He even specifically mentioned that he didn't like wedding parties. Such a shame! We rolled in with at least 50 people and that would have been a money making evening if he just held a few conversations, or smiled at the bride and groom, or was a decent human. However, he was less than kind and quiet frankly was rude! He was bold with his lack of concern and care of guests. You never know who you are serving in the crowd. I had a great experience dining at Shot and Bottle. I am vegetarian and the food did not disappoint at all. Between the flatbreads, fries and burger, vegans and vegetarians have ample options to choose from. Our server was extremely friendly and courteous. He was able to get me a Hot Toddy given the cold weather and rains even though it wasn't on the menu. The Rosemary Fizz was my favorite cocktail. Amazing ambience and vibes. I really want to like this place. Its got good vibes, very nice staff and its a great location. Unfortunately the food and signature cocktails just aren't very good. The flavors on all fronts are about as subtle as a three ring circus. Everything is over sweetened, over seasoned and over sauced. I took a 3-year hiatus from this place but decided to try it out again. I gave it a serious chance and went three times recently, and each time i was disappointed. I never send drinks back, but two of my three visits i had to ask for something else to drink because the signature cocktails were undrinkably sweet and syrupy... something i would expect from a tgi fridays, but not a downtown establishment charging $12-$14 for cocktails that sound semi sophisticated on the menu. I want this place to succeed, because its such a nice space and its got good people, but they need someone to do some serious work on their menu. read more

We popped into Shot and Bottle during a girls day in Lancaster as it was recommended to us as a great lunch place! When we walked in, we immediately loved the ambiance and were seated right away. Service throughout the entire experience was extremely slow and they were not busy, but everything else was excellent. I had the bruschetta Caesar salad with chicken and I really loved the unique flavors. My mom has the Ian Club which was so unique and by far the best thing we ordered! Our friends tried the avocado salad as well as the soup du jour and they really enjoyed both. Liked this place quite a bit but the servers were super unfriendly and it was a little offputting (I think it's a Lancaster thing). Great soup. It was pretty cold when I came to visit and I really loved the tomato soup. I paired it with the Drunken Pig sandwich. The Drunken Pig had a lot going on. The BBQ sauce was a little overwhelming honestly so I thought that could have been lighter. Maybe I got a server who was having an off day but he was not nice. Shot and Bottle dropped from 4/5 stars to 1 star very rapidly when we discovered that we had been charged $12 for a virgin cocktail (same price as the cocktail with alcohol). Our server (who seemed responsible and professional up till this point) stonewalled us and told us that Shot and Bottle "isn't set up for virgin cocktails" and that the $12 charge would stand, which was laughable to both of us given our years of "industry" experience and surprising given that she had practically coached us through ordering a virgin cocktail earlier. We didn't want to ruin our own experience since we'd had a nice meal, liked Lancaster, liked the decor of the establishment, felt that EVERYBODY in the restaurant had been nice to us up till this point, and were wrapping up a wonderful short vacation. So we did leave a 20% + tip. We also don't believe that the server or the establishment was attempting to rip us off (at least we hope so!) but rather felt pressed for time, lacked a framework for resolving what almost anybody in the industry would consider an absurd (albeit likely devoid of bad intent) overcharge, and simply didn't want to deal with the issue. We believe that the server could have worked with us on this absurd and disappointing charge. We want to like people and have faith in them. We didn't feel good when we walked out of Shot and Bottle when a little bit of reasonable flexibility would have left us very happy given the rest of our experience here. read more

