The cupcakes here are BOMB. Not only are they delectable but they're also so cute and aesthetically pleasing. The last time I was here I had the "butter cup," a classic vanilla cupcake with buttercream frosting--but it was THE BEST vanilla cupcake I've ever had. "Grandma's chocolate tea cake" was decadently rich and chocolaty, and the Hostess chocolate cupcake look was wonderfully nostalgic for this 90s kid. I've also had lemon drop which was light and refreshingly citrus. My volunteer organization provided Sibby's cupcakes for a private event and every single cupcake I had was so good, I don't care to say how many I ate . The neat thing about Sibby's is they also have gluten-free options and are completely peanut-free and tree nut-free. The location is in an odd place adjacent to downtown San Mateo with plenty of paid parking nearby along the train tracks, and a few limited parking spots right by the bakery. It's a takeaway only place with only a counter right by the door. The prices of the cupcakes are reasonable for the quality you're getting. This is worlds beyond the junk full of vegetable shortening "icing" that you would pick up at a local grocery store. read more

Found this cupcake shop randomly on a drive and loved the cupcakes. It's hidden in an industrial area but don't let that fool you. They have great cupcakes. I recommend giving it a try. I bought a box of three cupcakes to share with family and everyone loved them. It seems like most people order the cupcakes ahead of time and simply pick up their orders. At first I didn't realize it was a storefront because I think they do the bulk of their business as pre-orders for events. But alas they do have a storefront that you can walk in. It's not a typical cupcakery storefront like Kara's or Sprinkles which is bright and cutesy located in a shopping area but more like a display case in front of their kitchen and office across the railroad tracks in an industrial area. Kind of looks like a hidden place you need a password for. They have 3 sizes of cupcakes which is nice to choose from: Large which I believe is the equivalent of 3 cupcakes, regular, and mini. A list sits outside where it shows the cupcakes offered for the day. You don't get as many options if you walk in, especially at the end of the day. It's not a usual place for a bakery, but their cupcakes are amazing. I needed to pick up a small dessert for my daughter's birthday and I saw this was in the area after our afternoon at Gama Ride. I'm so glad we decided to try this place out. They didn't have many flavors left since it was near closing time, but I managed to pick up the carrot, a couple of holiday confetti and regular confetti, and a couple of the dulce de leche ones too. I tried the carrot one first and it was amazing. The best carrot cake/cupcake I've ever had. My daughter and son enjoyed the confetti ones and dulce de leche were good too. You really can't go wrong with any of their cupcake flavors (seasonal flavors rotate monthly) and they have a big variety so everyone's happy! Finally found a fantastic place for all my custom cupcake needs! I was in a pickle because I hadn't been able to find a reliable custom cupcaker in the RWC area. I was referred to Sibby's by a coworker and was immediately impressed with their website. I found exactly what I was looking for under their custom design page (train themed cupcakes), and was thrilled to see they offered 3 different sizes and customization of flavors by the half dozen. I called my order in because I had some questions about delivery versus pickup given my event was on a day they were closed. The staff was friendly and accommodating, helping me get my order in and recommending flavors based on popularity. I ended up doing 2 dozen regular, 2 dozen mini, and a jumbo for the bday boy. About a week before, I called to confirm my pickup time and day of, I went to collect the cupcakes. Pickup was fast and easy - pull up, call them, they bring the order to your car. Ample parking near the storefront as well. The cupcakes turned out better than I even imagined! The designs were flawless and they tasted even better. I ordered way more thinking we'd have leftovers but they flew off the plates! Our guests were all asking where we had gotten them! Ordered some cupcakes for my boyfriend's birthday and they were a big hit. I did a split dozen of Carrot Cinnamon and Grandma's Chocolate Tea Cake. The packaging was a simple pink pastry box but I love the added bow and the option to add a note card. They have a decent selection of decorations for birthdays and other occasions. My only issue was that you can't order an assortment of cupcakes with the decorations. You can order up to 2 flavors for a dozen, and I do appreciate you can order at different sizes of the cupcakes themselves, but would have been nice to have a little bit more of a flavor option because a lot of their options sound really delicious. There is a predetermined assortment, but I tend to be overly picky , so that could just be a personal issue and should not be a hindranxe in ordering from here! read more

Having a super crappy week and decided my 8 Ozempic bites were going towards something satisfying and carb loaded lol - drove to Sibbys and there were already people in line right at opening. Ordered a single regular sized Choco Choco cupcake for myself . Took the long way home to drive on a very fast road, also to make myself feel better, then arrived home with my precious. It seemed a little small for over $4, but then if I think of getting a dozen for under $50, it seems appropriate, if delicious. Well I ate my precious forbidden cupcake and enjoyed each bit. I planned my sisters bridal shower and I am so glad I picked sibbys cupcakery for the mini cupcakes! They came out to be so cute/classy and exactly what I hoped it to be. When I was placing the order online I was a little worried because I didn't know what design they were going to use. I just wrote in the comments to do all white bridal theme and I am pleased with the way it turned out! I got the vanilla, confetti, and snickerdoodle flavors.
