I love this place! Although I have since moved from the area, I used to order carryout or delivery from Sidewok at least once every other week for the couple years I lived off Colfax. They are always friendly, very quick (carryout is ready in 10 minutes flat and delivery only takes about 30), and the food is amazing. I love their chicken fried rice and they have the most scrumptious volcano fried rice for those who love spicy!! read more

I ordered from Sidewok Cafe last Saturday for delivery. I ordered Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Sesame Chicken with side of Wonton Soup. After waiting over an hour, I called to ask about my delivery. The lady who answered said the delivery guy left a long time ago so he should be here very soon.... No apologies- nothing. So I wait another 15 minutes and then get a call from delivery guy asking if I live near 6th ave. frontage road.... I told him I live on 16th pl. He informed me that he read the address wrong... umm okay. Still waiting. He showed up with my food ten minutes later and to his credit, he did apologize. When I opened my food, of course- everything was luke warm - including the soup. The sesame chicken was soggy and HERE'S the WORST PART: The chicken lettuce wraps were comprised of chicken, canned carrots, canned peas and KETCHUP! OMG ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I bagged it all back up and opted to eat the only thing I had in my house-Top Ramen. I called to ask about a refund for the inedible food and all the lady would say is, "well thats how some people like them." She told me her boss would be in later and that I could speak with him. Upon speaking with him, he said he wouldn't refund the lettuce wraps just because I didn't like them, but that he would refund the Sesame chicken because it was cold. I told him that all the food was cold including the disgusting lettuce wraps, but he would only refund the sesame chicken. All told, after my refund, I was out $10 even though I returned ALL of the food and ate Ramen for lunch and the owner clearly didn't give a crap at all. read more

Their Spare Ribs are old... you can smell them soon as you open the container... had me gagging... everything else was ok

Not bad! I got sesame chicken, fried rice and egg rolls. The fried rice was really good, I just wish it had bigger chunks of chicken and/or eggs. Sesame chicken was good! A little dry, but it had a crispy texture on certain bites which I love. The egg rolls kind of threw me off. I'm used to fried, and they're wrapped in what's used for spring rolls. They tasted really sweet and almost like they had cinnamon inside of them, which personally, I didn't like. My husband and house mate did though! Also- the lady working there was SO NICE. I would go just to support her, cause she was great. read more

"Meh, I've experienced better!" That statement is very true! I was feeling pretty lazy for lunch today and thought, I have so much homework to do, I'll just order some Chinese and continue with assignments. When it arrived the dude was pretty nice, but reeked of cigarette smoke! It was bad, but it didn't bother me to the point I couldn't recommend this place. What did bother me to the point I can't recommend this place was the food! The food was horrible! I couldn't eat it! It smelt bad and it tasted bad. I ended up tossing it and I hate to be so cruel to the place, but I can't go back nor can I recommend it to anyone. I personally didn't like it. read more

I would not recommend them. Delivery time on a boring Thursday night at 6pm? 1hr 30min. Called after 1hr exactly and woman on the phone said they'd just left. I live 3.8mi or 9 min from the restaurant. It took them another 25min to get my food to me after I'd called. The food? Cashew chicken, potstickers, wontons, tiramisu. Mediocre. I've had better at Seschuan off 6th. I wanted to try something new, had to be at home & Seschuan doesn't deliver. Sorely disappointed. The least they could have done was call and let me know. read more

Sidewok Cafe - Tasteless Cashew chicken. - Chinese Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Had this for dinner last night and wasn't super impressed. I had the lettuce wraps. . Ingredients were a little different than what I am used to. Good portion, decent price. However, the peas and carrots did have that frozen bag taste. They did have a unique version of the lemon chicken. I didn't taste it but my friend said it was pretty good. Not sure if I will go back. read more

I recently just moved offices from Cherry Creek to 6th and Sante fe. I've been trying out delivery options in the area and this was my first time trying Sidewok. I asked for the food to come extra spicy and hot. This place delivered me the blandest meal I've ever tasted, and for them to even say it was remotely spicy is just plain blasphemous. I would never eat there again. **BEWARE OF FLAVORLESS FOOD*** read more

It's been 2hrs of placing an order online through the site designated by this restaurant. We have yet to receive our food after several calls stating length of time waiting & being told it will be to us very shortly. The restaurant informed us many orders were placed at once but 2hrs is ridiculous. read more

I dont know why anyone would give this place a negative review. Its amazing. They have free delivery when you call them directly, food is always ready within 20 minutes, and their vegetarian options are great. I always get their Volcano Fried Rice with Tofu. Yummmm. read more

I frequently go to this restaurant and for the most part they are decent. I usually buy the chicken wings but the last three times that I did so each time the wings looked different. For example, one of my orders looked like they cut up the wing in halves. Another example, I did not recognize the "wings" and finally chicken wings that were recognizable. I have pictures if anyone cares to see them. My advice, stay away from the chicken wings. read more

