This is our second time installing shades into our home using Shades West. Danny and his team are always amazing. He is so professional, punctual, organized, friendly, and knowledgeable. Everything, from obtaining an estimate to installation, was super smooth and stress free. I hope we don't have to move again, but if we do, I will definitely be contacting them! Thank you, Danny! read more

This review is long overdue but Shades West did a phenomenal job at upgrading our condo! Danny and his team went above and beyond assisting us with picking out the perfect shades for our living room and bedroom. They even offered to help us take down our old and rusty screens. The living shades have the perfect visibility for our view to still come through, while making a huge difference in temperature from that afternoon Hawai'i heat. The bedroom shades are black out, just the way we like it and keep the room much cooler throughout the day. The remote-controlled shades have been a life changer and worth the upgrade, if you're still thinking about it -- don't hesitate and you won't regret it! read more

Shades West was efficient in scheduling an appointment and providing a quote after multiple inquiries from other competitors. Danny exceeded my expectations!!He provided the best value for motorized shades at my new condo. I communicated with him remotely, as I live in the SF Bay Area and he coordinated services with my property manager. He offered his expertise and provided recommendations for the windows at my condo. He has done multiple units in my building. His attentive service and craftsmanship is top notch. Call him for your window treatments. His service and quality of products will not disappoint!! read more

We recently had the pleasure of working with Shades West, and we can't recommend them enough -- especially Daniel, who exceeded every expectation from start to finish. Daniel was the only one who responded to our Yelp project inquiry (you know the kind -- where you post your needs and hope someone bites). Not only did he respond promptly, but he also scheduled a consultation quickly, came out personally to take measurements, and walked us through our options without any pressure or upselling. The best surprise? Our shades were installed in just 2 weeks, when we were originally told 4. That kind of speed is rare these days. And the pricing? Fair, straightforward, and honestly too good to pass up -- no games, just value. Installation day was smooth and stress-free. Daniel arrived on time, installed everything beautifully (the shades are gorgeous and perfectly aligned), and left our space clean and tidy. He's personable, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable -- the kind of person you're genuinely happy to do business with. We're so glad we chose Shades West. If you're looking for fast, friendly, and quality service with beautiful results, ask for Daniel -- you won't regret it. This company actually shows up, and that alone deserves 5 stars. read more

Danny and his team did an excellent job with the install of our awning! While we did have some post-install challenges with the rain/sun sensor and wind sensor, Danny was able to get replacements from the manufacturer and came back out to resolve them quickly! We had already fully paid at that point so it goes to show the professionalism and honesty of Shades West to make sure the job is done right! read more

Three years after working with Danny and his company, Shades West, I had a much larger job. I have a lot of windows (28) in my home and the shutters on the windows were past their useful life. I called Danny and got a very fair quote to replace all the shutters and install new shutters over my sliding doors. Over a period of 3 days, Danny and his crew, removed all of the old shutters and installed the new ones. Danny, showing his expertise, also recommended covering the gaps between the shutters and the windows, so that there was a clean and seamless look. Danny and his crew were professional, always on time, courteous, and cleaned up the job site. My wife and I are very happy with the new shutters and their work. We highly recommend Danny and his company, Shades West. read more

We consulted 5 different window treatment companies and went with Shades West (Danny) because we knew he would get the job done with the best price AND quality. Danny and his team did a 10/10 job when it came to professionalism, knowledge of product and quality of work. I was amazed how quick the process was especially in Hawaii and how wonderful everything looks installed. Do your due diligence in research but trust, you will be going with this company for the best experience possible! read more

We are part time residents in Waikiki; so scheduling an appointment and then showing up on time, on a Saturday as promised means a lot! Danny arrived on time, had copious amounts of samples and never made us feel rushed. He was very patient as we grokked all things blinds and answered our questions with professional insight and again patience. Danny provided a quote and stuck to that price, no nonsense upon delivery. The Alta motorized window shades he installed are amazing! The privacy blinds (solar screens) offer amazing see through views while the cutting down the heat coming into the unit. The black out shades are literally day and night, sleeping in is now guaranteed! Highly recommended! read more

I live in a condo in Kaka'ako (Ae'o), in a studio and had been wanting to convert my old drapes to roller shades for some time. I cold called several window shade installers on yelp. Danny (Shades West) was the first to respond and quickly provided answers to all of our initial questions and was available a day or two later for a visit at our place. He had installed in our building before, so he knew all the procedures, where to park, all the logistics, etc. which was really convenient for us. We had a tricky install. We have a tilt and swing door that needed to remain operational but at the same time we wanted both black out shades and transparent shades that fit, accommodated the operable window, and complied with our house rules for modification. Danny was able to think outside the box and come up with a solution that was easy for us to understand. During the install, they did a great job, it was quick, everything fit like a drum, they left the place cleaner than when they arrived, and the roller shades looked and operated great. Side note: I couldn't find a place to board my dog while Danny and his crew worked, but Danny was really good with my dog and made friends with her while they were working. It made the whole process really convenient. Definately recommend Shades West and Danny. read more

