Went here on Thursday August 13th 2026 with my mom, aunt and a friend for Happy hour. Decided to eat some grub after my shift there, and if you see me say hi! Happy hour here is from 4-7 every day, and there is special pricing for drinks and food options. They have changed the Happy Hour menu around, but still have favorites like the 1/2 tavern nachos. Aria served us and she was great. we had 4 waters, and 4 tavern punches. For appetizers we had the happy hour nachos, and boneless Asian Chang and Gold wings. For the wings, one can get more than one flavor if one wants, like we did. wings were saucey and tender and enjoyable, as well as the nachos. After our appetizers, I ordered the french dip sandwich with mac and cheese, and my mom ordered the BLT-A with fries. We also ordered boneless BBQ wings to go for my dad. I enjoyed my french dip sandwich with mac and cheese. We then got the check and paid with a credit card and left a cash tip. Will be back for another enjoyable meal! read more

Stopped in for happy hour. What can I say?? Here in Myrtle Beach for my Dad's unexpected passing and ordering what I was told were phenomenal Pizzas. It's happy hour and we really needed some happy. Mission accomplished! The giant pretzel and beer cheese were probably the best I've ever had! Photos and review of pizzas (take home) to Follow. I need family review input for those. read more

The reviews touted this as Italian and Steak. Pizza was very good, but it was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves talk. We asked them to turn it down a notch, but never happened. This place is basically a bar with good burgers and pizza. Not bad but wasn't what we expected. read more

Service was good, quick to our table about 7PM. The waitress said we had just missed the rush. Overall, it was a nice setting. We sat at a high table with an elevated bench seat. The food was decent, nothing that would make me beg to come back, but not bad either. My espresso martini was yummy! Overall, a 3 for us means we would give it another chance, but we aren't craving to rush back. read more

Tavern in the Forest is a really fun spot! We popped in around 6pm on a Sunday. It was fairly busy, but we had no problem getting a table. They have really good happy hours deals as well especially for appetizers and drinks! Our server was very kind and we had great service throughout the evening. We ordered the buffalo chicken dip to split for our group of three. It was a good portion to split and very tasty! Can't really go wrong with a buffalo chicken dip in my opinion. Then I enjoyed the specialty slice of the day which was a cheeseburger-style pizza with beef, pickle, tomato, and a fun burger sauce. It was just like a burger on a pizza! Plus I love anywhere that served by the slice, so you can mix and match! Overall, great experience for some bar food. read more

The food and the servers are by far the best thing about this restaurant. Drew is a wonderful manager, but if you're looking to work there i would NOT recommend. At least not in the kitchen. This is coming from a former employee. The guys running the back of the house(Q&chad) shows favoritism to the employees they knew prior to the job or knew personally before the job and the ones they're related too. I worked in several restaurants and my mother was the GM of a few restaurants i won't disclosed but over the years i seen first hand what it takes to run a good restaurant. And before i talk about what happened to me personally im going to speak on a few things that took place in the kitchen me nor DHEC would agree with. 1st and foremost the lack of glove use when its unlimited boxes to use, alot of the staff still chooses to touch the food bare handed. They keep chemicals(cleaning chemicals) right next to food items on the shelves in the walk on cooler. They don't rotate the food when restocking the frozen items. They just throw the new food on top of the old food in the containers. They don't sift their flour AT ALL throughout the day, so the same flour they start out with 10-11 in the morning is the exact same flour they're using up until the kitchen is closed 9-10 at night. But as an employee knowing none of this was right i would go the extra mile and fix all this stuff even though it wasn't anything no one was forced to do. And back to why i don't recommend working there, well at least in the kitchen is because if youre not part of there "friend and family group" or whatever they throw you under the bus to save there on asses. I asked the kitchen manager(Q) for a Saturday off a week in advanced and he said ok. (Co workers can vouch for me) . And i also asked in that same breath since im usually off on thursdays and fridays could i work thursday and have somebody work for me saturday so i wouldn't miss 3 days that week and the kitchen manager(Q) told me remind him the next day. Which was odd to me but i did. Next day come and i remind him and he tell me to remind him again. And repeated this "remind me shenenigan" everyday until wednesday. And Wednesday he decides to tell me ask Chad about it because it was his shift. Mind you this could've been said since Sunday when I first brought it to his attention. And on another note, this was my very first time even asking for a day off that I was never told No I couldn't have off. Not one time did Q or Chad tell me I couldn't have the day off. Back to that Wednesday Chad said he couldn't find anybody for me to work for Thursday and left it at that. I double down and told him I still wouldn't be able to make it Saturday and he never said consequences would come behind me not coming in. So Saturday I didn't come to work, and mind you I was out of work a couple weeks before that due to me being in the hospital and they had everybody in the kitchen calling me asking where I was at but for some odd reason the Saturday I didn't come in I didn't receive any phone calls from anyone because obviously they knew I couldn't make it. Sunday gets here and I receive a text saying I was a no call no show and if I didn't have a dr. note I would be terminated. Me and Q went back and forth, with me telling him how was I a no call no show when him and Chad knew I wasn't coming? And that's when he chose to mention I was supposed to find somebody to cover my shift. Knowing that was the first time I ever requested off why wasn't I told that from the beginning or at least told I couldn't take the day off? Q text me saying he didn't know I didn't show up because he wasn't there and didn't find out until the morning, not knowing I knew he was indeed at work that Saturday and knew I wasn't there just as well as he knew I wasn't coming. He put the blame on Drew when I know Drew don't really have anything to do with the back of the house(like I said wonderful guy, runs his restaurant very well) . And other kitchen staff who witnessed me have these conversations with both these men couldn't understand why I was treated the way I was when they all clearly seen me talk to them about having this one day off. Fast forward to me still talking to some of the workers there, I've been told similar things if not worse happened with employees Q hired that worked previous jobs with him and he know personally and they haven't gotten suspended and very well still have there jobs there. And to put the icing on the cake I wasn't there for 2 maybe 3 weeks before I was already training new employees and working sections of the line BY MYSELF and it was no problem when I had to be on the line by myself, but the day I took off had extra staff which left somebody to attend each position on the line so my absence didn't leave the workplace unattended in anyway but just because I'm not a friend or family member of Q or Chad I got the poop end of the stick and lost my job. An unprovoked suspension which led to my read more