This place is amazing! Their Chinese food is authentic, but it still tastes good! They have a huge ton of variety, and vegetarian dishes busting out the seams! Not just rice and water chestnuts here! The outside may deceive you, it's location on Colfax can make it look lower end, but this is a cultural gem, and a place definitely worth taking your from-out-of-town friends! They do close too early, closing at 9:30, 10, or 10:30 depending on the night. Maybe if they would move their location further down Colfax toward town, they would attract more late night business. I don't normally like Chinese food, but I LOVE Sidewok Cafe! This place rocks! read more

My wife and I and went and picked up some things to go. When we got home and I tasted the Happy Family dinner I almost gagged. I tasted like bad fish with a pungent fishy smell. I took a couple of more bits and it got worse. I called the restaurant and the manger got on the phone with me and he basically called me a liar and told me that the food wasn't bad. He then told me that he wouldn't fix the order and he didn't care if it was bad. I told him that I would call the BBB and Health Department and complain and he said go ahead. This man knows nothing about customer service and accommodating the public. I will never go to this disease infested restaurant again. And I advise you to sip it too. I will follow through with what I told him. I also asked for the owners name and he refused to give it to me. What a jerk. read more

It seems that all the good Chinese places with fake meat options are on the fringes of town, but that's okay. Take Colfax West a little while and it doesn't feel like this place is THAT far out of the way. Their faux meat is pretty great. And you can pretty much customize what you have. Mock duck? Okay, weird, but tasty. Can I add cashews to that? Well, sure. And can I have a beer? Now you're talking. They do deliver, not that they're in my area, but maybe they're in yours. ;) read more

I agree with the first review about the Kung pao. It isn't very good. But I have ordered from this place 6 times and everytime I ordered from the Thai part it was delicious...I don't eat meat too much so usually substitute tofu for chicken. Try the, basil chicken, panang, seseme chicken, drunken noodles or satay. Anything exotic looking they do a fantastic job cooking and I was told they will have vegetarian chicken substitute starting in April.yay! read more

i'll start this review by saying (cue the violins): "i'm sorry, swing thai. you used to be my #1 delivery joint, but your portions got smaller and smaller and now you're just a ripoff. i had to leave you." enter sidewok cafe. i had seen their flyers in my mail since i moved to nw denver so i finally checked one out-when i saw they had a vegetarian "beef" moo shu, i decided to give it a whirl. and i am glad i did: huge portion, fast delivery, it came with a free eggroll, and it was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s. even the pancakes that came with it were awesome! i have a new love! read more

I had an awful experience with this restaurant and their customer service was outright rude to me when I brought it up to them. The chicken with veggies comes with basically no chicken. It's name should be "veggies and piece of chicken". See photo. Also the vegetable roll came with something really gross and I'm not sure what it is on it. Also see photos. Please avoid spending your money here as the quality of food and customer service are very very low. read more

NEVER AGAIN! We've committed before to not ordering here...call me a glutton for punishment with a secret love of vegan Chinese food. Tonight marks the parting of our ways! We ordered online for delivery and it took them over an hour (which is fairly normal). When I called because it had been 10 minutes after our order should have been to us we were told that not only had our order not even been made but that it would be an additional 40 minutes before our food could be expected. Completely unacceptable especially when the food doesn't warrant it! read more

This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had and I've had bad Chinese. First of all I'm not sure how you mess up sweet and sour pork! Well Sidewok has figured it out. I"m not even sure it was pork it was dry and heavily breaded. The veggies were raw and the sweet and sour sauce was pink water. I had an immediate stomachache. What a disappointment! Don't waste your money, it's disgusting! read more

I really wanted this place to be good because they deliver to my area, but it just wasn't. We've ordered from here a couple of times. The Chinese food was mediocre. My dad ordered the Volcano Fried Rice from the Thai portion of the menu. He said, "You have to try this! So you know never to order it." It really was awful. read more

Waste of money! I ordered the Sesame Chicken and there was about 3 pieces that actually contained chicken! The rest was just deep fried breading which was coated with a sugary sauce and sesame seeds. I had to look for the chicken and believe me there was less than an ounce! Deciding not to eat this, I moved onto the CRAB and cream cheese wontons. Okay, so the word CRAB should have some meaning since it is in the title but nooooo! Not so much as a shred! I threw out the soup and accompanying egg roll. Why bother trying anything more? The delivery driver was nice as was the person who answered the phone but not worth the $17.00 I just spent! Beware! read more

Food is very average. My children like the sesame chicken. I wish their cheese won tons came with sweet and sour sauce. Abysmally slow delivery. Delivery used to be okay. Between 30 and 45 minutes was average. However, the last three times my food has been over an hour with the last time taking almost 90 minutes. Three strikes, you're out. I'll find another average Chinese food delivery place. read more

I've ordered from SideWok probably 5+ times before. I've never wrote a review and during tonights dinner I decided to! Sidewok never seems to disappoint and always provides exceptional service and food! Orders always arrive 30 minutes earlier than said delivery time and food is always hot when it arrives! I'm glad I've found a regular Chinese place! read more

We started with the Pu Pu Platter. I ordered the Garlic Pepper Shrimp, one of the house specialties, and my husband ordered the Crispy Duck. Neither of us enjoyed our meals. And, without being too graphic, I'll just say that both of us spent the 12 hours after the meal enduring our bodies' attempts to reject the food. Not recommended! read more

