Fast & delicious food. I made an honest mistake of ordering the standard "basil fried rice" but the level of heat was so intense I still have a stomach burn after a few bites. I called them up and asked if they could make it again with less to no heat if I brought back the original dish. They said they would need to charge me again regardless. Truly the best pad Thai in Boston. I always get mine with the crispy duck (HIGHLY recommend.) The crab Rangoon are also amazing! And the scallion pancakes. You really can't go wrong. Wow, I just re-read my several-year-old review and I feel bad. At the time, as a broke college grad, maybe that was accurate about pricing. But we come here for takeout fairly often, and it's always good. Their flavors are always spot on, and the sauces always pair well with each dish. Recently I tried the spicy chicken wings and the beef noodle soup, and they were killer. Typical Thai-American staples like pad-see-ew and pad thai are always great (get it with crispy chicken. I ate it before I realized that I should have taken a picture of my delicious and fresh Shrimp Pad Thai! A coworker introduced me to this place today, it was a ten minute walk from the office past the usual food trucks to a corner Thai bistro near the Rose Kennedy Walkway. The restaurant is located on the street level of the building, upstairs is a nail salon. You'd hope the the smell of steaming Thai food could over power the smell of nail polish, but it doesn't! But when you walk into this cozy place, the aroma is delightful. I order my shrimp pad Thai and he ordered pineapple fried rice. Then the sticker shock -- it would take 20 minutes for the order! Which is fine but unexpected maybe because the food is fresh and made to order! They delivered our orders to us and we were on our way. Back at the office the pippin hot food was still pippin hot! The aroma was delightful, the noodles had a delicate sweetness that wasn't overpowering. The shrimp, fresh and delicious. It was definitely WORTH IT! I went to Siam Bistro last August when i was visiting Boston. After a almost 20 hr bus ride, I was wondering on the street looking for sth to wake up my taste bud. I saw Thai, so I went in with no doubt. Boss and waitress are very friendly. Looks like a family business (I have a thing for family business) I ordered Siam Paradise Noodle. I was very surprised to see the rich seafood inside the noodle soup. The broth is very nice too if you appreciate fish sauce. I really like the squid, very tasty and not over cooked. It was a very nice dish, just the scallop tasted a little bit plain. Overall, it is not like like some place that after your first bite will be like OMG. THIS IS AMAZING. I was looking for something fast and easy but needed to stay close by to meet up with my bff from the "country". She was going to come off I 93 and I knew if she drove in the city she'd get lost and be miserable (understatement on the miserable...more like fuming). I was directed to get the rice or noodles but I had a horrible vision of me dumping it all over myself as I stood on the side of Pearl with my 10 lb backpack. So I opted for finger food and went with the Siam Spring rolls and fried dumplings. I knew these scrumptious juicy morsels were packed with a zillion Weight Watcher points but this was an emergency! My bff needed me to drive her to the Wang "in time" to catch the showing of Grease and I knew I didn't have time to actually sit and eat. The place is small so it may get crowded and busy during lunch but it was the end of the day so I was the only one there. My backpack was filled with my work stuff and presents for my country mouse so it was great to sit and relax. The guy who took my order was really nice as I scanned the menu, placed my order and dropped the kitchen sink at one of the tables. He knew I was in a hurry and was great about getting me my order fast. I took my bag of goodies and raced down street to wait. Of course I tried to munch and move at the same time and am surprised I didn't burn my tongue when I bit into the rolls. There were 5 of them and about six dumplings, I think. I lost track since I was hurrying to eat as I saw her pull up to the curb. The spring rolls were just the right size and amount. They were crispy with a soft center but not greasy. Everything I have ordered from there is delicious. Not only this, but they have great customer service. I ordered food there via uber eats (which I will not do again) and they actually called me to follow up and make sure my food was delivered. It ended up my driver took the food and ran with it so the restaurant made me a whole new fresh order and made sure it was delivered to me ASAP, even though they were about to close for the night. I will definitely continue ordering from them but only directly from them. The third party delivery companies are awful to deal with and the restaurant loses money from their negligence. read more

My friend and I can upon this restaurant on a whim. On a Thursday night around 6:45pm due to be place we originally wanted to eat dinner was extremely packed we walked a block down and found Siam. Food - we had the crab Rangoon for an appetizer, they were pretty good, the sauce that it came with was different and delicious. For our main courses I had the yellow curry wth shrimp and my friend had the mango curry. For dinner entrees you must order rice if you want it apart if your meal. Only lunch options do the entrees come with rice. Location: great location in the downtown area at a corner. Can't miss it. Atmosphere: Small space, not for large crowd or groups of people. Not fancy and if you decide to eat your food their it will be on a paper plate with plastic utensils. Service: 3/5. I guess we are here in a busy take out day because as we tried to place our food order, she kept cutting us off to answer the phones and take those orders as we waiting in front of her. Let's just say it took 10 minutes to order out food while we were physically there without a line. Not really inviting or friendly. 4 stars for the fast service once food was ordered and food meal. Found this little gem on my way home from work and was pleasantly surprised. The duck on the phad thai was fried to perfection and the cashew sauce on the vegetables was lightly sweet but extremely tasty. The portion sizes were also very generous--I'll definitely have enough for leftovers tomorrow! Overall, would recommend. Another great meal delivered from Siam Bistro. You can order delivery direct from their web site to avoid the third-party delivery companies. It is so much better for the restaurant as they recover from the COVID downturn. The fresh rolls are delish with choice of pork or shrimp. Every curry dish I have had is wonderful. Many dishes don't come with rice, so check that carefully when on-line ordering. You need to choose protein, spice level, and keep scrolling down for rice options. Great location for Thai food within the financial district especially towards the night when most places close for the evening. I would definitely call ahead so that you can pick up the food and go. Favorites of mines include the pad-c-u which is a wide rice noodle dish cooked in a sweet soy sauce, similar to the chow fun at Cantonese places. Another is the Tom Yum fried rice which is a tasty fried rice infused with flavors of the famous Thai soup, Tom Yum soup. Their dumpling/tofu soups are great as well and my coworkers love their crab rangoons. This is a place in heavy rotation for my team as we stay late for work and everyone loves the food! read more

