I was looking for a wedding cake vendor and found simple delights on yelp . I chose them because they had Asian flavored cakes which I wanted (specifically Ube ) I did the taste testing which included ordering mini cakes with different flavors . They were able to execute my vision flawlessly . I wanted a double layer cake with flowers on it , the cake was delicious and the cream was super super yummy . They dropped it off at the restaurant and everything went super smoothly . I highly recommend simple delights if you are in need of a dessert vendor . I also tried there panna cotta when I was in store and it was so so good !!! Super creamy and fresh . read more

We ordered a cake for my son's birthday, and it was absolutely amazing! All the kids and our guests loved it, and several of our friends ended up ordering cakes from them after the party. They were also incredibly accommodating with our custom design request, even though it was placed on short notice. Their excellent service and delicious cake made my son's birthday extra special. Thank you so much for helping create such wonderful memories! I still stop by whenever I have a sweet craving on my cheat days and they never disappoint! read more

The cake itself was moist and had a strong matcha flavor, which was a huge plus. A lot of matcha cakes and pastries tend to have a very subtle matcha taste, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much the matcha flavor came through. I'm also not a huge frosting person, and I believe the cream was buttercream, which was probably the biggest downside for me. It wasn't overly sweet, but the consistency was just too thick for both my husband and me. I even tried leaving it out for over an hour to see if it would soften, but it remained dense. I do wish there were more fruit in the filling. It was mainly cream and a few berries. We sliced the cake on Saturday, and by Monday the exposed part of the cake from where it was cut had become pretty dry. I ended up cutting off the dry outer layer, but thankfully the inside was still moist, so I was able to enjoy the rest of the cake. Ordering through Square was easy. I ordered the 4-inch cake with a marble design, matcha cake, strawberry cream, and strawberries. One thing to note is that if you order the 4-inch cake, there wasn't a section to add custom text. You'll need to email or call them with your order number to let them know what you want written on the cake. Overall, the highlight of the cake was definitely the cake itself. The moisture and strong matcha flavor really stood out and were my favorite parts. If I were to order from this bakery again, I'd probably try a different filling and cream because the buttercream just wasn't for me, but that's more of a personal preference. read more

I was looking for the best carrot cake in the area for someone who loves carrot cake for their birthday and my search led me here! I also wanted something the kids/guests enjoyed and something different so I decided to see if I could add vanilla ice cream to the cake, and they said, "Of course! We haven't done this before but I think that would taste good." And lo and behold, it was amazing- it was a hit with the birthday boy and the guests as well. Their carrot cake is amazing (moist and not too sweet) and they helped with my crazy questions and ideas along the way. I will def go back to have them create my cakes for other occasions! I've previously come here for their ice cream and smaller desserts, which were all great. The service is friendly and quick. Very clean and some seating inside, tho we always just pick up and take items to go. read more

My husband wanted an ice cream cake for his birthday, and I wanted something that wasn't Baskin Robbins. I found Simple Delights via Google and placed my order for an eight-inch cookies and cream ice cream cake for delivery. I chose Simple Delights because they were open and delivered on a Sunday! The whole process was quick and easy. I also ordered a funfetti cookie, a slice of red velvet and pistachio ice cream cake, and furikake snack mix. My order arrived 10 minutes before my 3 p.m. delivery window. Everything was fantastic! The ice cream super good and the cakes were moist. 10/10 I think I've found my new sweet treat spot! read more

When I tell you this cake was finished so fast at my dance teams after party. We were surprising two people on our team who are twin birthdays so I decided to get them this cake after hearing great things from Simple Delights. When the lady called she was very kind and got working the cake and even finished early. I ask them to make a small edit and they were more than willing to do so which I really appreciate. The buttercream was lovely balance of sweetness and earthiness and the ube was rich and just such a fire flavor combo. The strawberries were lovely and I'd love to see if I could do like a strawberry buttercream next time! Overall, this cake left people starstruck and our tastebuds in awe. Will for sure come back for more! read more

