Poor customer service by receptionist. The little waiting area was already awkward enough

It's pretty relaxed but gets busy in here. They work fast but don't neglect what you're asking for, from what I was told by another patron. My daughter is happy with their work again, so we will be back again. No complaints.

While my pedicure was happening, my mom was getting own pedi a few seats down. I was visiting and we thought a daughter-mother nail day would be fun. Not at this place though we would soon learn. When the nail woman came over, I asked for a thin, gel-only acrylic set (no powder) which I do at my regular salon based on their suggestion to give my nails a break and bc they look more natural. That seemed to annoy the woman and she walked off after she started filing my nails, with no explanation and went to help someone else. After a 15-minute wait with no word from anyone, a second tech came over and made me re-explain everything from scratch, visibly irritated the whole time. Then she asked what shape and I said btwn coffin and square. Annoyed again she asked if I had a pic so I Googled nail shapes and showed her a pic of coffin and square and said btwn that please. She argued that my current nails were coffin. I said, OK, bc I was getting tired of explaining and feeling like I had to defend the shape I wanted. She seemed fine with that eventually & started my nails, but then said there was no one there who knew how to do gel with no powder & no one ever asks for that & it was a "special order." Then she walked off. A woman from the front came over to me and loudly, in front of other customers, said that no one could figure out what I wanted bc I wasn't happy with any nail shape. I was totally confused and embarrassed bc her voice was raised. By then my nails were filed with one acrylic tip glued on, but I was so uncomfortable with people staring at us over her raised voice, I said I would just go somewhere else. I'm visiting my mon again and we drove a little further to BB's Nails instead bc I will never go back to Lilah's. I can't say enough good things about BB Nails. They were gentle, patient, and kind, and they had no problem with a thin acrylic set and a coffin/square shape. And another woman in there mentioned her last place making her cry, and found out it was Lilah's! She said they were awful to her too. No idea why they are so unfriendly there, as if we all don't work hard for our $ & not only want to enjoy a nail day, but we also may have reasonable requests, and that should be OK. Lilah's was awful!

With the pedicure since I was going to have the gel polish removed I had asked if they can do a soak off inside of using the electric buffer to take off the gel polish. The reason I asked for a soak off is because in the past with using the electric buffer I noticed that it makes my nails extremely thin to where they break off extremely bad, some to the point where my nail is so thin from them buffing it that the nail ends up coming off , and as most know it's a pain and takes forever for the nail to grow back. I was seated and told the tech immediately that I wanted a soak off. As she was getting started I ended up having to tell her 3 different times that I wanted a soak off as she kept trying to use the buffer, once she finally got it that I wanted a soak off she started the process for it. She put the foil on literally for three minutes and took it off and was trying to start the process, which was crazy to me bc she did let it sit long enough for it to even start working to soak off. Then off of a sudden she tried to get the buffer again, but called a gentleman over to I guess discuss it. He told me that she "couldn't do it" and that someone else to do it. Well that turned into, "I don't have anyone available" it wasn't that no one was available (it wasn't a busy day) they just didn't want to spend the time it actually took too do the soak off properly and instead wanted to do it the quick way to get you in and out. So ended up walking out and going else where in which the other nail salon was able to do it exactly how I asked with no problem. It's sad and disappointing that Red Persimmon acted like this towards a service, not only did they loose money and a tip but a longtime customer all because they were lazy and didn't have time to when in reality it clearly shows they DIDN'T WANT TOO. The level of customer service and skills have gone down the drain here, especially because some good techs have left over. Please don't waste your time here and go elsewhere.
