Wanted some good Chinese food. I remembered this place although it had been a few years since we had been here. We came in on a Friday night and it was quite busy but nice vibe. We were greeted and seated right away. I was hoping to get a cocktail but they only serve beer and wine definitely not a deal breaker. The pickled vegetables they bring to the table are delicious. We ordered the garlic chicken, beef stir fry and walnut prawns all were amazing. The beef stir fry is very spicy but so good. We are definitely going to make this our go to place now. Customer service was great they checked in on us frequently and made sure we enjoyed everything. We are definitely coming back and I can't wait to try more items.

We had lunch on the last Sunday of 2025. Ten of us sat down to a large round table and ordered the equivalent of one dish for everyone. Lunch was family style and we all got a little bit of everything. We had hot and sour soup, Mongolian lamb, eggplant, chow mein, braised duck, steamed and fried rice, and more. Only managed to get a few photos. Looking forward to going again but with a smaller group of people who won't mind me taking photos of everything. Service was excellent and attentive.

Wow, wow, wow. What an absolute delight. I haven't had a meal at this restaurant in what seems like forever, but with new ownership, Sichuan Style Restaurant on Solano Ave. is most def making a splash and name for themselves. The restaurant itself is incredibly spacious, and on a Sunday, was also very lively which is always nice to see ~ people out and enjoying themselves & their time off with family and friends over a meal. Food-wise, we ordered potstickers to start, vegetable fried rice, and sizzling black pepper beef. We also ordered a few beers, and to note, wine is also served. Everything was so delicious and even though the restaurant was crowded, that didn't interrupt with service. The potstickers were juicy and crisp, the fried rice was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and I'm still thinking about the black pepper beef. The presentation of the rice and main dish were notable (see pics) and the beef came out truly sizzling with onions, a nice char, and a sauce that was truly memorable. No wonder this spot received a mention in the Michelin Guide. There's plenty of metered parking on Solano, although may have to do a few laps pending the time of day you come. Sichuan Style also has a lunch menu, a sign outside promoting happy hour, and daily specials. The menu is so expansive, there's truly something for everyone. Would love to come back and try a few items from the dim sum menu.

Chili oil chicken, sautéed veggies, and stir-fried beef. Complimentary pickled cabbage included as well.

My friend is a regular at this place and she took me here for dinner. I let her take the reins and she ordered three classic dishes that were extremely delicious with rice. We got chili oil chicken ("Sichuan mouth-watering chicken"), stir-fried beef, and sauteed water spinach (ong choy). I literally could not stop eating. Everything was so good, especially with rice. Nothing was overwhelmingly spicy or pungent, and the flavors of each dish complemented each other perfectly. Service was excellent. Our water and tea were always filled and the owner came by to say hello. I would definitely come here again for more tasty Sichuan food.

I attended a large party here of ~50 people and 5 tables. Restaurant is pretty big and they reserved the entire back half of the restaurant for us. Service was really quick and they refilled our water and tea often. Highlights of our meal include: string beans and fried tofu. Parking on a Sunday afternoon is free and we found parking right outside on Solano Ave for lunch.

Immediate service. So nice and friendly. The building is older but fun. The food is simply amazing. For starters they brought hot tea and pickled vegetables to the table. The pickle was delicious and unlike others I have had before. Then they brought the dumplings in chili sauce which was listed as dim sum but the portion was large and also included cabbage. They were great. Next came my ma po tofu which may have been the best I have ever had. The valence of male and other spices was perfect. The portion was so generous (9 inch pie pan filled to the brim). Next was the chopped chicken with mixed chilies which we could not stop eating. Then came the tan tan noodles and noodles with spattered oil. Both were delicious. The valence of spice and male perfect and all the flavors well developed. I can't understand why this place is not rated as a perfect 5 stars. The food was great and the staff attentive. We were there on Saturday night and no problem getting seated. Please eat here it is a gem.

If you're looking for great Sichuan food, this is a must-visit. With dishes that are packed with flavor and that classic Sichuan numbing spice, this is the perfect place to visit for a meal that will leave you burning on the inside. All of the classic Sichuan dishes are excellent, from the pork belly in chili oil to the Sichuan boiled fish, you'll leave extremely satisfied. On top of great flavor, the portion sizes are very generous - you could honestly get two meals out of a lot of the dishes. With a clean and spacious environment, this is a fantastic place to go if you're looking for a nice night out to enjoy wonderful 'Sichuan-Style' Chinese cuisine.

I'm always on the hunt for authentic Sichuanese food, so Sichuan Style was the next on my list in the Berkeley area. My bf and I came on a weekday for an early dinner and there was no wait. The server was nice and accommodating. I absolutely love spicy food, and this place did not disappoint. Usually, I order the spicy fish filet as a baseline dish to try, and then add some other meat dishes that I'm craving. + Spicy Szechuan Water Boiled Fish: delicious - piping hot with tons of garlic/chilies/green onions on top. I'm salivating just thinking about it, to be honest. Great portion size, and quite authentic in terms of spice levels/numbing/etc. $17.95 + Hunan Stir-Fried Beef: Beef was a tad chewy in some pieces, but for the most part it was delicious and tenderized. Super spicy as well with the green chilies and also came piping hot. $18.95 +Twice cooked bacon cut pork: Classic dish, also very authentic with the sliced green onions, bean curd, and fatty pork. Delicious. $14.95 Rice per bowl $2: We ordered two bowls but as you can see in the photos she just consolidated it and gave us a whole rice bowl. You need tons of rice for these dishes, I definitely ate way too much. I haven't been this impressed by a new restaurant in a while, so I was very excited to get three authentically spicy Sichuan dishes. I had a great meal, and I will definitely be back. I will say that the food is probably much better dine-in because of the nature of the dishes. However, I had leftovers the next day for lunch, and it was still delicious. The prices are also really reasonable for the area as well.

