I boycotted this local convenience store a little over a year ago (it's literally right around the corner from where I've lived for over 7 years) and have vowed never to step foot in the place again, and won't--not even out of desperation. You see, after several years of frequenting this spot prior, I simply got fed up with their lack of friendliness, their lack of social grace and or any other signs of appreciation for the regular business they were getting. Surly doesn't even come close to describing the overall demeanor of this family run establishment... No, I wasn't expecting any one there to "kiss the ring" but a "hello, how are you" or "nice to see you again" or at the very least, a basic "thank you" are and forever will be non-existent at ONES.
And to top it off, the place is a relatively dank, dirty hole, however by comparison it is slightly cleaner then husband and wife owners who plainly have either never heard of soap or simply choose not to use any. We're talking body odor that is almost in league with the indigent.
I could go on but I think what I've had to say is sufficient enough. Being that they offer a convenience I'm sure that's what keeps their doors open but from what I've seen, outside of paying the bills they're NOT doing barnstormer business which really isn't any big surprise--with an ill adjusted attitude such as theirs they're just getting by on vinegar (ain't no honey here, accept the overpriced plastic bear brand on the shelf). A little soap and polish with a smile or two would definitely go a long way but obviously they enjoy the mire in which they wallow in and have no interest in dialing it up.
If you must, by all means, just be sure to bring your clothespin and don't expect any niceties.
If Yelp would allow it I give this place and its operators NO STARS read more
