I've always heard about Wong's Draperies so stopped by to talk to them. I needed floor to ceiling drapes for two windows and wanted a heavier fabric. They came out and measured. Mel Wong, the owner, came out and looked at the room and suggested a fabric which was cheaper than the one I was looking at. I went with his suggestion and was glad that I did. It took over a month for the drapes to be made. I also wanted sheers behind the drapes so needed two rods. I like to have sheer curtains to add some privacy during the day or to shade the room a bit during mid-day. After the installation, the drapes started to hang on the carpet. I contacted Mel and he explained that it could be due to the weight of the drapes and came out and personally adjusted them. I appreciated his quick response. I'm very happy with the drapes and think they make the room look so nice. I also love the pull handles that make it so easy to open and shut the drapes. I hope they continue to stay in business as it would be hard to find someone else to do such quality work!

The long wait times (to be expected) between order and installation left plenty of time for me (the house owner and the one who paid) to be informed that a different blind was selected. That was not communicated to me at any point. When the installation team came out is when I found out that it was not what I wanted. Where I have an issue is Kawika pointed the finger at the person present at the consultation for choosing the blinds. He has my number. He has my email. He did not at any point reach out and confirm with me, who set up the appointment and made the payments, the selected blinds is the one I wanted since it was different from what was selected during the consultation. To give credit to Budget Blinds, they have been professional the entire time with a fast install time. When I brought up the issue, Kawika did offer a steep discount. Its the principal of communication in this instance where I have the issue. This is a $5000 mistake that could have been easily rectified if the Budget Blinds team reached out to me to confirm what I actually wanted.

So with free estimation I decided to call and have one of their technician and designer stop by. Jae had many choices of shade but really help to nail down into one or two choices. This was very easy to choose from for someone like myself. I decided to go for the Sashiko weave fabric knowing that I love the Japanese culture and art. The Sashiko pattern was something I was introduced when I visited Kyoto, Japan. After about two weeks or so, the team Daniel and Jae came back to install the Sashiko shades. I say this is one of the most elegant shades I have ever had in my home. Its definitely a museum level quality and it made the overall ambience of my house into a royal palace.