Is there any discount for take out order during shelter-in-place?

I don't believe they have discounts during this time (it's still the same food and same to-go service). If anything, we should be encouraging each other to tip extra, if we have the means to do so.

By any chance, does anyone have an idea how much the Banquet Menus are? And did you like it? Thanks.

I love the food but don't know about banquets. Stop in and talk to them. They're very helpful.

We found new items to add to our regular order and we love how this place has turned out. We see way more diverse families dining here and I see they expanded the menu to accommodate new customers that want to try something but be overwhelmed. I also noticed the usual groups coming in so it's a great balance between staying true to the authentic flavors while still being open to different taste palates. I also noticed they're attentive in how they seat their customers. Food overall has been great with the veggies in general. We always default to the boiled beef and end up using it to dip everything else into. We really like the tofu options and the dish with small lotus that are a little sour. Each dish comes out hot and they're generous in the bowl of rice they give you. I still plan on coming here regularly and my family still enjoys all the leftovers I bring home each time.

A great way to kick off a meal here. - 重庆辣子鸡 - Chongqing-style spicy fried chicken; it came bone in, which is very important to keeping the chicken juicy and flavorful and the chicken are drowning in tons of dried red chilis. The place feels a little different now, and I also don't see the older lady and gentleman who I used to see here anymore. I love the new wall decorations. The interior looks like an older style resturant with the menu being on the top right when you walk into the resturant. There is also a pile of random stuff in the left corner when you walk in. Customer Service - 4/5 The service was good and everything came out smoothly. Nothing particularly stood out to me about the service this time, but I had a pleasant experience overall. Small note I didn't feel very welcomed when I walked into the restaurant. Food - 5/5 Dish Ordered: Jjamppong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) - 5/5 What impressed me about the jjamppong was that every ingredient was treated right. Eating the squid by itself would've been delicious. Eating the shrimp by itself would've been delicious. But now you fuse everything together with the noodles and soup? Now that's one solid dish. The heat level was just right for me. I love spicy food, but I don't want the spice to overpower everything else. My tongue was still able to taste the seafood flavors coming through the soup, and that's important to me. The spice complemented the seafood instead of covering it up. Every ingredient felt like it contributed something to the final dish. I never had this dish in Korea. but if I had this guess. This would be it. Tangsuyuk (Sweet & Sour Fried Pork) - 5/5 They take this dish to another level. The pork was tender and fluffy with a slight crisp on the outside. That combination alone would've made it good, but the sauce is what really brought everything together. And when I say sauce, they don't just give you a little bit on the side. They give you a whole bowl of it. You can actually submerge your pork into the sauce and get an even coating of all that goodness. I've had many different sweet and sour pork sauces over the years, and this one hits differently. Honestly, this sauce could be its own dish. It's not a side piece. That's how much I enjoyed it. Pickled Radish - They also give you pickled radish, which I always love whenever I'm eating Korean food. That crunch adds another texture to the meal, but more importantly, it gives your palate a nice refresh between bites. Especially when you're eating something spicy like jjamppong and something rich like tangsuyuk, that refreshing bite of pickled radish fits perfectly. Additional Comment: I've been coming here many times over the years, and the quality has always been solid. Restaurants change. People change. Interiors get remodeled. I don't see the older lady and gentleman I remember seeing here anymore, but I'm glad the food has remained something I can come back to and enjoy. There's something special about having a restaurant you've eaten at for years and still being able to sit down, order your food, and think, "Yup, they still got it." Would I come back? Hells Yeah. I've already been coming back for years. The jjamppong delivers the seafood flavor and heat I'm looking for, and that tangsuyuk with the sauce is something I would be happy to come back just for these two dishes. I also love their black bean noodle (ZaZangMein)

However we used the kiosk and an error happened. The lady came to assist us, and she was really rude. The payment went through on our end. We showed the lady, and she deliberately dismissed us. Ask us to pay again, when we were showing her that the payment was already taken. She kept stating that it was declined, when clearly the funds have left the account. I work at a credit union, I know how it works. She ended up telling them to make it still, when we were trying to resolve the issue. She brought another person up, he explained to us that it was going to decline. The transaction stated that it was pending, it did not decline. It was authorized and approve. I'm not sure if they know how it works, but financial institutions approve the transaction. It goes in a pending status, and the merchant is the one that does the final authorization. We don't live around the area, the resolution was to call back if we were double charged. We are not going to sit around and chase $30. It is such a shame, because they have a nice establishment, but customer service is not up to par. We ended up leaving because if you're not able to comprehend the issue of your system how can we trust you to do another transaction when. Mind you I have been a yelp elite for 8 years. I don't normally give 1 star ratings and for this to warrant that the customer service spoke for the restaurant itself.
