Cookie and Cream Ice Cream Cakes (8-inch)
    Chandra D.

My husband wanted an ice cream cake for his birthday, and I wanted something that wasn't Baskin Robbins. I found Simple Delights via Google and placed my order for an eight-inch cookies and cream ice cream cake for delivery. I chose Simple Delights because they were open and delivered on a Sunday! The whole process was quick and easy. I also ordered a funfetti cookie, a slice of red velvet and pistachio ice cream cake, and furikake snack mix. My order arrived 10 minutes before my 3 p.m. delivery window. Everything was fantastic! The ice cream super good and the cakes were moist. 10/10 I think I've found my new sweet treat spot!

We were lucky enough to have a strawberry ice cream cake from simple delights. My brother-in-law always tries to find places that we haven't gone to. I didn't go to the restaurant so I can't speak to the service or the ambience, but I can't speak to the quality of the cake. It tasted so good. The strawberry ice cream tasted like it was freshly made using fresh strawberries. The cake was the perfect compliment to the ice cream, nice and soft. I would just say that I would like more cake. I felt like the amount of ice cream was huge compared to the amount of cake and I also felt like there wasn't enough frosting, but I still absolutely loved it and highly recommended. I would like to try another of their cakes.

Simple Delights has become a go-to sweets bakery for one of my clients, and they have absolutely delivered every single time. We've ordered several custom birthday cakes through them, and each one has turned out beautifully--both in design and in flavor. I only have a photo of one of the cakes, but the consistency and quality across all of them has been phenomenal. The team here is incredibly friendly, patient, and easy to work with. They really listen to what you're envisioning and know exactly how to execute a client's request with precision and creativity. Every cake they've made has brought so much joy to the celebrations, and it's clear how much care they put into their work. I can't recommend Simple Delights enough. They've made the families I work with extremely happy and have genuinely contributed to some very special moments. If you need a custom cake that's both stunning and delicious, this is the place.

High-Quality Ice Cream Cake, Better Than Chains. This review is for the 6-inch chocolate ice cream cake, purchased for a birthday party. * Quality: Excellent. The cake was moist, and the ice cream was well-balanced. It's a clear step up in quality from large chains like Baskin-Robbins. * Value: Good. At $60, it serves 6-8 people, making the price point competitive with chain stores but for a superior product. * Logistics: The location is a little isolated. It is highly recommended to call in advance to check their inventory before you make the trip. * Service: The staff were friendly and efficient. A solid choice for anyone looking for a high-quality ice cream cake. The taste justifies the price and the minor inconvenience of the location. Just be sure to call first.

    Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Cake

I ordered a small birthday cake from Simple Delights this weekend and I am very impressed. Ordering online through their website for next-day pick up was a breeze. Couldn't have been easier. Good communication with the email confirmation and text reminder when pick up time approached. The chocolate raspberry mousse cake itself was neat, elegant and extremely well executed. I am extremely impressed with their finishing - the mirror glaze was perfect, the raspberries were perfect and even the tiny mint leaves for garnish were perfect! The mousse was silky and the cake underneath was fudgy and divine. It was the perfect cake to cap off my brother's birthday dinner. Thank you, Simple Delights! I look forward to ordering more cakes from you in the future.

I just tried this place and got a vanilla panna cotta with strawberries. It was tasty and it was $7.25 I did like it while I do think it could cost a little less and was a little pricey for me but it was still good.

ube and matcha ice cream cake option!

I love the selection of desserts at this shop. You can get a three layer cake or small personal sized desserts to share! I recently ordered three (a raspberry, chocolate, and mango) small cakes as a post birthday treat. Ordering was easy on their website and they were all really delicious!

Wonderful customer service!! Easy to communicate with as I live in Oregon and was able to plan a surprise 80th number cake for my dad's birthday. It was absolutely absolutely divine! We got the Ube with whipped chiffon frosting. I've never had more people come up to me and asked me. Where did you get this cake? It was absolutely delicious.

    Matcha Green Tea Panna Cotta

This is a nice little shop with desserts, and the service is decent. We got the Ube Cheesecake, Matcha Panna Cotta, Ube Butter Mochi, and Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream. The Ube Cheesecake tasted weird as hell and didn't taste at all like Ube. I definitely wouldn't get this awful tasting Cheesecake again. The Matcha Panna Cotta was okay. I could taste a little Matcha, but not a lot. It was nothing special and I have tasted better Panna Cotta. The Ube Butter Mochi was okay. It thankfully tasted better than the Cheesecake and had the right texture. This also tasted fine, but didn't taste like Ube at all. The best thing I tried there was the Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream. It had good flavor and actually tasted like Matcha Green Tea. Overall, most of the desserts were meh. If I am going to pay for the flavoring of these desserts, then I want them to actually taste like the flavor they say. So, I wouldn't recommend this place or come here again.

