We visited this restaurant on a weekday for a early dinner around 6pm. Customers mostly do takeouts from here, but they do have a few tables to be seated. We ordered scallion pancakes and vegetables rolls for appetizers which was delicious. Basil fried rice was tasty and flavorful too. Reason for 3 star - we ordered spicy basil pad Thai, instead got the normal pad Thai which was very sweet and soggy. We did not get back to the waiter instead decided to give it a try but ended up wasting half a plate of food as it was not as per our taste. Apart from that, the food is worth a try! read more

I was pretty happy meeting a friend for lunch here. It seems to be more of a take-out joint, but there is a little bit of seating. I ordered Beef Pad Kee Mao (thai hot) and the Spicy Wings. The drunken noodles were tasty, but not really *that* spicy. It came with thin rice noodles and only a few simple kinds of vegetables, but at least there was thai basil. I tried to get some extra spicy sauce to raise the head a bit, but the waitress only eventually came back with a thimble of sambal. It seemed obvious that they weren't used to people dining in. The wings well fried and pretty juicy, but not particularly spicy. I'd probably try a different kind of chicken wing next time. read more

Pretty good lunch spot in the financial district. It gets insanely busy, so I would recommend ordering online through any app. I usually get the duck fried rice which is a pretty big portion and has a bunch of pieces of duck. To be honest, it can get a little bit greasy at times, but it's fried rice. The oil ties all the ingredients together and definitely adds flavor. Some of my coworkers order their spicy dishes and believe that it won't be spicy enough. My advice, don't try to be a hero on your first time here. It is pretty spicy. read more

I had the absolute WORST delivery experience from this restaurant. They get one star for being on time. That's it. I got stir fried udon noodles with just veggies. I specified no carrots or onions. Guess who got a chicken surprise! THIS girl did. womp. I don't mean to prim and pluck, but if I were allergic or a vegetarian...well then what?? -keels over and dies- Manfriend got the red curry. The only thing right about that order was the brown rice. He got maybe three whole pieces of chicken and it wasn't spicy. Our chicken wings were also soggy and doused in sauce. I never knew chickens were made to swim. This was terrible. I won't be reordering or coming here. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHITTY PLACE!!! Thorough unprofressionals, total mismanagement. It takes 25 mins for a simple order during Lunch hours (not due to Crowd rush). My friend ordered a Crispy Chicken Pad Thai and the waitress gave Crispy Pad Thai. After the waitress realizing their mistake, they did not even exchange it for the correct item and gave the Crispy Chicken Pad Thai to some other person. Sad Sad people really. read more

This is a bit misleading because it's not my typical "restaurant review", but I was so happy to discover Siam Bistro in the Financial District that I wanted to write about them. Tired of the choices here in my neighborhood, I recently ordered from Siam Bistro for delivery after I found their flyer in my apartment. I started my dinner with an order of Tom Yum Noodle Soup ($10.95) a spicy Thai hot and sour soup that has scallions, bean sprouts, ground peanuts and plenty of shellfish. Unlike many Thai restaurants in Boston, Siam Bistro doesn't skimp on the seafood, which it fills with octopus, mussels and shrimp. The portion is large enough to serve as a meal or to share. This soup was so tasty I couldn't help but over indulge. It was also the first time I've ever ordered this soup in Boston and thought - damn, that's spicy so if you like a bit of heat with your meal, this is an obvious and delicious option to consider. I opted to order their "most popular dish", Mango Curry ($12.95), which was also a bit spicy but less so than the soup and really quite delicious as well as large enough to be shared especially if you order a side of brown rice. Boston has more than its share of mediocre Thai restaurants and I'm by no means an expert on this cuisine, but the food tasted as if it was freshly made, the plates that indicated they were spicy (actually were spicy) and the portions were generous. Add to that fact that they delivered to my home in less than 45 minutes and the driver was exceptionally polite; and I couldn't help but rave about them. read more

Updating my review. I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. This is my go-to Thai and comfort food. I ordered in advance this last time and the order arrived promptly and hot. Everything is always delicious and they really make to order if you have any special dietary restrictions. Love this place. Cannot say enough good things. read more