Simple Delights - Succulent Cake with Ube Chiffon base and matcha buttercream stuffed with strawberries - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - San Mateo, California

We were lucky enough to have a strawberry ice cream cake from simple delights. My brother-in-law always tries to find places that we haven't gone to. I didn't go to the restaurant so I can't speak to the service or the ambience, but I can't speak to the quality of the cake. It tasted so good. The strawberry ice cream tasted like it was freshly made using fresh strawberries. The cake was the perfect compliment to the ice cream, nice and soft. I would just say that I would like more cake. I felt like the amount of ice cream was huge compared to the amount of cake and I also felt like there wasn't enough frosting, but I still absolutely loved it and highly recommended. I would like to try another of their cakes. read more

I ordered the 90-100 person Dessert Package from Simple Delights for my wedding. The desserts were immediately gone and I didn't even have a chance to have any (although I tasted some cookies and bars beforehand and everything was delicious). Many people commented that they enjoyed the desserts greatly. I can't wait to go back and try the shooters since those were the most popular. Ordering and pickup was seamless. read more

Simple Delights has become a go-to sweets bakery for one of my clients, and they have absolutely delivered every single time. We've ordered several custom birthday cakes through them, and each one has turned out beautifully--both in design and in flavor. I only have a photo of one of the cakes, but the consistency and quality across all of them has been phenomenal. The team here is incredibly friendly, patient, and easy to work with. They really listen to what you're envisioning and know exactly how to execute a client's request with precision and creativity. Every cake they've made has brought so much joy to the celebrations, and it's clear how much care they put into their work. I can't recommend Simple Delights enough. They've made the families I work with extremely happy and have genuinely contributed to some very special moments. If you need a custom cake that's both stunning and delicious, this is the place. read more

High-Quality Ice Cream Cake, Better Than Chains. This review is for the 6-inch chocolate ice cream cake, purchased for a birthday party. * Quality: Excellent. The cake was moist, and the ice cream was well-balanced. It's a clear step up in quality from large chains like Baskin-Robbins. * Value: Good. At $60, it serves 6-8 people, making the price point competitive with chain stores but for a superior product. * Logistics: The location is a little isolated. It is highly recommended to call in advance to check their inventory before you make the trip. * Service: The staff were friendly and efficient. A solid choice for anyone looking for a high-quality ice cream cake. The taste justifies the price and the minor inconvenience of the location. Just be sure to call first. read more

I ordered a small birthday cake from Simple Delights this weekend and I am very impressed. Ordering online through their website for next-day pick up was a breeze. Couldn't have been easier. Good communication with the email confirmation and text reminder when pick up time approached. The chocolate raspberry mousse cake itself was neat, elegant and extremely well executed. I am extremely impressed with their finishing - the mirror glaze was perfect, the raspberries were perfect and even the tiny mint leaves for garnish were perfect! The mousse was silky and the cake underneath was fudgy and divine. It was the perfect cake to cap off my brother's birthday dinner. Thank you, Simple Delights! I look forward to ordering more cakes from you in the future. read more

