Food is good but service is hit or miss. And if you go there for brunch they don't serve liquor until noon.

Full disclosure, I own another restaurant here in the same small town but was closed due to a personal leave. Two nights ago, I ordered a steak from Sideline's. It was absolutely delicious. People at work have talked about this place for a while so I finally decided to try it. Twice now I've had the ribeye with sweet potato and veggies. I've also had grilled chicken. Both are great! My kids love their very large cheese sticks. Seriously, it looked like a small log of cheese! Yum! The dining room is spacious and you're not seated right on top of each other. We visited on a Tuesday night. It was Taco/Trivia night. We were seated right away and our waiter was attentive. We ordered pork nachos for an appetizer and had the taco special for an entree. Awful.. everything was over cooked, dry, or way too salty. The staff was horrible. My husband and I were 1 of 3 tables that were taken when we went. Our waitress thought it was more important to sit at the table and chat away with a family member (guessing it was her mom) than to refill our drinks which were empty longer than they were full. The 4-star reviews must have been the owner's friends because from a food blogger perspective, my experience here was just meh. Service was fine but food lacked seasoning. Onion rings and fries from frozen. Burger seemed small for a half pound. The patty melt was made with marble bread (what??) with processed cheese thrown on it. Now who does that? The place lacked the warmth of-- what? A sports bar? A local restaurant? This place wants to be both and the result is no clear identity. read more

This place is a godsend for Pleasant View and like all the other non chain places that open up here, they are well above par and much better than you would expect. I honestly expected them to serve mediocre bar food and premade frozen stuff for their dinners but was pleasantly surprised with not only their selection, but quality of food. Staff is very nice and friendly and speed of service is great. Lastly, drink prices are amazingly cheap (where else can you get a large pour [neat] of a decent scotch for under 8 bucks) and live music on the weekend is usually pretty good. read more

I was really hoping that we would finally get a decent restaurant in Pleasant View. No such luck. Sidelines Grill is pretty much a nondescript sports bar, with TVs on the walls and very little else for even an attempt at decor. I didn't go into the bar, so perhaps it's a bit better (?). On to the food and service, which is why we go to restaurants in the first place, right? Sadly, the decor was the best part of the experience. Service was painfully slow, as if the wait staff had never had even as much as an hour of training. When the food finally arrived it was even more disappointing than the slow service. I tried a cheeseburger, and when it arrived it looked like it was made from what looked like a frozen patty thrown on the grill. It was enough to make we wish we'd gone to Wendy's instead. And the fries were cold by the time they arrived. Yuck. Couldn't eat it. My wife was unfortunate enough to order the catfish. I didn't want to risk tasting it, so I'll have to take her word for it: "Bad". Her vocabulary is much more polite than mine, and "G" rated. I could have found a more colorful descriptive word to use, but since this is a family web site I'll hold my tongue. Sometimes you have to give a restaurant, especially one that just opened up, the benefit of the doubt. This place has the opportunity to be a great place. Perfect location and in a town that desperately needs a good place to eat that isn't fast food. However, after giving it several tries, I will not be going back. The food is either bland or over cooked. The menu offers a great selection but the actual food is not good. Went with my wife and daughter. I got a burger, wife got a patty melt and daughter got a french dip. Burger tasted and looked like a frozen patty and was so, so. Daughter said her's was ok and my wife got so sick we thought we was going to have to take her to the hospital. The food was good, but the service was poor. Our waiter wrote nothing down and then had to come back and ask both my wife and I what one of our sides was because he couldn't remember. Our food later came out without our 2 year olds meal. We found out from another staff member that our waiter forgot to put that part of the order in. Sat night is Rib-eye Steak Night and worth the $15 price. Done on a grill, it had good flavor, correct doneness although a little thin. The sides were good, sweet potato ,green beans with bacon, fried squash, and house salad. Service was good too. It's okay, not the best quality of food I've had. I'd say it's two steps under Applebee's, quality wise. The service was friendly though.

In contrast to other posted reviews/ratings, my wife and I were delighted with our meals here today. A friend recommended it, and so we stopped for lunch after church. My steak and cheese wrap was very flavorful, and the salmon on my wife's salad was cooked to perfection. There were healthy options as well as more indulgent ones on the menu. We will be back. My friend likes the pizzas there, and I look forward to trying one. read more

Been here twice before. Not impressed either time but I decided to give it another try. Never waited so long for so little. Took an hour to get our food. Thought our waitress had left the building we went so long without seeing her. A refresher on the beer would've helped the wait. Best catfish and chips I've had in Pleasant View tn!!! The golden crispy cornmeal was a great addition to the clean moist taste of catfish. The golden crisp crinkle cut fries set it off. With a fresh tarter on the side and a mix of hot spice (my personal choice with any dish) made it a perfect choice for lunch. Yum! read more