Loved it! I was visiting Boston for a few days and was out for a walk when I passed Siam Bistro. I love Thai and thought it sounded like a great departure from all the seafood I had been eating. So I quickly ordered take away from my phone (thanks Yelp app). I got the Pad Thai with pork, Sweet and Sour Mix and Match and the Bulgoki. Everything was so flavorful...every dish I tried was my favorite. But I really loved the Bulgoki and the Sweet and Sour Mix the best, they're a must try. Siam Bistro is very tiny, they do have seating but it's probably best for take away. Can't wait until I back in Boston so I can come here again. read more

Reclusive apartment trolls need food too. So I decided to order from here this evening (Delivery, OF COURSE) I ordered the teriyaki salmon with steamed veggies + an extra side of steamed veggies. The salmon was a tad overcooked, and sort of dry, but still quite tasty. The vegetables were absolutely DELICIOUS though! Super fresh and very very yummy. I'll definitely order from here again because A) They actually DO deliver here- although they are a mile away, there are tons of places who are closer and will not deliver here. Why no love for the West End? B) The delivery gal was super sweet and actually was happy, friendly person unlike some of the characters who I open the foyer door to. Really great overall. we had the basil fried rice and pad say you. the food was great but i can see why people punish them for taking so long by giving out 2 stars. we were fortunate to be the only ones there so food came out in 15 minutes and it was delicious! i've had better thai tea back in la but considering how late it was, we were just so glad to get some decent thai food in otherwise closed down financial district. siam bistro was a god send from saving us from another fast food run back in back bay. read more

This place has above average Thai food. The masaman curry is out of this world delicious. The fried coconut shrimp comes with a fantastic orange marmalade. My wife got the pad thai and said it was very good. I ate her leftovers the day after and I would have to agree. I highly recommend this restaurant for delivery to South Boston. read more

I've complained before about the orders they place for me but honestly the food is so good i have to put the stars back up! SOOO good. if you are in downtown and want Thai, go here and no where else! This is the second time they have messed my order up. The first time I ordered Spicy Crispy Chicken Basil but was given the Chicken Basil which doesn't have the fried, breaded chicken that I love! Today I ordered Crispy Chicken Pad Thai and instead I got the Crispy Noodle Chicken Pad Thai. Suggestions: Siam - ask follow up questions if you are confused about what we order and know the differences between similar named dishes. Customers - when you order out, remove the staple and check the food before leaving. You might have an unpleasant surprise if you don't. read more

This is very high quality thai food, and I have eaten at plenty of Thai places. My favorite is their drunken noodle - I seriously drool every time I think about it. The place is right next to my work building, so I'd always call them 10-20 minutes ahead of time (depending on how close to lunch rush hour it is) and pick up. I do think their curry dishes don't have enough sauce, and the general spice level at their dishes could be too much for some people - but it's perfect for me. Overall, very high quality for the price. read more

This place makes it into my bi-weekly lunch rotation. The food is fresh and very flavorful. Beats Rock Sugar hands down any day of the week. Some people are saying it's not authentic. The people who work there have accents like they're fresh off the boat (and names to match) so I don't think it's a matter of knowing how to make "real" Thai food. All I know is it taste good. The people complaining about the wait are probably the same ones who get out of their seats and form a line to get off the train. If you want bad Asian-ish food kept warm under a heatlamp go to Jane's and serve yourself. This food is FRESH. MADE. TO. ORDER. Call ahead and it'll be ready by the time you walk down the street to get it. read more

I have only gotten delivery from Siam and I have very rarely been disappointed. My favorite is their green curry with shrimp and tofu and a side of brown rice, yum yum. The broth is super flavorful I can always been seen drinking it out of the bowl, no shame. Its a great balance of spice and is packed with the protein and veggies. The pad thai is also a classic but can be a hit or miss. If you don't ask for it spicy it is generally flavorless and doesn't look very appetizing. The tom yum soup is uber spicy and is like a silky flavorful jalapeño running down your throat, as you can see I love spicy. Delivery takes about an 1 or so and I don't work to far from here. Im not sure if its a lunch time rush (that happens at all hours of the day) or what but it does take a while for it to arrive. read more

Delivery took nearly 2 hours! They said it was very busy night. Driver called twice, was confused with other deliveries. Meanwhile our food was touring Boston as he drove around with our food for 50 minutes. Food finally showed up cold and slimy, ladened with grease. Repeatedly had to call to fight for a refund. First they offered 1/2 off, then finally said ok to full refund because the delivery took so long. This place not only has terrible delivery service, poor quality food, but also terrible customer service. read more