Were excited to order delivery instead of cooking for a change. We had recived a flyer/menu in the mail so we were really looking forward to ordering some good food! The delivery took well over 1 1/2 hours to get us our food!! We are just up the street from the place. Then, our order was missing things!!! We called back to get the rest of our order and they said they would be right back with it. After a good half an hour we called again to see what was going on. By this time we had already eaten what we did get.We seriously waited TWO HOURS. Needless to say, we demanded our money back for the missing items which they did refund us for but they never delivered what our order as missing!!! The food was bland and luke warm. I wont be ordering here again. read more

A friend of my wife and I recommend this place because they have a great deal of vegan options. They have a large menu with tons of variety. I eat meat and my wife is Vegan so this place is perfect for satisfying both diets! read more

This place is the total cookie cutter chinese delivery joint. the shrimp lo mein is O.K. what else can i say...

Petty good. I'll admit my surprise since there were no cars in the lot and looked kinda grungy. Carry out came quickly and the veggies were nice and crispy fresh ( vegan so don't know about meat). Overall not bad at all read more

My boyfriend and I have ordered through sidewok cafe few times and the place gets so busy with delivery orders. The lady carries 3-4 phones on her hands and her husband is always out making deliveries. We usually go to the restaurant and make a to go order because we live close by. I usually get their fried rice and honestly their fried rice isn't that bad. I like that they add mung beans on their fried rice. Although I wish they could add more vegetables. read more

We got a flyer in our door so we decided to check it out. I wasn't impressed. After waiting an hour and a half for delivery, the food was below even cheap Chinese standard-- bland, greasy and overcooked (except for the tofu, which was almost raw). The one highlight was the fake chicken, but there was barely any of it in the dish we ordered, and it was joined by a couple of chunks of pork. As a vegan, I was grossed out. read more

"Woohoo! As good as it gets!" is right! I have a friend that is a vegetarian and he loves this place, so I went with him to see if it was as good for someone that loves meat too. And I was not disappointed! I'm a big fan of Chinese food and this place hits the spot. I also really like the wait staff, very family friendly. Forget about lame big corporate chain places where no one cares about their job (except maybe the manager) and come HERE. Food is their passion, the food is authentic, and the people are real. read more

Do not eat here! We ordered Pad Thai and Steamed Veggies w/chicken. When they arrived the chicken in the Steamed veggie dish was slimey and seemingly under-cooked. The chicken in the Pad Thai was basically the same. when we called to tell them they simply said the chicken was cooked and it was the same chicken in the Pad Thai. They said "if you can eat the Pad Thai, you can eat the other dish." they literally said that! When I told them I wanted a refund and that I would even drive back to show them the dish (so they didn't think I was trying to get a free meal), they said 'No', they would not give me a refund. US Thai Cafe is just a few blocks away and has vastly superior food. Do yourself a favor and go there instead (or anywhere else). Sidewok is awful! read more

I have ordered from this place countless times and it has been pretty consistently tasty for cheap Chinese food. I think 3 stars is pretty far since there is better our there but Denver seems to be lacking a great cheap Asian food scene so I would say with that considered, it may even warrant 4 stars in the area. They are speedy with the delivery, have a ton of great vegetarian options and are pretty consistent. My husband is a fan of the sesame chicken and I usually stick to the Kung Pao shrimp which I definitely recommend! The fried rice is yummy and the chicken lo mein is pretty generic but flavorful. It seems to be the best Chinese delivery in the area. With that said, let me know if you have a better recommendation! read more

The sesame chicken was good. The fried rice was bland and the egg roll as well. We ate in and the salt, pepper and soy sauce bottles were sticky and grimey. read more

So, against my own common sense I ordered again from these jokers.......well...because. I now must claim this is the worst restaurant I have ever, ever experienced....ever. No more to be said but I told you so. read more

I don't usually review places, but for as highly reviewed as Sidewok was I wasn't overly impressed. I did appreciate the portion sizes, for the price they did provide a lot of food. But over all the food itself had very little flavor and I feel like for drunken noodles and Thai fried rice that shouldn't be the case. In addition to the lack of flavor, the drunken noodles looked and tasted as though they had been left out for an hour under a heat lamp. They were dried out so much. My last complaint was the time it took. It was a Tuesday night at 5pm when I ordered. I realize it was dinner time but there is no way that it should take an hour and forty mins to get fried rice to and drunken noodles cooked up. I will try it again but just wanted to give my feedback for those who are craving solid food. read more

Ordered food here for Monday Night Football this week because who wants to cook when there is football to watch? UG, I called to place the order and was put on hold for almost 5 min. She came back (spoke really poor broken English) and asked me my address for delivery. Oh, and then I was put on hold again for ~3 min. She took my order, which literally due to the language barrier, took about 5 more minutes of repeating, clarifying and the like. It took over an hour for the delivery and I live 3 miles from this joint. I got shrimp green curry, mongolian beef and steamed veggie dumplings. Food was about a 3.5...pretty good. Service...not so good. Delivery guy was friendly at least. read more