This is a nice little shop with desserts, and the service is decent. We got the Ube Cheesecake, Matcha Panna Cotta, Ube Butter Mochi, and Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream. The Ube Cheesecake tasted weird as hell and didn't taste at all like Ube. I definitely wouldn't get this awful tasting Cheesecake again. The Matcha Panna Cotta was okay. I could taste a little Matcha, but not a lot. It was nothing special and I have tasted better Panna Cotta. The Ube Butter Mochi was okay. It thankfully tasted better than the Cheesecake and had the right texture. This also tasted fine, but didn't taste like Ube at all. The best thing I tried there was the Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream. It had good flavor and actually tasted like Matcha Green Tea. Overall, most of the desserts were meh. If I am going to pay for the flavoring of these desserts, then I want them to actually taste like the flavor they say. So, I wouldn't recommend this place or come here again. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Simple Delights while trying to order a Mother's Day cake. I specifically called ahead to ask if they offered sugar-free or low-sugar cakes, and the clerk told me they did and instructed me to fill out the online form so someone could send me more information. I submitted the form on Saturday and didn't hear anything back. Since they are closed Mondays, I followed up myself on Tuesday. There had apparently been a mix-up with my email address, which was understandable, and the clerk said they would resend the information. As soon as I received it, I immediately completed the custom cake order form and replied to their email. After hearing nothing again, my husband called on Wednesday, only to be told they would not make the cake because there "wasn't enough time." What was frustrating is that we had contacted them well in advance and had been actively trying to place this order for days. If we had simply been told earlier that they could not accommodate a Mother's Day order, that would have been completely understandable. Instead, we were repeatedly delayed with poor communication and then dismissed at the last minute. My husband politely explained the situation and asked if there was any way they could help us, but the clerk was short, frustrated, and unwilling to work with us at all. The entire interaction felt unfriendly and unhelpful. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the communication and customer service here were extremely disappointing. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

The cake we got for my husband's birthday was incredible, but on top of that the customer service is top notch! As I pulled into the parking lot, my baby fell asleep and the gal (I wish I had gotten her name!) I spoke to on the phone was kind enough to find me in the parking lot and deliver to my car so I didn't have to navigate getting a sleeping baby out of the car to balance a cake! We will absolutely continue to get cakes from this shop! read more

Excellent customer service and a yummy cake that my guests enjoyed is why I highly recommend this place! Jessica was so easy to work with and she created a gorgeous cake that was also sooo yummy. One of the highlights of our wedding day was the cake, and Simple Delights exceeded every expectation. We attended several tastings, sampling a variety of cakes and fillings, and loved them so much that we ended up selecting three different cake+filling combinations for our celebration. On the big day, they delivered a gorgeous two-tier wedding cake that perfectly matched our vision, down to the smallest detail. They also made a phenomenal carrot cake, which turned out to be the surprise hit of the night with our guests. Jessica was great and easy to work with. Two words: ube cake. Uh... sold? My cousin wanted a cake for her baby shower and I remember from doing a quick cake search for her gender reveal that Simple Delights was an option and well, I was put in charge of the cake so I did what I had to do. I stopped by Simple Delights to order a cake a week before I needed it and showed a photo of what I was expecting - green ombre. I received an invoice days later, paid, and just waited for the day to come. They open officially at 11am, but since my event was at 11am, they let me pick up the cake around 9am instead which helped a ton. The cake was a hit. It matched what I was thinking of for the cake and it received the highest praise possible from older Asian people - "it's not too sweet." Simple Delights nailed it and I need another excuse to order an ube cake. read more

My son's 4th birthday party was less than a week away when I finally got myself together to order a cake. I worked with Jessica and her team on a construction-themed birthday cake, and we were so excited to see what they came up with. I had seen other Yelp reviews with construction cakes so had a really good starting point. We wanted to have the cake share colors with the Pupstruction show so I shared the Pupstruction logo. Email communication plus a phone call was all Jessica and team needed for the cake. Jessica's team even purchased construction vehicles from Amazon - and within the relatively short timeline. We were really happy with how the cake turned out and (most importantly) so was our son. Success! We'll be back. read more

Simple Delights is my go-to for cakes that are not overly sweet. They often have cakes available at the shop without advance reservation, and I have picked them up a few times when I forgot to prepare birthday cakes for my kids. I ordered an ube cake with cream cheese frosting to thank a group of volunteers, and couldn't be happier with the result. The cascading flowers were piped beautifully. They looked like actual flowers, maybe even better. The cake came packaged securely in a box that was 2" larger on each side. I had no problems driving home with it going over a few speed bumps. Above all, the taste was amazing! Everyone commented on how light and airy the cake and frosting were...and a few of them normally didn't even like cake.
