Came here after dinner and it's such a cute vibe. It was kinda early so there was plenty of seating, but not sure what it's like later in the night. The drinks were so so, but it's a nice place to hang out.

The resident has great music and amazing bartenders, Stefanie pours like I do and her drinks are not only good but strong just like her.

one of my favorite places to grab a drink and just hang out, the vibes are pretty chill, but there's usually a dj playing music, service the girls at the bar are usually pretty attentive and cool def recommend stopping by

Really fun spot to grab a drink in the downtown LA area. I've been here a few times. At least once during the day to meet up with someone for a drink, and at least once during the night when they actually had a small show here with a musician that I was following (Porcelain Raft). The bartenders here are pretty efficient. The cocktails look good and the selection of spirits is solid, but I think I stuck to beers the times I was here. Definitely a great spot for a casual meet up or just to hang out with friends. It's got a pretty big outside area with seating as well as a bar inside.

Came here for my birthday yesterday to celebrate with folks and have drinks. So easy and fun - great Sunday 2-4 happy hour. Service was good and the vibes were great.

Great place if you want overpriced drinks after church on Sunday, not so much if you're trying to have a good time!

We were on the hunt for a bar and we came across this place, and we totally dig it! It's an outdoor spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, and they've got a full bar. It's great for happy hour, but it can get pretty loud.

We were in the mood to do some late night dancing so we found the resident in downtown LA to be quite the fun happening spot... They have a great outdoor area with a couple of airstream trailers as bars and food outlets.. we chose to go on Saturday night because they had an 80s DJ. Unfortunately the DJ kept taking our request but he never played our songs... It's a small dance area. And very narrow. Masks are not required. At this moment.

the rude security guard that wouldn't let my friend in
    Marvin F.

This security guard is outright unfair and fucked up. She gave NO reasoning as to how my friend looked. He just came back from a concert and looked tired, but she assumed he was intoxicated and would not let him in. HE WAS SOBER? And she couldn't back up her allegations to him being intoxicated. He was literally sober and she wouldn't let him in. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE PROFILED! They singled him out and would not let him in.

Just moved to LA and luckily landed here one night with my girlfriend for some late night fun. We love this place, coming for a day time function or night time slide we have a great time. Overall the crowd is always real expressive with their outfits, socially outgoing, and friendly. I like that there are options for an outside and indoor seating/dance floors. Having just moved from atx it's real cool that this place has so much talent coming through for entertainment. It was real nice seeing some artists from Texas make their way out here to put on. I always try to keep a good ear out for the music anywhere I choose to spend demon time at and this place is it. All the times my girlfriend and I have been here we usually find it easy to dance along with the music, make friends, and sip good drinks!

Great outdoor space lots of plants all around. Love the ambiance music can be heard outside as well and there is also an indoor bar. Walking distance of urth cafe. Free Parking on the streets.

There isn't anything I don't love about this place. Staff and service is a 10/10. The bartenders are so friendly and staff comes around to pick up empty glasses and arrange for more seating throughout the night quickly. The drinks are AMAZING. Happy hour ends at 7 pm making beers $6 and cocktails $12. The inside doesn't open until 9 pm but the outdoor bar tending trailer is super cool (seen in photo). The margaritas and palomas are (rightfully) so popular that they are served on tap outside. I was nervous what the alcohol ratio would be like because of this but it was still yummy and gave a great buzz. The ambience is also 10/10 with an outdoor DJ playing chill music, string lights hanging across the patio, and lots of greenery throughout. It feels like a zen den hidden in the busy night life of the arts district. Location is great, given LA's reputation for parking. Right across from Urth Caffe, I never struggle to find parking by the Arts District Co Op. So much to do in this area!

    Ask the Community - Resident

Is this place seriously closed on Friday and Saturday nights?

Open from 12pm-2am Friday & Saturday

What days & times are Happy Hour? What time does the music start?

Who can I call for more information? I left a message but no one has gotten back?