Went here to meet up with a friend I had not seen in 25 years and it was a halfway point on I-24. To be honest I was not expecting much, just wanted a drink and a little food. I was pleasantly surprised ! We ate on the bar side and the staff was very nice and helpful. We decided to split a pizza and I must admit that it was the best pizza I've had in many years. I work here in Pleasant View and order lunch/dinner a few times a week. I can say the quality of the food is pretty poor for the price. Ive tried quite a few different things and they all taste like someone who doesn't know what spices are and are learning to cook. I don't have much of different choices of food. So I have been trying to find something good at this restaurant. I'm going to start out by saying what is good there. The shrimp is pretty good. Loaded baked potatoes, fried okra, cobb salad, the chicken sandwich buffalo style, and the chicken tenders basket buffalo style. Now for all the food I've tried that is not very good. The chicken alfredo... i have nothing to say other than no... don't do it! The chicken was still a little pink on most of the bigger chunks. Same with the other person who ordered it to with me. Also cajun pasta.. its good if your sick cause it will open up your nose. Btw it was so spicy and disgusting. Philly cheese steak... it was like cheap meat on a hoagie bun with few peppers. I ate the one side with maybe 3 onions and 2 bell peppers. Thought maybe there will be more on the other side... nope one onion.. and that was the first meal i ordered there. Then i tries the regular chicken tenders basket with fries. Fries were more flimsy and soggy thab crunchy. The chicken wasn't very good either. I could make it at home with better flavor. I also got a turkey and bacon wrap. Again ate one side and it had a ton of meat and lettuce and tomatoes. But no bacon... i get to the other side. A little bit of meat and all lettuce. No tomato. I just threw it away. It wasn't even proportionate. Same with the philly cheese steak but that was just sad. I also tired the nachos. Lots of chips covered with cheese which was tasty. But the whole thing was covered in huge chuncks of lettuce and huge chunks of tomatoes. Very few onions and peppers again... not cooked long enough either mostly raw. The patty melt was good the first time but not the second. Lastly... i ordered chicken alfredo pasta again but with no chicken this time since it wasnt cooked throughly the first time. Went... picked up my order.. got back to work... opened it hungry and ready to eat. It was cajun pasta without chicken. Usually i wouldnt be so upset when food that i ordered isnt correct when ita the same price mostly.. but this stuff i cant eat. Its to spicy and bad. So i took it back and just wanted a refund and to get food somewhere else. The girl took my food to the back... and came back to me and said they werent allowed refunds and just to wait a few minutes for it to bw corrected since it was just pasta without chicken.... I've never been able to not get a refund. I mean i even brought the food back. After all of this and trying a ton of different stufd they aren't worth it for all the terrible food. This is a awesome place for the most part and much needed in the area but the last visit I had the other day wasn't good !! Portion sizes went way down since opening and no where comparable to the Ashland city location and the other portion sizes on some other meals were less too!! I've been at least a dozen times since opening and it was great and the to go box would be hard to close on to go order but last trip was not :( hope they fix this issue soon cause it's very convenient for people in area !!! read more

We have been here 3 times now (all for dinner) and every single meal was great. The steaks and medallions were cooked to perfection. Salads are fresh, plentiful and not just lettuce in a bowl! Service was great, food came out pretty quickly. As others have said, not much décor, lots of TV's, it is a sports bar after all! The food is bland and overpriced. We ordered the triple play sampler to start with the cheessticks, chicken tenders, and mushrooms. The mushrooms are hardly breaded. The breading falls off if you dip it in the dip they bring you. The chicken was overcooked and visibly burned. My daughter got the kid's spaghetti. We had to send it back and ask them to drain it off. It was swimming in a pool of pasta water which watered down the sauce so much it wasn't edible. They did not offer to remake it or get her something else and didn't even add any sauce to it. They simply took it back to the back and poured the water off of it along with any sauce it had had on it. For $4.95 for a kid's meal I guess I expected a little more quality as there are no kid's menus or crayons. Also...they never brought her her popsicle. My husband ordered the beef Philly cheese steak. This is sadly nothing more then thinly sliced prepackaged roast beef heated up with very few green peppers and onions melted cheese on a hoagie roll. This is in no way a Philly cheese steak and for $8.95 you are better off walking down to subway and get a foot long steak and cheese. I got the big burger. Not exactly big and is clearly a frozen burger thrown on a grill. It was dry and unseasoned and not worth $8.95. This was our second visit...the first time we got the bbq and was disappointed that there was almost 50% of fat thoughout the meat. The service is also not great. We saw 4 waitresses and it was not very busy but more often then not they were off chatting amongst themselves and we had to flag one down when we needed something. Sidenote: they brought our food out looking around unsure where it went and had to ask what we ordered. This is a new restaurant and we expected much better. I guess it's trying more to be a bar that happens to sell food then a restaurant with a bar. read more

I went on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed watching Football. Sidelines was exactly what I expected after reading the reviews. The service was outstanding. We had BBQ pork Nachos and would recommend them as a pretty good game day snack. This place deserves to be better than 3 stars. Probably not a 5 but I will come back for watching sports any day. 7 TVs in the bar area and a good set up to watch 3-4 games at a time. Glad they have the Sunday Ticket. read more

Don't waste your money eating here! The food was nothing special as in everything tasted as if it was out of a freezer, and the only hot items we got came out of a fryer my husbands burger was cold. My son got his food a good 15 to 20 minutes before the rest of my family got ours and he was finished eating before the rest of our plates even made it out of the kitchen. And there was no reasonable explanation for it as the place was pretty empty on the dinning room side. Our server never refilled drinks. My daughter and husbands plates came out a good 5 minutes before my plate finally hit the table. I was so frustrated by this point I barely ate my food and just got a box. The check was enought for my husband and I to decide we will likely NEVER eat here again since everything we did eat was clearly something we could have bought and made ourselves. One of the managers came up and talked to my son about if he was in school today and could clearly see I had just gotten my plate of food mean while my family was pretty much finished eating.
