I can see clearly now the rain is gone! Island windows and doors has been the epitome of what keeping it local truly means. Mana and his team has walked us through every step of the way from his mobile showroom to the wonderfully clear product. Mana also told me to try and find pricing on his competitors...not even close and not to even sacrifice quality. Unfortunately, we had some busted screens during the process of the home construction, but Kawika (service bruddah) came out checked um, and when he was here I kept asking, what about this one and this one and this one too. He just took them all out, got them repaired and reinstalled them no questions asked. Super Aloha.And this is months after we've been living in the house. Would I recommend....absolutely! Maybe Mana can also throw in a round of golf at OCC as well if you purchase now. Update update, nearly a year later Kawika was very thorough and wanted to ensure our sliding doors were working. He was very tedious and ensured they were installed to the best of his ability. He also noticed walking by some windows that there were some weep holes missing and he offered to fix that too! This company has stolen $17,026 of our money (more, since this does not factor in the rising cost of materials if and when we can afford to proceed with this work, having lost over $17K, or the interest we would have received the past 11+ months on this $). We are now having to resort to legal action. We prepaid the $17K last Sept. 2025 for 3 sliding glass doors and a window. On Sept. 5, Mana told us installation would happen in November. November came and went. Since then we have repeatedly emailed, called and texted both Mana and Paul. We got some response initially, and a promise for delivery in Spring 2026. Spring came and went. We have since been completely ghosted as we have tried to contact them, sometimes daily, asking for an installation date or for a refund. In late July, we sent a letter from a lawyer saying that if we did not receive the materials we have paid for, or a refund within 3 weeks, we would pursue legal action. Unfortunately, this is now what we are forced to do. This company installed windows for us a few years ago and our experience was good. I provided a 5-star rating in 2023. We maintain some hope that Paul and Mana will do the minimally correct thing and deliver the materials we have paid for, or refund our money. read more

Island Windows & Doors gave us a fair price and delivered exactly what we expected within the quoted timeline. They use Renovate Hawaii for installation, and those guys were excellent too. The windows were delivered directly to our house by a courier, which was a surprise but actually made things easier since there was no need to coordinate a pickup beforehand. We have given them over $17000 (see also Cynthia F's post below and the outrageous response to it, where they completely ignore our complaint about the theft of our money). That was over a year ago. The work has not been done yet, despite repeated REPEATED requests and communications from us. First they gave us some stories about delays and now for the past several months they have completely ghosted us. Renovate Hawaii was the installers for Island Windows & Doors: We purchased this condo in December 2024. During our walkthrough, the previous owner told us that Renovate Hawaii had shattered the window on the lanai BUT it would be fixed by Renovate Hawaii. We closed escrow trusting that everything would be fixed as we have all of the paperwork. In April 2025, while replacing the shattered window the installers broke a style strip down the side of the window. This lets air inside the condo as this is the seal for the window. Matt Tanaka, the owner, submitted a replacement AND has been fully aware of this issue. It is now October 7, 2025 and the style strip has not been delivered and we don't receive any updates from Matt Tanka unless we call. During our call to Matt today, he said he needed to place another order on October 4, 2025, as the previous order was lost in the mail. Matt says it takes 3 months to ship. THIS IS ABSOUTELY RIDICULES AS WHY IT THIS ORDER NOT FEDEX OVERNIGHT FROM COLUMBIA. BUYER BEWARE - BOTH THE SHATTERED WINDOW AND THE BROKEN STYLE STRIP WERE BOTH A RESULT OF RENOVATE HAWAII WORKSHIPMEN. Don't buy from Island Windows & Doors if Renovate Hawaii installs them. I am writing this email in regards to the disappointment my wife and I have for a local company named Island Windows.  Prior to deciding on which window company to go with, we done our fair share of research but decided to support local along with a company that honored there serviceman having served myself.  Fast forward and our installation came.  Anthony and his team did a great job!  