Everything went very well. The owner is amazing. She makes several specials every single day; recites them in detail and then brings our order to the table! She knows how to use spices and seasonings just like the best chefs in restaurants in large cities. Her menu is Mediterranean with Turkish overtones. I've been there four times since February and have tried something different each time. There is a dessert I've had three times and it's spectacular; called Strawberry Dubai. YUM!! read more

This has been bookmarked, finally got a chance to go. This will be one of our go tos in the area. If you love Mediterranean food, this is the place in the Treasure Coast! Very warm and friendly ambience. Not too big and noisy, it's tucked ina little u shaped plaza off Jensen Beach Blvd. Our server was selling us in the Chefs platter which we will try next time. Leslie was our server and she was terrific! She did a great job of explaining everything. The chef, Laurie came out to talk to us about the menu as well. We started with the fried artichokes and baba ganush.. amazing and the pita was wonderful as well. My husband had the branzino which he said was excellent. I had the falafel wrap which was one of the best ever. My friend had the the grilled octopus and another friend had the Ikender (?) which was a lamb dish. Everyone was very full and satisfied. This restaurant is a gem. The menu reflects the cuisine of the once vibrant and large Turkish Jewish Community plus select Middle Eastern staples. A very cute little spot. The owner welcomed me, seated me, and ran through the specials. The service was amazing. Cozy & friendly. The food was good. I ordered a dish of "gyro like" meat. It was tasty, thought I personally would have liked less meat and more of the delicious grilled veggies. But it was what I ordered, so that is no fault of the restaurant. Recently moved to the area and was craving Mediterranean but also wanted to find a vegetarian option as we had family visiting-when this spot popped up. I'm so glad we gave it a try as it was a great experience. Upon walking in it was a wife and husband duo that were cooking and waiting tables alone, while keeping a friendly and attentive atmosphere. The woman was so friendly and funny and willing to be of maximum assistance as we had a toddler with us. We ordered a veggie w yogurt for an appetizer, small lentil soup, chicken kebab, lamb dish, falafel plate and the pistachio ricotta cake slice and she accommodated fries for our toddler. Everything was scrumptious and very authentic to their Turkish background. Portions were generous and pricing was on par. What a cool comfortable mom & pop type restaurant that serves quality food that is comparable to any five Star Mediterranean restaurant that specializes in Turkish flavors and all home made dishes. Here you are paying a premium for this food and it is well worth it in taste and flavors. The chef is a dynamic lady with a fabulous sense of humor. The lamb kabobs were so tender you could cut it with a fork. Calamari was very lightly dusted and not over cooked. The lentil soup was very flavorful and hearty. Can't tell you how awesome the staff is here. You are taken care by 2-3 wait staff and head manager. Awhile ago I was looking for a restaurant that made a salad with gyro meat. Well the kindness of this manager was that she went above and beyond as she stated she would make that for me although not on the menu which made me feel special before I even went there until today. My husband had chicken kabobs with rice and roasted vegetables. He cleaned the plate! My son whom they thought we were the grandparents he set them correctly. lol He started with a mushroom and Brie soup that we shared and it was delicious! Then he had falafel that was huge! I had great salad with great dressing and nice crispy gyro meat. No where have I eaten gyro as wonderful as this was. I honestly recommend this establishment the whole of the experience and food was a perfect and remarkable and refreshing. read more

