    Half salad

We really wanted to like this place based on the reviews but alas, I feel honestly is the best policy. Let's start with what went well. The inside is clean, nicely laid out, good decor and no problem with sound (ie, it wasn't very loud even when it was pretty full.) The service was terrific; our waitress was super kind, helpful, kept our drinks full and checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything. 5 stars for service and facilities. Where the experience fell short was in the food. Overall, most everything we ordered was "meh" at best. I'll be more specific. Pizza- yes it was one topping, but even it didn't taste good. The crust was flabby, pasty; not at all crisp. The sauce was flavorless and the overall experience was less than that of a frozen pizza. Chicken fried chicken- this was actually pretty good. I did enjoy this. I chose the sides of fried okra which were very good, coleslaw which I enjoyed , and Mac n cheese. I'll talk more about that in a min. Served with actually cold ( not even room temperature) cornbread which probably would have been good if was anything but straight from the refrigerator and microwaved to warm the outer edge leaving a chilled center. Three of us ordered the Mac N Cheese. I don't know how to mess it up like this, but the cheese sauce was runny, and flavorless. No one liked it and we do not recommend it. The fries with the kids menu were good. The pulled pork was full of gristle and dry, we didn't eat most of it. The green beans tasted straight from a can without any other seasonings. We couldn't eat them. The salad was nice, decent size and fresh so that was a positive. Everything about this restaurant is full of potential and with a little care in the kitchen it wouldn't take much to make this a top spot to eat; but as it is, the food is 2 stars at best. We'll settle on 3 stars overall given how good the service was.

It's a hit or miss on the food and service for us. Still nice to have this option in our town. Probably wouldn't return though.

Food is good but service is hit or miss. And if you go there for brunch they don't serve liquor until noon.

Filled with crawfish along with large shrimp and rice...this meal is the epitome of Cajun cuisine. Christy took excellent care of me and while this is an hour away, I will be back!

We were seated within 10 minutes. The trouble started from there. We waited for 10 minutes to order our drinks, then waited for 15 minutes to receive our water. Knowing beforehand that this place takes a little longer, we went ahead and put our food order in. We then waited for 1 1/2 hours with no food. Not only that, we were checked on *once* in that time period. We finally left, after no word on our food. I understand it's all part of the experience and that there is usually a wait, but the lack of communication and the service level were horrible. 4 hours after we left our house, we ate fast food burgers on our way home.

Staff is great and helpful. I had a beer but the star of this dinner is definitely the food! I went with the Half & Half combo (since I had so much trouble deciding..) Shrimp Po Boy and the Étouffée. Po Boy was outstanding. Lots of shrimp, cooked perfectly with a green crunchy breading. I went with Remoulade and it was good compliment to the Shrimp and accoutrements. The bun was what you would hope for, crunchy exterior, nice soft interior. It was also very large, not sure if I could have handled a full size Po Boy! Étouffée was also great, full of good flavors and I had to bring most of this home. It was great the next day as the flavors really settled into the rice. I sampled some of the other dishes that friends had and found them all to be really well flavored. Not overly spicy but nicely seasoned to give a great experience. So I was too full to finish the Étouffée, but I managed to find room to sample the Bread Pudding. I'm not normally a bread pudding fan, but this has me rethinking that decision entirely. So so Good! Overall great experience, great food and plenty of reasons to return to try more of the offerings!

Our server was super kind, he had just moved from Florida so it was nice to know we are from the same place! For appetizers, I tried the fried pickles (not pictured) they were way too salty. We also had the creole seafood dip which was amazing! I went with the steamed shrimp, with Cajun sauce. It also came with potatoes, corn, and I added sausage for $4. The way it came out was different than other seafood boils I've had. The boil came out plain with the sauce on the side. I thought this was going to affect the flavor but it did not and it was so good! Overall we had a great time, they were very accommodating. I would return.

I asked if they normally don't clean the shrimp and they let me know that was normal practice, well not for me. The didn't charge us so that helped with their two stars. I had over here and sat at the bar, and the bartender was incredibly kind and generous, letting me sample the two dishes I was deciding between. I tried Nanny's Seafood Gumbo, which had a very bold, distinct seafood-forward flavor that might be perfect for some, but for me it was a bit overpowering. The étouffée, on the other hand, was more balanced and lighter, with flavors that just hit in the best way...so it really comes down to personal preference. It was a cold December day, and I was craving something warm and spicy, and this absolutely delivered. I ordered the étouffée with shrimp (though they weren't blackened as described), and it was still deeply comforting and delicious. I paired it with a Harding House Jimmy Red Lager, and loved the thoughtful touch of little baskets of popcorn at the bar.
