My pinky is bigger than the chili they serve at Shortys Grill

This has happened a lot more than once. I've given this place a lot of chances, I really tried to like it. No customer should have to ask for extra chili to get a regular amount of chili put on a hotdog. Every single time, my pinky is bigger than the chili they put on my hotdogs unless I ask them to put extra. You don't have to be blind to see that's barely chili for anyone. They put chili on like it's a suggestion. If a restaurant sees something like skimping as not a problem, they likely have a lot more problems they're hiding from customers. Besides members of staff fussing and belittling other member of staff out where all customers can see. This place is just trying hard to be Fowlers with subar flavor and no common sense. It takes the L in L-Town. Will never be returning, all of my money will go to the OG, Fowlers Grill.

Bacon db cheeseburger YUMMY!!
Paulette D.

Cheeseburger with "fresh cut" fries but they are called "home fries" here. Confused me but they are AWESOME!! Hamburg patties are HOMEMADE!!! They do NOT serve those frozen junk patties here!!!! Hubby got the bacon db cheeseburger. He says it was *%#! YUMMY!! Unsweetened iced tea is PERFECT. PRICES ARE AMAZING! STAFF ROCKS! They work so hard to make everything just right and fast! Great teamwork. Thanks for lunch. We will be back!

Good food fast service. Just wish they'd stay open later. Love the home fries. They're like homemade cut up fried potatoes.

Doesn't look like much. The food is extremely good. There is a reason why all the locals go there. You get a good size plate for the money.

Smoky bathrooms. No soap in men's. Cooks couldn't wash hands. Breakfast was just okay. Not a pleasant experience. We won't be back.

The Grind - BLATT sandwich

This hard to find gem is hidden in a tiny border town of SC off the main drag! I was passing…read morethrough and needed a break from driving and some food. This little shop is super unique and clearly the vision of a young lady that desires to serve the highest quality food from the farm to you!! From the repurposed building to the meal you receive, everything has a reason and a mission. I tried the BLATT sandwich and a piece of apple pie. Firstly, the bread was warm, crispy on the outside but not tougher than an old farm boot. Then the turkey was thinly sliced and heated to perfection! Avocado was ripe and fresh. The next two items were clearly off the farm, the lettuce and tomatoes. I've not experienced a greenery or slice of red ripe tomatoes on a sandwich or in any other capacity in a fine restaurant the beats these. Period. The closer, the Apple pie, was warmed and covered in homemade whipped cream. Not only were the apples soft and packed with flavor, the light flaky pie crust was a treat in and of itself. would recommend making the detour if in SC to visit this place. The 5-star rating is absolutely earned.

The Grind is exactly what every small town needs. It is a small, friendly coffee shop that also…read moreserves lunch items. My husband got a cappuccino and I got chai latte. My husband enjoyed the cappuccino. The chai had too much nutmeg for my taste, but was good. It reminded me of pumpkin pie. If you're in the area, it's a nice place to grab a coffee/tea.

I always enjoyed Hardee's especially the breakfast. We have Carl's Jr in Las Vegas , NV where I live now since 1991 , but they don't have all the same menu items as Hardee's. I always see bad reviews for Hardee's , but I've only had one bad one years ago somewhere near Greenville if I remember right. We actually threw our food away. Not this place though. I got the Chicken Fried Steak Biscuit and a Country Ham and Egg Biscuit and they were perfect ! The biscuits were fluffy and golden which is the way they should be and Hardee's are made from scratch unlike other fast food places. The country ham was a large piece and the egg was big and of course they were delicious. The chicken fried steak was fresh and not greasy and hot. The service was quick. The lady that took my order was nice , I believe she was a manager or supervisor since she was letting the others know it was time to do cleanup and such. The dining area was clean and it looks to be updated somewhat compared to many I've been to in the past. Our Hardee's in Bennettsville closed years ago and the last time I was home about 3 years ago I went to the one in Cheraw. This one seemed cleaner and nicer than that one. I miss the old chicken sandwich that Hardee's used to make which had more of a peppery coating and tasted better than the new hand breaded one they serve now. Also when I went to the one in Cheraw I tried the Roast Beef Sandwich and it was not good like it used to be and smaller. It used to be better than Arby's back in the 80's. I wish I would've tried the fried chicken when they had it years ago.