A week later with our new windows we noticed that all of our bedrooms except for 1 didn't have privacy glass. We excepted the mistake, waited for a replacement and it was fixed. Then, throughout the following months we noticed a stress crack on my kids room, along with one of the windows rails popping up on the side, and difficulty in raising our single hung windows which was occurring on a few of them. Preston must have came to our house at least 5 times within the past year or two in which I've had to take off numerous times from work. Preston just left and we are still not satisfied on how difficult it is to raise our single hung windows. He agrees that the quality isn't the way it should be. There are other windows in our home that slides like butter and locks perfectly but yet we still got a couple with issues. Another issue we just discovered is that some windows have the double lock and some have single locks. No big deal but where is the uniformity? I am pretty laid back and not a big fan of shaming companies with bad reviews but this is asking for one. Are you guys able to make this right? We can tell you right now that we are not waiting for another repair. We'll just deal with it and move on. House flooded last year and it messed up the frame and dry wall in the front of the house. We had to change out our windows. I search around and got quotes from a bunch of companies and found Island Windows and Doors to be the most reasonable. Kawika came out quickly in their mobile show room and went over all the details. I wasn't rushed and felt like he cared. He came and took a look and did measurements. He gave me some ideas and answered all my questions. We stayed in contact during the entire process. Easy to get a hold of and he responded quickly. He wrote up several estimates depending on different window configurations. Never felt rushed and communication was amazing. After I put my order it only took 3 months too get my custom windows. Jack took over from their and hooked me up with Anthony, there preferred installation company. He was great as well coming to do the some measurements as well. Since I live in a small townhouse I needed the windows delivered and installed on the same day. They accommodated this request! So here we are another 6 weeks later and when I contacted Paul via Yelp messenging, he said he thought I was asking about repairs. I explained than when all the windows were installed, we were informed there was one broken that they would replace. Close to a year later, NOTHING. I gave a 5 star review. I can't figure out why they are so highly rated. I had a really bad experience. George is a nice guy, pretty hard to get a hold of once I paid for the windows though. Anthony that measured for the windows really pushed to measure them on a day I was in Maui for work and couldn't wait a day for me to be around. As a result, 2 windows do not open in the direction I want them to (my fault for not insisting on being there). I paid for 11 windows, but only received 10. One window is broken (see picture). They took 5 months instead of the 8-10 weeks I was quoted, the reason I chose them (at least the other window companies are honest and will tell you the windows will take 4-5 months). 3 windows are hard to open. 2 were measured incorrectly and are 3 1/2" too small, requiring reframing (what's the point of getting custom windows if you have to add structure just to use them, might as well have gone to Home Depot and picked them up instead of waiting 5 months). And finally Anthony really insisted on installing the windows during the recent Kona low when there was several inches of driving rain here on the Windward side, I was at least smart enough to turn him down and wait for a nicer day. Do yourself a favor and try elsewhere. If you do roll the dice with them, I hope you are a window expert, otherwise insist on being there for the window measurement and installation. read more

We hired Island Windows and Doors to supply windows and doors for our new build. It has been beyond frustrating to get them to respond to issues pertaining to our sliding glass doors, which were very wrong from the start.....I have never left a negative review, but we have literally waited weeks for there responses in regards to multiple issues throughout the process. 1) The one sliding door came with 2 different types of handles and would not close becasue they were bowed.....we asked them to repalce and they sent over a tech to "make it right" the doors ere still bowed and would not even close. We contacted them 9x (not exagerating), and took 3.5 months to have them replaced or create solution. They told us things like " Sorry we are really busy" . (This wasLast year time frame 2021) 2) Now after we moved in.....Our large door ($11k) is separating at the base and faulty. Again contacted them several times asking them for a solution. They said they will get back to us. We have contacted them via phone call and email 5x without a proper response. Finally Wednesday the 13th I wrote this email: Hi Island Windows and Doors Team, We have been very disappointed with the lack of follow up and care for us as customers. We will be elevating our pressure to receive at least an email/ call back. Here will be our steps to get the proper service. 1) We will be reviewing your business on Google/ Yelp and other platforms 2) Reporting this to DCCA/ BBB 3) Civil Suit I am writing this in hopes that we can avoid these steps and you can provide the needed attention to this matter. After having and using the windows for awhile, Kawika did an a great job to make sure everything is still working as it should.