Well, the reviews are correct! I tried to come here a couple weeks ago, but they were closed. Called tonight and they welcomed us in to one of the best dinners I've had in a couple months! First of all, I'm not a big Greek fan, my wife and daughter are. I was pleasantly surprised to find they serve more than gyro's, LOL! Mediterranean dishes can be so much more with a Turkish flair. As appetizers, we had the beets and cashew dipping sauce and also the Goat cheese with fig crostini. Delicious! I was sold from the moment I tasted the goat cheese appetizer. Those were followed by the grilled octopus entre, the meat filled charred eggplant entre and the lamb kabob. We shared all three with a bottle of Merlot. All were crafted with care and the flavor profile was exquisite! We finished with a ricotta and pistachio cake which was the perfect ending - not too sweet, but played off the savory dishes so well! Saw the good reviews and decided to check it out. I had the grilled Octopus which was cooked perfectly and came with a cashew dipping sauce which was incredible . Didn't need a knife to cut. Oh my, how have I not reviewed Fig & Olive Cafe yet? I thought I had already but this shall not be overlooked any further! SCW and I have been frequenting Fig & Olive Cafe from a few days after they opened. Right away we could see the high quality of the ingredients, the care every dish is made with and the outstanding service that comes from the owners and staff. The interior is lovely, warm and very inviting. You'll find many tables inside and a few outside if that is your preference. The decor is so warm and interesting it really adds to the space. The tables are beautiful and well crafted. The food, oh my, the food. I am vegetarian and all of the food here is simply incredible. Home made mostly from scratch using high quality ingredients, always fresh, always delicious. We have tried many of the vegetarian dishes while my current favorite is the falafel wrap. It comes in an amazing pita so rich with flavors and stuffed full of fresh veggies, onions, tahini sauce and of course the falafel. It's huge but I've always finished mine in one sitting, SCW not so much. The red lentil soup is also a favorite, it is so rich and creamy with a lemon wedge as a side. I also enjoy the spicy puree (I don't remember it's proper name) which is a real delight with just the right hint of spice and depth of flavor. I also really enjoy the roasted beets which are topped with probably the most delicious cashew cream sauce I've ever had. Really, everything I've tried here is simply outstanding. Such high quality ingredients and care go into all of the food here you simply can't go wrong with anything. If you happen to be vegan speak up, you will love what you order. They also have a selection of wine, my current go to is the Turkish white wine. It's refreshing and light and compliments most dishes. The service is amazing. Always warm and friendly no matter if it is the owners or the staff. The prices are great as well. You can also find spices, and dried figs, olives, and so much more at what we call the "gift shop" (coolers near the register which we always visit on our way out to get more goodies to go). I had Ikechen which is an open faced lamb gyro, omg it's so delicious, they top it with brown butter, sounds diff I know, but it's sooo delish. Came with grilled veggies, sliced tomato, loved it!! I had a truly horrible and frankly baffling experience at this location. I arrived on a Tuesday to deliver a package as part of route. There was a pink sign on the door that clearly stated the restaurant was "Closed for colonoscopy until Thursday," and the place looked empty from the outside. Following standard delivery procedures, I left a "We missed you" tag on the door and was about to leave when someone suddenly came out and started accusing me of ignoring them on purpose. This was surprising since the sign clearly said they were closed, and I hadn't seen anyone inside. Even after I went back to get the package and tried to deliver it, the employee continued to be confrontational, refused to sign for the package, and then accused me of trespassing. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional situation, and the person even removed the sign from the door to cover up the fact that it said they were closed. In the end, I had to call the police just to make sure everything was documented. In short, my experience was extremely negative. I hope this was a one-off incident, but I would advise others to be cautious because it was my first time here and I absolutely do not feel comfortable going back. I can't genuinely speak for the food but I wouldn't trust someone with a hateful character like that. read more

Came here on a Friday night after a horrible week of Hurricane Miton and all the Tornadoes. Still without power to the house, we wanted to go somewhere where we could sit and chill and be taken care of. And we were absolutely taken care of. We were the only people in the restaurant when we arrived, and we were warmly greeted by Lorrie, one of the owners. We had a great time / conversation with her the whole night. She was very sweet, very personable, and felt more like a friend. I said we loved this type of food (it was our first time there) and she asked 'how much did we want to spend', we picked a number, and then she came up with a platter of all sorts of appetizers; Mostly cold but a few hot items. We love Mediterranean food, but never had Turkish food (similar to Greek or Israeli but with a Turkish twist) so this was right up our alley. We paired with a few glasses of wine. The appetizer platter filled our bellies, so we didn't order anything additional. Lorrie wanted us to try her rice pudding so she provided some to us, and boy was it good (very rich!). I went with a group of 4 adults and a toddler for lunch around 3pm on a Saturday. We were seated and served by the owner, who was very energetic and pleasant. She was great at describing the specials and at making recommendations. We had some very tasty dishes for starters including one that consisted of roasted vegetables in a sea of Greek yoghurt. Their lamb stew was very tasty and the pita bread was warm and delicious. We had the pistachio ricotta cake and it was light and unbelievably good. Wow, what a slightly hidden gem. The Restaurant is welcoming , casual and unpretentious. The food was fantastic. My wife is not a fan of Mediterranean food but is still raving about her delicious chicken kabobs. We devoured the soft warm pitas with tasty babba ganoush and stuffed grape leaves. The lamb kabobs was also tender and delicious. The additional treat is the staff and owner. Attentive, happy, efficient and friendly. Our waitress Emily, and the owner checked on us and every other table a few times. Even if you're not a fan of Mediterranean food try this place for the chicken kebabs. To those who complained about the ambiance I suggest you stick with the many places with "ambiance" that will happily serve you mediocre food at $60 per entree. We went to one of those places during our stay and found tables w/o tablecloths and plain decor. I prefer great food and service.