Came here for brunch with a small group and loved the experience. We were sat quickly and got a nice seat by the window. They had several different brunch drink options, although I just got a glass of champagne the Bloody Mary looked amazing. We have never been to Lancaster before. Like us, I think you would be pleasantly surprised. We found this place which looked a little trendy, but the reviews were good and the menu sounded great. We really liked the food. Worth the stop! We had the slow cooked chicken and the short ribs. Both were very good. We were glad to see there were a few options for our kids; Mac-n-cheese, grilled cheese and chicken fingers. The slow cooked chicken was so tender it fell off the bone. The broth was delicious. The short ribs were also delicious and served with mashed potatoes that were very tasty. The Mac and cheese for the kids strangely had no flavor. Our kids did not seem to mind and the salt helped. Great spot in downtown Lancaster. The beer list is good although I thought there would be more draft options. The cocktail list is nice and has a little something for everyone. The shot/bottle list is extensive. I like that they have a lot of local and Pennsylvania liquors you can try. I had the Lady Finch cocktail and loved the lavender vodka in that. The tea helped tone down the lavender flavor and lemon made it bright. Between the 2 of us, my husband and I tried 4 different draft beers. They had a few nice ipas on draft, a good lager and some stouts. I would have liked to see at least one sour beer on draft, but it was still a pretty good sampling of styles. You can probably get sours in bottles, but I didn't look at the bottled beer menu. We had the Dutch fritters for our appetizer and were impressed. The flavors all work nicely together. The cucumber aioli was something I wouldn't have thought to pair with beef & sausage, but it was delicious. My hubby got the chicken salad sandwich and that was as close to the perfect basic chicken salad as you can get. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and it was good. It was breaded chicken tenders, which were pretty bland. The bacon and ranch both helped punch up the flavor. Service was good, prices (for lunch menu) were reasonable. The restrooms are down a flight of stairs, so if you have mobility issues, that's something to be aware of. Overall, decent place to stop for food & adult beverages. read more

After visiting Central Market, my boyfriend and I noticed this place. We walked in and the staff was super friendly, holding doors open, greetings from everyone. I got the Avocado Toast with fried egg and holandaise. It was AMAZING! I'm so sick of the normal boring avocado toast, and this was amped up a bit. So rich. I'm usually hesitant about getting anything creamy because I usually find the cream too rich, but the creaminess in the risotto was a perfect consistency and didn't feel too heavy at all. The chicken was also perfectly cooked and not dry! Overall very delicious! My brother ordered the Whiskey Braised Short Ribs...I sadly didn't try any but my brother's plate was completely clean when he was done so I think it's safe to say he enjoyed it! Was staying at the Marriott across the street. We ran in here for dinner because it started pouring rain. I opened the door and screamed from the sidewalk, "do you have a kids menu?!" A nice guy with a big smile said, of course, come on in!" He ended up being our fabulous waiter. He thought to put my 2 year old's order in first (money!), and when it came out I was shocked at how huge the platter of chicken fingers was. I got the risotto and he recommended that I add shrimp. He was right! It was excellent and the rice was cooked perfectly. Hubs got the smoked salmon BLT. Tons of bacon! Fantastic place! We decided to give it and go and I'm glad we did. They're drink menu is interesting and the food menu is a very smart combination of local foods and ingredients. We tried a. Couple different drinks and they were outstanding. Staff was friendly and accommodating as well as knowledgeable about the drinks. The food was absolutely amazing! The charcuterie board was balanced and delightful with two hams, two cheeses, salami and a mix of a few Lancaster County sides. The only downside that I took a star off for is the noise. The acoustics are pretty bad, probably due to the lack of any decorations on the wall. I'd say pick a quiet space with your friends and enjoy adding to the environment. read more

The drink straws made out of actual straw and the glass bottles of ketchup didn't go unnoticed by me either. The space is beautiful and modern and the service is attentive and friendly. The food and drink were very good but it seems like they all need a lesson in customer service. This is a fairly new place so we will try again. The bartender was nice and friendly, but not very attentive. I believe the owner opened the doors at 11 AM...a handful of people were waiting outside, and rather than greeting us, she showed her staff how to unlock the doors. That would be okay, but a simple "welcome to Shot and Bottle" would have sufficed. She said nothing. - The food was delicious: Dutch fritters, smoked salmon BLT, and the fingerling potato salad with chicken. The drinks were also tasty and unique. - The bathroom was confusing. Stopped at 1st door downstairs b/c it seemed to be a sign for a unisex bath and I saw a man go in ahead of me; you have to go through that door to separate entry bathroom doors.
