He demoed our old grill island area, poured some fresh concrete to expand our footprint and built a new pergola / bbq area in its place that is just amazing with a concrete bar. He also installed some artificial grass around the pool, a small wooden fence barrier, and replaced another pergola that was rotting out. He hooked up lights in the pergolas , an outdoor electrical ceiling heater, gas grill, and repainted our entire concrete patio. He even dug out and replaced our landscape drainage pipes that were full of debris for no surprises in the future. He and his team can seem to do it all as a general outdoor contractor. One year later, we are still very happy with his work. This was the first time I ever dealt with him so he owed me nothing yet he treated me like we were the most important people. He did our repairs over a weekend to be ready for reinspection. During the huge rains we had in Oceanside we developed a leak in our second floor bathroom in the area below a window. Various companies I called were not interested in trying to figure out the source of the problem and just blamed the windows. When I called Joseph however it was a different story. He is extremely detail oriented and took the time to investigate the potential causes. He determined it was from cracked stucco near the window, but not the window itself. Which made perfect sense with the location and behavior of the leak. He meticulously started opening up the stucco to see the extent of the damage. He found the paper under the stucco had deteriorated pretty severely on that wall due to the extreme sun exposure over the years. He continued to open it up until he was comfortable that he had exposed all the issues. After replacing all the damaged areas, stuccoing the entire wall and repainting, you couldn't even tell the whole side had been opened up. He even took the time to examine all the windows above the area of the leak for any damage, and thoroughly cleaned them and even resealed them. We also had Joseph remove a statue from an alcove and re stucco the area. And again, his work was impeccable. Paint matching was perfect. He took pictures of everything as he worked, he explained all of the things he was doing and why he was doing them. His pricing was very fair and communication was very good. On a personal note, he was a pleasure to work with. I appreciate his attention to detail, and his quality work. But he was also just a kind and friendly person to talk with. He would even offer to pick up food or supplies for us if we needed anything when he was on his way or getting supplies. I highly recommend Joseph in all regards.

He showed up as promised and gave me a written quote an hour or so later. He came with a workman, Nazario, in a couple days who did the patches - expertly and even redid one that I hadn't noticed where the A/C company (a big name that I won't mention) did a bad job on. Benjamin then came two days later with a second workman, Santiago, who did the fogging on the patches. Benjamin was here in person for both days both at the beginning and at the end of the job. He is a good communicator. He said that no job is too small which is good to hear because we all have small fixes that need doing. He started as a handyman and now has his contractor's license, so he can do about anything. Both Santiago and Nazario did near perfect work as far as I can tell. I am more than pleased with their expertise, promptness, fair price, dependability, and communication skills.

He was only competitive with pricing on the countertops and paint. So I told him I would hire him for those and he started waffling because I guess he wanted the full job. I told him I never promised the entire job to one company and that I would rather break the jobs up at that point. He told me his pricing was contingent on doing the entire job and that he would get back to me on the numbers for the reduced job. I said fine. He never did get back to me even though I reached out to him 2x after that. Not professional at all. Might have been a blessing in disguise because he took over a week to get the quote to me and appeared complacent and lazy. Could have been a warning sign.