Thank you Simple Delights for my wedding cake!! I was a little worried since I never tried their cakes before but my wedding cake came out perfect! Not only was it beautiful but it also tasted amazing. I got the ube flavor with vanilla buttercream based on their recommendation and it was delicious and not too sweet. I actually didn't even need a cake topper since the cake turned out so nice!

I ordered a premade chocolate mousse cake for a birthday as well as some chocolate chip cookies. Both were a hit and not overly sweet. The staff was very friendly and answered questions with the out hesitation. It's a cute shop that I need to return to so I can try out the I retesting ice cream flavors

She was definitely a drive from San Jose to San Mateo but well worth it. When you pull up to her house, it may be difficult to find parking as other customers are picking up-- I ended up waiting for 1 person to pull out of her driveway so that I could park. The street is pretty packed with cars. Can I first say what a pleasure she is in person? Claire is super sweet and she's the reason I love supporting small business. We ordered the Mocha Crunch cake. Current prices are $50 for an 8". It's cash only so be prepared. The cake itself is on the light side (not as light as Asian cakes but I wouldn't call it dense either). Unlike some other reviewers that found it dry-- I highly disagree as it was not the most moist cake I've ever tried-- But it wasn't dry either. It was right in between and good enough for us. The Mocha flavor was lightly infused in the frosting and filling. It wasn't super overpowering but it was definitely there. The crunch topping was perfect and so unique. The only other place I've tried a crunch topping is in a latte from Kamurocho in Pleasanton. They have a "Honeycomb Latte" that is amazing. We served half the cake at one gathering and we ended up bringing the leftovers to another gathering. The cake was devoured. If you haven't tried Claire's Crunch Cake's yet, do yourself a favor and support a small business and meet the sweetest woman.

We had a party with 10 people and we couldn't finish the cake! The crunch was really good and special, the cake itself doesn't really present the mocha flavor, as a result, after a few bites, the cake became too sweet. We were all hoping the bitterness from the mocha coffee flavor can balance out the crunch but we were disappointed. Interestingly, we then moved onto eating a chocolate cake from Marvel Cake and the chocolate was able to balance out the sweetness and cleansed our pallet a bit. We all felt that a cup of coffee would be perfect with this cake. The cake inside could also be a bit more moist. So all in all, the crunch got the thumbs up but the overall cake not so much.

On the day of our Vow Renewal, my wife and I were running late, and were pleasantly surprised to find that the catering staff had taken it upon themselves to carefully put out our centerpieces, which we thought we would have to do. They even packed them away at the end of the night. We got multiple compliments from guests admiring the service. The team was extremely friendly, packed away leftovers for us and other guests, and was on top of their game the whole night! Ali was flexible with our last-minute changes, and Brian even drove to multiple locations just to find the same wine we drank on our honeymoon (which was a hit) so guests could partake. The food was extraordinary and the servers were super great at getting folks to "splurge" and just have one more. Oh my gosh, most folks beamed with pleasure after tasting the Beef wellingstons, the lettuce wraps, the crab cakes, those pear tarlets! Some even carried on discussion on how healthy the appetizers were. Cheat A Little selections were really a hit! The greenery/decor made a nice festive touch that seemed to invite folks over to have a coke or a little wine and cheer. We had a live acoustic musician playing in the background, and the whole time was bathed in warmth and good tidings. It was beyond enjoyable, delicious, and great. I'm fairly new at the San Mateo County History Museum, so I don't have the years of experience that others might have to know how well adapted you and your company Cheat-A-Little are to these events. I am so pleased with myself for trusting you. High-five, a TEN, perfect score for you and your excellent catering business my friend! Under the Rotunda the set up, quality foods, and tall tables made it the finest, friendliest, most festive time. We are so so pleased. Thanks a million! Thanks from the San Mateo County History Museum staff!

Maison Alyzée is a French fine pastry bakery café located on downtown Burlingame's main strip. Dedicated to providing customers with a Parisian escape through handcrafted elegant pastries and artisanal breads, the bake shoppe doubles as pâtisserie and boulangerie, priding itself on meticulous attention to detail. Upon entry, we were welcomed by a brightly lit and very clean venue. Ray and I were immediately drawn to the beautiful marble-topped white counter that encased a gorgeous variety of exquisite treats. The commitment to the elegance of French culture and modern creativity were evident in every luxurious pastry and cake on display. Maison Alyzée is an order-at-the-counter establishment, so we made our purchase with a friendly staff member at the register. Unfortunately, we were told that espresso drinks were no longer available that night since the staff had already begun cleaning the machines. Ok....I never understand businesses that start shutting down things before closing time. This just shows customers that team convenience of closing shop quickly takes precedence over customer experience, essentially omitting availability of items from the menu while they are still open. For this reason, I am docking a star. Luckily, they still had some cold brew available, so I ordered a Lavender Cold Brew with oat milk. Heads-up: Plant-based milks like almond and oat milk incur a $0.75 surcharge. I wish that the lavender was more like a simple syrup, so that the flavour was sweeter and less sharp.
