This little hole in the wall was filled with customers and they were all eating some good looking food. Ordered a veggie breakfast burrito (added spinach) to go. Waited about 15 minutes and hurried home to tear into it. This thing was huge. A total beast. Cut it in half and it looked packed. The little salsa didnt look appealing but was really good. After coming home from vacation, I wanted a good breakfast, diner style, nothing fancy, just a homestyle meal and I found it here at Shorty'z. With probably about 8 people ahead of me, around 10/11am on a Sunday morning, I knew I was in the right spot. So the first thing I noticed was how on point, organized and efficient the restaurant was running. Maybe because part of my career is to perform that way, I couldn't help but notice how seamless it was. I was impressed! Then on to the menu...Thank goodness I wasn't hangry because I definitely would have ordered way too much food from 3 different areas of the menu. I decided on the 2+2, which has everything you need for a complete and hearty breakfast. Eggs, hash browns, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and toast. It was perfect. And the portion was perfect as well. I had just a tiny bit of hash browns left over, I was too full to finish. $7-$8 The kicker, I was so excited to eat all of this delicious food, it never had a chance and I forgot to take a photo! Service is quick and speedy on the bright side. My boyfriend and I were able to nab an empty seat somehow after we ordered at the counter. Our food came out quick as well. We shared two items. Chocolate Chip Pancakes -------------------------- Yummy! You can't go wrong with chocolate chips! They did not skimp any in these pancakes either. The batter of the pancakes is divine and almost cake-like, so it had a great moist texture when syrup was drizzled all over. For $3.99, what a steal! Breakfast Burrito (Bacon) -------------------------- A perfect ratio-ed breakfast burrito. Great amount of eggs, potatoes, and of course, bacon. The only comment here would be that the salsa given with this order was quite watery, but it still tasted fine overall. It was surprisingly filling as well. Found this place on yelp and remembered some friends talk about it. DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Food is exceptional. Had a breakfast burrito and a chicken club sandwich. Staff is above and beyond. Recommended sour dough bread for the club. One of the best versions of this sandwich I've had. Fresh ingredients are very obvious with all the delicious flavors. Staff consistently goes around and talks to tables and checks in. Love that it wasn't just one person but everyone behind the counter. Great family vibes. Super solid spot to score breakfast in Fullerton! I'm not well versed in this area, but I'm well versed in breakfast! Did a Yelp search for a breakfast spot near Brea before visiting a World War II veteran, and Shorty'z showed up! Glad we stopped in for sure! Right when we walked in, I could tell this was a very popular local breakfast stop. Being right in the middle of the week, the place wasn't that busy, but you can tell that there were a bunch of regulars who eat here often. The menu is expansive! I was ready to try so much, but I ended up going for their breakfast special, which was two pancakes, three eggs to order, 2 sausage and 2 bacon. I ended up getting 4 pieces of bacon instead of the sausage. My buddy got the same thing. I got a cup of coffee and my buddy got a fountain drink. Our tab was under $11! The staff was very friendly and they kept my coffee topped up! Was it the most amazing breakfast I have ever had? No, but I was very happy about how tasty the pancakes were and how well my eggs were cooked. This is the kind of place I could get used to coming to, if I were local. I really enjoyed the food I would recommend it to anyone. The cashier was very helpful in helping us choose from the popular dishes. And the waitress was great on checking up to make sure everything was great. I got French toast and my girlfriend got an omelette. Plates are very good for the price and tasted great!! Only one problem... the chefs. I was really angry that while ordering they would stare at my girlfriend and make comments amongst themselves. So 3 stars for the lack of attention by the chefs. The food was really good, but it was a trip getting to the correctly ordered meal. I came in here and placed a to go order after getting back from a business trip, for lunch. I saw some good reviews and we've been trying to find other food spots near our apartment. I stopped in here and placed my order. I ordered a burger with just bacon, meat, ketchup, and bun. I got a side of fries, and the club sandwich and fried zucchini for Hayley. I waited about 10 minutes and saw her packing up our food, so I walked over and waited at the counter. I saw my burger come up, and it had EVERYTHING on it. I politely told them that it was wrong and gave them the correct order. The next burger comes out a few minutes later, and it has cheese on it, which I specifically said I didn't want. Next burger comes out - no bacon... really guys? FINALLY, the 4th try comes out, and it looks correct. Took the food home and chowed down. Burger was super juicy, bun was crispy and fries were perfect. Nothing to complain about with food. Hayley enjoyed her zucchini fries, but said her sandwich was nothing special. They also offer sugar-free Syrup - which is always a plus for this watching their carb intake or just wanting to eat a little less sugar. I'm disabled and had my daughter sit at a table close by where you order and the old lady at the register walked away from the people ordering in front of us to move my daughter. Didnt even let her explain why. Then when some lady sat at the same table she didnt do a thing. Talk about not caring for the disabled! Good job lady! read more

Lines are LONG on the weekends and worth the wait but they also take phone orders so you can call ahead. About these burritos. Perfect ratio of filling to the tortilla, the tortillas are quality and never stale, the filling is expertly proportioned so there isn't too much or too little egg or potato to go with your choice of meat. Place looks like an old-style diner, which I'm okay with as I'm not into chains like Denny's or IHOP. Service - 4.5 stars. Server and order-taker older lady who looks like she is owner (?) were friendly and welcoming. I made a mistake in ordering 2 vanilla shakes wherein 1 should have been strawberry. I felt bad going back to counter to ask for an exchange. She said she'd have to throw that one out, and since I don't like wasting food, she then offered to just give me a scoop of strawberry ice cream. Wait time - maybe about 15 minutes. Can't fault them for the wait since place was full and consistently busy the full hour we were there. Food - 3. Had a kids meal with French toast, bacon, sausage and egg. Quite frankly, it was all typical and something I could all do at home. I did enjoy the bacon though. Friend had a burger and she said that was like something from the frozen aisle. Value - 4. Stood there in the front for over 20 minutes waiting for the food when one of the women who was walking around with 2 plates of food comes up to me and asks if my order was to go. I said yes and she shoves everything in a Togo bag and I take it home. When I arrive home everything is soggy and cold. (Probably from being wafted around the entire building for 5 minutes). And of course no ranch. So I go back and try and explain to her the situation and she tells me that I need to go back home and get the food. So I go all the way back home and say forget it, I will just not come back. My wife calls the manager to tell him what we've experienced and he basically doesn't care. I eat here once a week. This is my "Cheers" (but without the beer). Let me break it down for you... Service: 1 million stars! They really make you feel at home and welcomed here. Even though you order at the counter, you're pretty much catered to 100%. Coffee is consistently being refilled by the amazing staff (Jackie is THE BEST!), and they even remember me by my order. Food: Great! Classic American breakfast/lunch joint. In full disclosure, I love the French Toast and Sausage breakfast burrito so much, I've never ordered from the lunch menu. Even though I've moved further, I still make a habit of it to go there at least twice a week. They have the best breakfast burritos.
