive she made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. So thank you, Uncle Leroy! Between the food, the music, the atmosphere, and my wife stealing 97% of the dessert, this was the perfect way to end an unforgettable Father's Day getaway. Five stars. I got dressed up and walked over there. My table was ready on time; it was in the lounge area of the restaurant. They offered me the table or said I could sit at the bar. I opted to sit at the bar. The bar was almost full but people were leaving. Apparently people eat early there. The bartender was swamped but smiled and got me a glass of water. Soon I had menus. I like that they have a regular menu as well as a specials menu, including the usual cocktails and some special cocktails. I ordered the conquest, which seemed like a twist on an old fashioned. They offered bread or focaccia bread, I declined. And heads up- bread service is not included. It's an up charge. Normally I don't care but I was having dessert, not bread. I had the halibut special. It was phenomenal. One of the guys from the kitchen dropped it off and asked if I needed anything'- I replied salt. I find that I need salt often at restaurants. They brought the salt out real fast! I had a bite and determined it didn't need any more salt- it was perfectly salted! Woohoo! Fantastic. I ate my whole dish and then I savored my cocktail. The bartender wasn't much for conversation , as she was very busy, alone, covering the entire bar and drinks for the whole restaurant. She did invite me to try dessert, and mentioned a coconut cream cake that was not on the menu. I agreed to it and it was heavenly. Seemed like cheesecake icing with fluffy layers of cake and subtle coconut flakes throughout. The chocolate ice cream was weird at first but then I realized it's like almond joy/ mounds - coconut and chocolate are often paired. The espresso crumble gave it a nice crunch and there was caramel all over the plate. Wow! I took the majority of the cake home. It was a large portion and indulgent. I paid my tab and finished my drink. I was not rushed. I would go back again. It's a bit pricey. The fish special was $58. The cocktail was $17 and the dessert was $16. So one person, who did not add on the bread service, was $91. It's expensive. I would emphasize you can probably get a seat at the bar if you can't get a reservation. Also- the entrance is hard to find. It's in the parking lot and not facing the main road. I got a little lost walking there. The signage is poor. I can't imagine going there the first time in the dark. So give yourself a couple extra minutes if it's your first time going there.

I have dined in at this restaurant on a few occasions and have been very pleased with the service and food. The only complaint would be the lack of seating as it is a small store front. This is truly a compliment to them anyway, that all the seats are filled. Today I ordered and had it delivered to my work. I will say that my work is located nearby the restaurant, however, the time I placed the call for my order was 11:09am, it was delivered to me by 11:25am. It's easy to give this place a five star rating. It's clean and smells good, and the food was amazingly fresh and delicious. It's right in downtown Punta Gorda. But I am so pleased with was the generous portion. It's nice to get a turkey wrap with more than two slices of turkey. And having lived in Detroit where they have a great town in New York New Jersey where there's quick diners everywhere, I can tell you this place deserves it's five star rating. They recommended sitting at the bar which I did and I told the barmaid that I would be in a hurry. She said no problem and I had the yellow tail With some type of hollandaise sauce. Came here for an authentic Gyro since well it's a Greek place. Well dissatisfied is an understatement. The gas station down the street run by Indians has better Gyros. These ppl can barely make hot dogs. Save your money. Go next door to Italia or River City grill or even the dumpy Blue turtle is better. read more