Danny was great and very professional. He knows what he's doing! He responded immediately to my call and we made an appointment. He recommended the blinds we needed for our kitchen, explained why it was good choice, provided an estimate right away, and it has turned out perfectly for us, as a cooling and sun blocking shade, while keeping our view. We are going to have him back to look at options for our living and dining room. We would use Shades West again and recommend them to others. read more

Shades West was one of the two highly rated shades companies I called to schedule an appointment. The earliest Shades West could meet was a few weeks but I set something up and am so glad I did as I ended up not liking the other company. Danny gave me a solid price on the spot that included everything - selection of fabric, color, covering style, and install. 50% deposit up front. I received text and email updates for the upcoming install date. The install took around 3 hours. The installer Alex was efficient and professional and did a great job. He cleaned up and took all the cardboard away as well. Very happy with everything! The manual shades work fantastically and are very easy to move up or down. read more

To help block out even more light in our bedroom we had Danny come back and install a blackout screen for our bedroom door - since it has frosted glass and lets in both daylight and indoor lighting - and it works like a charm. We recently moved to a new home and decided to install single roller shades on the living room windows and blackout roller shades, along with regular roller shades, on the bedroom windows. Danny came by to give us an on-site estimate, and he was very patient in answering all our questions. He gave us good advice on choosing the perfect roller shades for us. Whenever we had additional questions, he replied back to us right away. We appreciated that he kept us updated on scheduling and ETA. The installation was quick, and the roller shades look beautiful on our windows and we LOVE them! Danny and Donald cleaned the job site, leaving it spotless - very impressive. If you're looking for a professional and reliable window treatment company on Oahu that provides quality materials at a reasonable price, call Shades West! 5/5 Stars! Best selection and options for colors for my needs! Shades West's selection of roller shades was the best, along with awesome customer service. They use Norman roller shades/blinds, same as my name so I can't go wrong! I'd recommend scheduling an appointment with Shades West when the Sun is strongest, so you can see how the sample colors/shades look. Danny was really accommodating and will work with you, but might be tougher for afternoons appt, but can be worth the wait to schedule that time to get a better idea how much the sun blocks a 1%-3%-5% or full blackout. Keep in mind 1% can look like a diffused bright soft box (photography term) may not block the light as you'd expect so that's why it's good to figure this out. Once you pick your blinds, you'll get a quote and you can decide to move forward. When you say yes, you pay half as a deposit and pay the rest later. From ordering to installation it was super fast and did not take months, approximately 4 weeks! It may depend if it's a busy time of year. Initially I was a little concerned about the invoice as it wasn't too clear, but Shades West had done so many units in my building, I had to trust the process with a shake of a hand and know all would be good. And it was fine. If you feel you have questions, you can always ask, that's what I did to clear things up. Installation was fast, they got things installed done for a whole 2 bedroom condo in less than a whole day. There was an imperfection in one of the roller shades that Danny identified immediately during installation and ordered a replacement right away. He also bought his workers fancy sandwiches in Kakaako for their lunch break instead of the basic Subway down the street. So you can be sure someone who treats his staff well will definitely treat his customers well. read more

If you're looking for a shade company with great customer service, no BS, and solid products, Shades West is the one for you. Danny is on time, responsive, and keeps his word to meet your expectations. There were a couple of shades that were the wrong measurement or had a manufacturers defect, and Danny came back to reinstall them, no questions asked. The shade selections from Norman USA is a little more limited than other vendors, but the experience working with Danny totally makes up for it. read more

We are SO happy with our electric shades, I wish we installed them 5 years ago. Danny was responsive, professional, and had great customer service! He came out for a quote and provided us with a few options based on our price point. We have very high ceilings, but that was no problem for Danny and his team. They put up scaffolding to reach the window to install the shade and put down a protection layer under the scaffolding to protect our newly installed floors. Danny even cleaned our windows since we've never been able to reach them. They got the job done quickly and cleaned up any mess from the drilling. I highly recommend and would hire them again! read more

Initially did a quote with Costco but the price seemed high. Did a quote request on Yelp and most came out lower than the Costco vendor. Thanks for letting me know that you haven't changed your attitude toward your customers. Instead of asking what the problem is, you assume that I'm mistaken and that there's no way that it could've been you. When I texted asking why the appointment fell through, they made excuses saying that the specific vendor I requested didn't get back to them, but I had already agreed to see what they offered regardless. I tried to reschedule with them to get an estimate despite this, and when I asked for availability they told me they could see me after their first estimate appointment... so I don't see how the excuses for me not being scheduled were even valid at that point. Overall very disappointed. I ended up going with Home Depot instead. read more

I purchased my first home and needed window coverings. So glad I found Shades West! I requested a quote from various companies, and Danny from Shades West responded within hours and was able to come by within days for a free estimate. Shades West offered the best price, the exact option I was looking for and lifetime warranty. I ordered solar screen 5% flow roller shades (in polar white) for the living room and the den and blackout roller shades (in pure white) for the bedroom, all cordless. My custom Norman shades order arrived within 2.5 weeks and installation was scheduled days after. Danny and Sammy did a beautiful job installing my roller shades and cleaning up after themselves. Installation took about three hours. So very happy with the end product! Loving the chic look and how the roller shades keep my place so much cooler for me and my pup.
