Bummer to read the most recent reviews, but pleased that our experience was the complete opposite. We went on Thursday night for live music and Randy was great. We sat at the bar; The staff was super kind (the bartender was friendly and very accommodating, a server in the area even looked up the hours of breakfast for us at the sister restaurant down the road without asking). We didn't have much for food - but the raspberry vinaigrette for the salad and the truffle fries were so good. We have no complaints.

I wish I had taken pictures of the food, especially the apple pie for dessert! The Wildcat Tavern has a great porch area that is used for moderate sized groups, giving them privacy from the rest of the cozy restaurant while also protecting those regular diners from rowdy groups. Keep up the great work and thank you!

If you want a place with a warm ambiance and live music, and don't care much about the food quality…read moreor execution, this is a perfect spot for mediocre albeit expensive tavern food. What went wrong? French fries delivered aside one of the two sandwich dishes was luke warm and nearly cold. Fries on the second sandwich dish were regular potatoes but we ordered sweet potato fries. Took 15-20 minutes to fix. Only 1 TV working on NFL playoff football weekend, and this TV was out of view of our table. Another TV located elsewhere was said to be non-operational due to a satellite dish having reception problems related to a couple of inches of "snow." The salmon add-on to the salad was overcooked and dry. So an overcooked salmon salad totaled $32, which are NYC prices for mediocre NH food. Service was very slow. It was a busy Saturday, so we didn't expect speed. What went right? Enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts appetizer. Loved a Czech beer on tap. Wildcat has a very decent tap menu. The overall ambience of the tavern-restaurant was excellent, and we especially appreciated the live music, which featured a guitarist playing 70's - 90's classic rock standards.

Walked in 15 mins later with my girlfriend, we were warmly welcomed by Jo Jo who could not be any nicer, she did indeed seat as right away but she gave us a quick overview of the menu, made recommendations & then led us to a nice table in the dining room. we started off with excellent drinks ( my painkiller was mad exactly how I liked them making me feel like I was back in Yost Van Dyke in Virgin Islands, we got the fried calamari ( as Jo Jo recommended which was excellent)! We had no room for dessert but both were so satisfied. Jo Jo waved good bye & we vowed to return again next time we were in the area. Thanks Jo Jo & all @ Tuckerman's for a great dinner !

The service and food were fantastic. I had an Irish coffee with Bailey's and it was so good I had to have another. For my meal, I did the Irish sampler; 3 bowls consisting of Shepard's pie, beef stew, and pot pie. All were amazing but my favorites were the beef stew then the Shepard's pie. We booked the "red room" for a party of 10 patrons which we scheduled far in advance. The people that were in the room before us ran over on their time, so we had to wait about 18 minutes after our reservation. The room is pretty cramped due to the length of the table, but it was cute and cozy. The max amount of people is 12 in this room. I had the taste of Ireland, which gives you three dishes in sample size: shepherds pie, beef stew & chicken pot pie. For $19.00 (kind of steep) it was okay. You can tell that there's a lot of pride, and it has a "just like mama used to make" method of cooking. Seems like they take a lot of pride in all of their dishes. It seems that everybody truly enjoyed their dishes, even the ones that had salad. Again, it was really nice that we were able to have our very own room. I would certainly come back and have the corned beef and cabbage meal; that's what my mother had and she said it was great. The only negative thing I would say is that our waitress seemed like she was a bit annoyed, having to wait on a large group and we needed to split our checks. Other than that I felt that our service was sufficient.

The food was overall good. We started with the Thai salad. It was enormous and comes with pepper, sunflower seeds, cranberry, sunflower seed dried, almonds, and more. This salad was so good that we got it to go the next day! For entrees we got the Texas Tornado sandwich (boneless chicken breast with bacon) and the Surf and Turf Burger. The chicken wasn't dry and the sweet potato fries ($2 upcharge) were good. For the surf and turf, I didn't feel like the lobster blended well with the burger so I took it off and ate it separately. The French fries were finger licking good! Our waitress was really nice and friendly and make some good conversation and recommendations. The wait time for our entrees was a little slow.