There no need for reservation, its all walk in, everything is walk in but there is a entrance charge for dance floor i think $15-$20 "venue" but not for the food truck or bar.

    Are dogs allowed?

I did not see any dogs on the property you would have to call them and ask they do have a rather nice outdoor patio but the dancing and the DJ are all located on the inside.. Enjoy!

    Do they offer food?

Yes. They have a taco truck that also has some other items.

What time is their happy hour?

Do we have to buy a ticket or can we just sit at the bat?

No need to buy any tickets, the bands that preform there usually start at 9p.m. and you can sit anywhere you can finding seating.

Is there seating in the music venue?

Yes. If you're in a group chances are you are more likely to find a table or if you got there early.

    21+ Only or?

    Yes, always 21+

What type of music is played on Friday nights?

Tonight is Friday and they had a band. First time here so not sure if that's an every Friday thing.

Is there a dancing floor? Cover charge?

Yes, it's sort of an outdoor lounge and an indoor venue... So you kind of get the best of both words where you can chill and chop it up, grab food from the food trucks, or smoke all outside which is literally my favorite part. Then you can also… Read more

First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. How about instead of accepting $$$ for a private event that will deny customers their reservation, they make the private event work around what is available? A group of my friends and I have come here three different times, really wanting to like this place because the atmosphere is beautiful and lively. Unfortunately, each visit has been consistently disappointing due to the same bartender--a shorter male with visible tattoos and facial hair, who seems to regularly work one side of the bar. On all three occasions, we experienced being ignored while trying to order, even as other guests who arrived after us were served first. The first time, we were eventually told "you guys can wait" in a rude tone of voice while he continued taking other orders. The second time, we were never helped at all and had to move to another part of the bar, where a female bartender provided much better service. The third visit was the most concerning. When we tried to get his attention, he responded in a dismissive and rude tone, and as he walked away, we overheard him make an inappropriate comment about us under his breath calling us out of our name and we felt very disrespected so much so that we just left. We completely understand that weekends can get busy, but consistently dismissive and disrespectful service--especially across multiple visits--is not acceptable and we've also seen him be rude to other guests as well. Aside from this issue, the venue itself is great, which is why we gave it multiple chances. I really hope management can address this, as it impacts the overall appearance and experience of the establishment. Thank you.

Can't walk out without trying this. 3. Beef short ribs: good but nothing unique in its flavoring . Chilled Acorn Noodles: chewy cOLD noodles made with acorn (just like the acorn jelly side dish we eat). The noodles are seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu-jang (Gochujang paste), crispy cucumber slices, loads of dried seaweed flakes, and perilla oil. And you just mix them all together. Sooo good and paired well with the short ribs. Incredible. 5. Bluefin tuna and trout Bibimbop: like a poke bowl but so much better. Rice at the bottom with loads of lettuce strips, bluefin tuna sashimi, radish slices, and cavier. Seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu jang (Gochujang paste with a twist of vinegar). Very good as well. For drinks we tried the shikhye slush (shikhye is a Korean sweet rice drink dessert). They used a slushy shikhye base with warm cinnamon and ginger spices and pisco for a kick. The interior never changes... dark... illuminated by candlelight... the bust of Shakespeare over the fireplace, the shelves of old books-- all of it remains intact. But this latest Library Bar seems to have finally dialed in what was always sorely missing in that it showcases a conscientious staff that all seem to know how to mix drinks while treating the customer well by leaving them be. On one night my date and I share a "Black Manhattan," basically a Manhattan with the generous addition of Averna, and it's terrific. On another night, I go for Happy Hour and a few pints of Guinness on draft that are surprisingly proper and go well with their excellent and, I'm told, homemade Hummus & Veggies Plate. The music at this current Library Bar is pretty much on point and is never so loud as to interfere with the conversations that patrons seem to come here for... something you should come here for too, and maybe at Happy Hour specifically if you're looking for a nice bump in your day and to spend an hour, well, happily.

It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it