Below average Thai fare. Tom yum soup lacked flavor. Spicy basil stir fry is loaded with oil and super spicy despite a request for "mild." The Pad Thai was okay, though it was served with beef instead of the chicken we requested. And it lacked flavorful and texture-laden additions like peanuts, crunchy bean sprouts and fresh lime. We ordered delivery through foodler (since the yelp delivery mechanism wasn't working) - they delivered in the window they promised though the delivery guy was "missing" when we got to our building's lobby. Seems he was hanging out inside his car instead. Rice is not included with any entree. read more

3.9 Stars The long lines are gone. The food is actually quite good. My lunch fav The Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao) are well seasoned/spiced, as are most things marked thus. So, is it a Rod Dee or S&I class place? Not quite but is decent. Prices are what you expect at the Waterfront/Financial district. * just a take out seating is not comfortable. * compromises somewhat on the heat but they have the chuncky garlic chili sauce in little containers. * quality veggies used in dishes, always crisp and fresh * curious to see Bulgoki and Udon on a Thai menu? * current wait times are under 10 min read more

This place is not that good and they take forever on your orders! Getting lunch here is really a struggle, even when ordering ahead online. Beyond that, the food isn't even that great. I've tired to pad see ew and pad thai, and both times I was pretty disappointed. I asked to make it spicy, and for spice on the side; neither request accommodated. The pad see ew came in lots of liquid, its like the dish was supposed to be a soup...but its not. Just not very good altogether. With the servers being rude, wait time being long, and the food being below par... skip it. Go to U&D kitchen down the street instead. read more

Food gets 4.5 stars, speed of service gets 1 star. I, too, am a long-time Rock Sugar fan, brought here by another Rock Sugar fan who, ironically enough, grew tired of the wait at Rock Sugar. The way around the wait is to call in your order from your desk before you go. And please do so, because the food is great, and I have to say that it's just as spicy and a little bit lighter than Rock Sugar. I'll definitely go back, probably when it's warmer and I can take it to the Greenway to eat. But I will call ahead to save the wait, because it can get crowded and it can take a while, esp. for a Friday lunch. read more

Solid take-out Thai food in the Downtown/Financial district. So far I've taken out 3 times (pad thai, curry, fried ice cream) and haven't been disappointed! Because there are so few Asian meal options in the financial district, Siam Bistro can be a welcomed change to one's lunch routine. However, the restaurant just isn't at the capacity it should be to handle the lunch crowd of working professionals who want to bring their food back to the office. I've been to this spot a few times and the wait was around 15 minutes the first two visits. Alright, fine--I can handle that. However, the last time I stopped in, I waited for nearly a half hour. Perhaps that's reasonable for sit-down dining but certainly not when you're waiting for takeout to bring back to the office. During the lunch-time hours, Siam Bistro seriously needs to beef up its staff. On my most recent visit, I ordered the red curry. I was disappointed by the insane amount of rice that was included. Less filler, more curry, please! Also, I was bummed to see they seriously skimped out on the coconut milk. My recommendation to all those working in the financial district: Hold off on your Thai cravings at lunch. You might as well wait for the after-work hours when you can venture out to a restaurant elsewhere in the city like Chilli Duck or Brown Sugar Cafe. read more

Food is good but if you are ordering take out, check your order before walking out the door. Now twice I have found that they don't do the order as you request and I end up with a crapy lunch hour because they don't follow instructions. I have been coming to dine here for the last couple years, but recently getting served as if I was at a clam shack. The food here is amazing but to dine in is horrible as far as preparation and service. I mean if Im dining in at least give me a real plate and not paper so that the hot chicken wings do not infuse with the styrofoam as it melts right through Also if the employees are on break eating how about eating out of site of customers and do not leave your bowl in my eating area. Next time I order Ill make sure to get take out only. 5 stars for quality of food. read more

Decided to give it a try after reading many positive reviews! And I was not disappointed. I ordered delivery through yelp which was fast and punctual and the food was piping hot. I ordered the duck fried rice and chicken with broccoli. Food was very tasty with the perfect balance of flavor and texture. Impressed by the first time, I ordered another delivery couple of weeks later- this is it was Korean bulgogi. Again consistently great food and on-time hot delivery. I am definitely gonna try out more in the future Positive experience every time. Strongly recommended. read more

