I got word that my hard to find tequila was in stock! I was tempted to drive late at night before closing to pick up a bottle. Instead, I came here super early before the stock runs out and not have to wait 6 months to get a bottle of my favorite stuff. This liquor shop located in north Pasadena just before Altadena has a great selection of quality spirits. Easy parking. Went over for a rum tasting and had a nice time. they set up a back area with 4 different rum producers and lots to try, all of which were quite nice. The owner, there were goodies from Porto's bakery, which are always awesome. I figured since I was there I would look around, cute shop with a lot of unique and hard to find liquors. The owner, Mike, was super helpful in discussing various high end tequila's with me, he is very knowledgeable and fun to talk with. I ended up buying a really nice bottle for myself. I have been in Pasadena many years and did not know of this place, I had previously been a customer of Mission Liquor who have poor customer service. Total Wine has a huge selection, but not a lot of unique items. So glad I found Showcase! read more

Just your average run of the Mill liquor spot. Don't expect to get anything worth quality. Asked for a quality wine which they don't have or a decent liquor which they don't have. This time I went in and asked for a quality or decent tequila. They didn't have dragonas, they didn't have casa amigos.... they didn't have patron....etc. Don't expect much from this place. Don't waste your time or money at this store. I placed an order online with a pickup time scheduled an hour later. The confirmation said to call ahead to make sure it's available though. When I called, the person that answered had no idea if there was a bottle available and didn't have access to the web system to check my order or the inventory. Not ideal, but they told me they'd call me back once the owner arrived shortly. An hour later, after they were already supposed to have my order ready for pickup, I still hadn't heard anything. I called again and got the same message: the person working there doesn't know anything and the owner is MIA. At the end of the call he says he'll call me back shortly since the owner is walking in the door. Okay....fine. 3 hours later and I still haven't heard anything. I call in to inquire and they hang up on me. I call back and apparently talk to the owner. He has no idea where the bottle is so he'll "keep looking." No thanks, I just cancelled and went to a real business that knows how to manage it's inventory and provide real customer support. Their website might list bottles that are harder to find elsewhere. but that's only useful if they actually have them or know where they are. read more

I neveeeer go to any other liquor store, this is MY store! When i walk in they already know what I'm there for, some grabba leaf and something good to drink! They always have the best selection of alcohol from the most expensive and exotic to your basic malt liquor. I love when they show me all of their new fancy bottles because they know i like my alcohol to be top tier! The guys are all so nice, they are literally my homies!!! Mike, the owner is my friend, he has been a friend since the day he took ownership of the store. He treats me and my dad like family! I truly love everyone who works here. My friend and I went in on Christmas around 11pm. Anyway, one of the older Asian men (I'm assuming the owner) and my friend engaged in small talk and then he proceeded to look at me and say "she looks like she has no panties on" and chuckles. My jaw dropped. WTHECK. Excuse me!!?? I asked him what he said and he actually repeated it. I should've slapped him, but luckily for him my friend talked me out of it. Showcase has demonstrated a highly reputable change in the last year. In the middle of a pandemic, Showcase has remained opened and provided friendly customer service which keeps its business thriving. When I first saw this place it was an old fashioned corner liquor store, but it is now changed to a complete new look and atmosphere to give it a high end wine-and-spirits-store-look. Aside from the building remodeling and the construction going on, Showcase has managed to keep serving and providing a variety of wine, spirits, and beers. To my luck I have seen some cool brands here and premium craft beers that I can only find at expensive stores like Vebmo or Total Wine. But Showcase has then for a lower cost. Some of these brands include: Artisenal Brew Works, Chavez Ravine, Santa Monica Brew Works, MK SD Freddie Murkury, and Out of Buns Brewing Company. These are all craft beers with a variety of flavors or crafting styles. Like the Artisenal Brew Works has a four different WarHead flavors that will remind you of your childhood snacks. I highly recommend Showcase if you are someone who likes to try new styles of beer... not to mention, they have a large selection of tequila, as well! I live nearby so I have been coming to this liquor store for a couple of years. Recently it has come under new management and I'm so happy. Lots of changes, including renovations and new products. My favorite part about the update, though, is Joseph. He's a really sweet, friendly face who works as the cashier. He always takes tine to chat with me and is extremely knowledgeable about all of the products sold at Showcase. He often makes recommendations and I love it - the suggestions are solid. Never get greeted or thanked for my business here. Also they post one price but charge you more at register. They advertised a small Seagrams 100 proof for 99 cents tax included, which I took a picture of. They charged me $1.10 and then come to find out the bottle is only 80 proof. All no big deal but with the mildewy attitude I decided to request a refund. They tried to tell me I was wrong until I told them that I took a picture and then they told me they will only refund me this one time and next week the prices go up. Told them no thanks, I wont be coming back to this one. Also they were a bit funky acting whenever I ask for receipts. Seriously, you wont get one red cent from me anymore. read more

Today i went to this store to get my beer and Swisher Sweets cigar. I had a 20 dollar that had some pink or red color it was from a friend that gave it to me i was somewhat worried if it was real. I asked the young man at the register to check it frist before buying my items he run it in the machine it seem ok he said he wanted to asked the manger to make sure ( this i understood) the manger said it was good. Don't be scared off by the run down look or the huge selection of wigs when you walk in. This place has a great selection of beers, everything from Colt 45 to Lagunitas. A full case of all the best Mexican beers, nice selection of craft beers in 6 packs and 22oz. bombers, and ciders, etc. Best thing is the amazing selection of mixers...pretty much everything you could want is cold and available. Ginger beer, ginger ale, juices, tonic, and much much more. Need limes? Yep, they've got that in the cooler too. Nice selection of liquor behind the cash register counter.