If you want your lunch packed with flavor, and including healthy ingredients from all the food groups, in my opinion you can't do better in the whole Financial District/Waterfront area than this little spot on the corner of Pearl St. and Purchase St. Not only is the food delicious, but the staff are very nice and accommodating. Today I felt like having salmon with some vegetables in a tasty sauce. I ordered the Mix and Match "ginger" option and asked if I could add garlic. I received a perfectly cooked, juicy piece of salmon in a delicious sauce that included onions, mushrooms, peppers, yellow squash, and celery, with brown rice to soak it all in. Sorry, there are plenty of solid lunch options in the area, but you can't beat this lunch anywhere. read more

Been in Boston for two plus years now and still struggling to find five star Thai. Siam does some things well, but when I think about everything I enjoy - they fall flat. We have tried a number of things from here on a number of occasions. It's decent and fulfills a basic craving for Thai food, but it just isn't great across the board. I have found that I have to stick to the same things - and there is often quite inconsistent portion sizes every time I order. The pad see ew (I know I butchered that spelling) is the one solid dish I can rely on as far as flavors. They also get brownie points for having scallion pancakes which are pretty darn delish and come with an amazing sauce. When I had my Thai craving, this has become the go to, but I know there has to be something better out there in the city. read more

I'm hoping that were was a major earth shattering event that screwed them up so badly that people were waiting for like 30-45 minutes for lunch. Sure, ask yourself why would anyone wait that long but once you've ordered, paid, and have been waiting you are going through with the crazy commitment of just getting food on your lunch break. So when I went a few weeks back I had some crazy wait. Not as bad as 45 minutes but some woman there waited that long ans she was more than happy to let everyone else know about it. I think that waiting over 20 minutes for some pad thai is just too long. While their pad thai was good for financial district thai I think I will just head in the opposite direction for thai in Chinatown. I ordered their shrimp pad thai thinking that is classic (like ordering spaghetti and meatballs at an Italian place) thing to prepare. Everyone knows it and can compare it to other places so it is your goal to serve it well, no? Well it was done decently with a few shrimp and plenty of peanuts on top. Hopefully they will sort out their problems with staffing/cooking at lunch to run things smoothly and to avoid long waits. So the service was pretty much what you'd expect, but the food was exactly what a 3 star rating embodies: "A-OK." Try the duck soup, but trust me, you don't need to get double noodles, I'm serious, I don't care if you haven't eaten in a week, don't do it. Overall, it's a solid dish, and super tasty with just the right kick of spice. Don't bother with the calamari. Obviously from a frozen bag, fried, no flavor, served on a paper plate. Not worth it. So basically, it's open on the weekend in the otherwise desolate Financial District, and the food is decent, so there it is. read more

I have had bad but edible Thai before but this was disgusting and inedible. Tried to return it but the only option was to get something else instead. If they screwed up 3 out of 3 things I figured the only thing I would get out of ordering something else was a loss of 10 minutes waiting for more garbage. I was pretty happy meeting a friend for lunch here. It seems to be more of a take-out joint, but there is a little bit of seating. I ordered Beef Pad Kee Mao (thai hot) and the Spicy Wings. The drunken noodles were tasty, but not really *that* spicy. It came with thin rice noodles and only a few simple kinds of vegetables, but at least there was thai basil. I tried to get some extra spicy sauce to raise the head a bit, but the waitress only eventually came back with a thimble of sambal. It seemed obvious that they weren't used to people dining in. We visited this restaurant on a weekday for a early dinner around 6pm. Customers mostly do takeouts from here, but they do have a few tables to be seated. We ordered scallion pancakes and vegetables rolls for appetizers which was delicious. Basil fried rice was tasty and flavorful too. Reason for 3 star - we ordered spicy basil pad Thai, instead got the normal pad Thai which was very sweet and soggy. Pretty good lunch spot in the financial district.It gets insanely busy, so I would recommend ordering online through any app. I usually get the duck fried rice which is a pretty big portion and has a bunch of pieces of duck. To be honest, it can get a little bit greasy at times, but it's fried rice. The oil ties all the ingredients together and definitely adds flavor. Some of my coworkers order their spicy dishes and believe that it won't be spicy enough. My advice, don't try to be a hero on your first time here. It is pretty spicy. read more

Loved it! I was visiting Boston for a few days and was out for a walk when I passed Siam Bistro. I love Thai and thought it sounded like a great departure from all the seafood I had been eating. So I quickly ordered take away from my phone (thanks Yelp app). I got the Pad Thai with pork, Sweet and Sour Mix and Match and the Bulgoki. Everything was so flavorful...every dish I tried was my favorite. But I really loved the Bulgoki and the Sweet and Sour Mix the best, they're a must try.
