The shop is in a bright pink building on Palama St. And although it may be a bit challenging to drop off/pick up your item, AJ is quick to meet you, offload your furniture, and guide you out of the short driveway. I am writing to address the issues I have experienced with Ohana Shading Systems, including…read moreineffective customer service, poor workmanship, and safety hazards resulting from their installation. I left a voicemail on their business line, and a person named Jonathan called back, stating that they will not perform significant repairs, citing safety hazards for my children and the poor quality of the job. There are construction errors on two of the main systems, with gaps between both the back and main entrance new systems, causing heavy flooding and fall hazards due to mildew buildup. More importantly, I have images and videos showing the load-bearing beam rotting from water being trapped between the existing roof and the new shading system. Additionally, the installation was poorly executed and of low quality. We waited six months for the installation, with materials stored in our yard the entire time. The company that delivered the materials picked coconuts and left their mess for me to clean up. To make matters worse, the third-party installers were unprofessional, cussing at each other during their shift, smoking marijuana on the property, and cameras caught them entering our home while no one was present. The installers also left extra materials in our yard after completing the job. Although we have a warranty for their work until 2030, the company is now refusing to fix the issues. These guy's need to be exposed. If anyone has a similar issue with this horrific company please reach out to kipperz808@yahoo.com. As you can see in all of Jonathans replies to other reviews he tries to justify his pilau companies flaws. So sad how he goes around telling lies. There was a mix up on our new phone number and they unpacked the box to fix it before shipping out. The awning was amazing and easy to put up. We found out that our phone number still had the last four digits messed up (utility companies fault) and Tropical J's sent us new ones and walked us through the process to switch them out. First, it takes a while just to schedule someone to come out. Second, the man who came to my home was rude and condescending, took forever, and didn't seem to know what he was doing. Third, it took forever to hear back (3-4 weeks), only to be told that they can't order what we're looking for.