We ordered Siam Bistro for delivery last night after finding a wayward, stray menu in our apartment lobby. It's a little on the pricey side (in my ever-so-humble opinion) but when we got the food it ended up being worth it. I ordered the Phu-Ket Fried Rice (spicy seafood and veggies) and I requested "mild" heat. I'm glad I did because I can't imagine how my esophagus would have felt if the heat had been racheted up a few levels! It was very good and they were heavy handed with the seafood. We also ordered the Ginger Chicken (SO says it was super tasty and he ate the whole thing so I believe him). The Crab Rangoon was really good and for a change, they have a pineapple dipping sauce (rather than sweet and sour). Yum. Finally, we were feeling fat so we also ordered the spring rolls. Delish. All of that came to just over $47.00 (with tip and delivery fee). Definitely good food and we will be ordering again! read more

I am in love with this place! The food is DELICIOUS and I keep coming back over and over again! Recommendations: Siam Fried Rice, Garlic Ginger Wings (delicious!), Fresh Roll (if you are into it), any Duck dishes, Crispy Banana desert, Tom Yum soup - were ALL a HIT to me! Have been waiting for the longest time for this place to open. A Thai restaurant opened in the financial district and it doesn't close at 5pm like all the other restaurants on the same street. Even better was the huge sign they put outside saying it's 30% off the entire menu to celebrate the grand opening. I must say that I was a bit disappointed with the service and the food. We only ordered take out. One time, we called and when we arrived to pick up the order, we found that the order was never called into the kitchen. Already waited over 5 minutes to get to the front of the line for service. Didn't want to wait another 10-15 for the food. Second time was a bit better. We got some food. Unfortunately, they messed up on the order. Someone within the group ordered the Tom Yum Noodle Soup. In the description, there's seafood. No seafood here. I think they gave us the Chicken noodle soup instead. I'll attribute this to the opening week issues. As for the food, the Pad Thai was at best average. Two overcooked shrimps and maybe a quarter of a whole chicken breast worth of meat. It was a bit bland for my tastes and I think they just use the "Pad Thai" sauce from a can. The Siam dumplings had no flavor. We ordered it steamed, but I wished we ordered it fried so I could at least taste something, even if it's the greasy oil. The dipping sauce was heavily relied upon to finish the dumplings. The one thing that I did enjoy was the red bean ice cream. Not a lot of places offer that, so it's always a treat whenever I find it. read more

I order food often from here since it's right across from where I work and am routinely impressed by the quality and the promptness. You can order your food on GrubHub and pick it up when it's ready which is even better since you don't have to sit around waiting. During peak hours, this place gets pretty busy. It's awkward since people are just lingering around waiting for their food. If you choose to dine in the restaurant, there is limited seating (probably 15-20 seats). As for the food, I have never been disappointed. From their Pad Thai to their Yellow Curry, it is seriously some of the best Thai food I've ever eaten. They are consistently good. This isn't a place that I'd take anyone on a date to, but this is a great place when you're in a bind for time during lunch, or working late in the office. Definitely check it out. read more

The food is great if you have an American palate aka burger king rocks. The food is sadly nowhere near authentic enough to get high marks. The waits are crazy 20 plus minutes is a no no in this part of town. After reading some reviews of decent food here on Yelp, decided to give this place a shot. I ordered the tom yum noodle soup and requested very spicy and they did not disappoint. Now I was prepared for a decent level tom yum soup but the seafood in there brought the dish to an elevated level. I was happy to confirm that the seafood was so fresh and high quality it was the star of the show. The scallops, calamari, mussels, shrimp tasted as though they were caught this morning and most definitely not from frozen seafood. You could really taste the subtle flavors of each protein and the wonderful textures of seafood (not rubbery or undercooked) and I would definitely order this from here again. If you're craving seafood, I'd recommend the tom yum soup (though it is probably smaller portion-wise). Very affordable for excellent quality seafood and cooked to perfection. read more

I do not recommend. I stopped by for a late lunch and although my food was very fresh I really was not impressed overall. Maybe it was everything served in take-out containers Maybe it was the fishy bok choy Maybe it was the dirty lid to my off smelling tea in a styrofoam cup Or maybe it was the rice on the table I was sitting at. I think the food I had was over priced for the portion and quality. I will admit the salmon, although small and tough, had a beautiful sear. read more