We visit often. We live in Murrells Inlet, our granddaughter & son live in Carolina Forest. Today service was not up to par. Our server, Heather was not attentive at all. After bringing drinks we waited almost 10 minutes fir her return to take our order. Food runners brought our food. I had to ask the hostess for silverware after an appetizer was served. When our food came we had to ask fir condiments. This whole time Heather was no where to be seen. She didn't check to see if everything was ok. So disappointed, we've always had an excellent experience. We will be back but make sure we don't get Heather. Could this be an issue of training? We do love this restaurant. read more

We recently moved here and was excited to try something close to home. The food was good. We got that 1/2 order of pulled pork nachos. They were great and the portion was huge. Overall the portions were large. The down side was the service. Our waitress was essentially nonexistent. We never got any drink refills. She put the food down and was gone before we could even ask for ketchup. We finally had to track down another waitress to even get our bill. read more

This place is great if you don't mind your feet sticking to the floor and the bathrooms left absolutely filthy from the Friday night crowd. Who doesn't clean their bathrooms everyday/night ! Sooooo gross. The waitress was good and the food wasn't bad but all the dirt made me worry about how clean the kitchen was. With so many other places to choose from we won't be back read more

This was our first time trying out Tavern in the Forest, and it was a great experience! The nachos and Margherita pizza were delicious with great portion sizes. I'm a regular there and was there on a Saturday night around 11:30. It took an hour for me to get my food and when it came out after me expressing that it was late out and that several people that order after me got their food. I order 2 slices of pizza. Cheese and Pepperoni with bacon. It should not take an hour for both of them slices to come out. I brought it to the attention of your bar staff and they said they would check on it. One your bartenders/managers came out later and forcefully threw the plates of pizza out to me when I asked for it to be to go. I brought it to her attention of how rude it was and she said I can leave. There was people beside me that ordered before me and got their food. No reason for someone to be treat me like that when I'm a local and everybody knows me there. I was told that the pizza would be refunded but no proof and I paid for it an hour before. No refund receipts or nothing just verbal confirmation. The lady was terrible. The rudeness of your works is unacceptable because of their faults. I cannot fathom the way I was treated tonight after being a regular which was sad. read more

MUST STOP restaurant for locals and travelers alike. Very spacious location and an absolute treat to discover. Went here for the first time with coworkers for some drinks. Firstly the happy hour menu SLAPS portions are very generous. Ordered $5 fries pickles and had enough for the entire table of 4. The drinks were incredibly, incredibly well made! Not skimping but not overpowering. Had a Kentucky Mule for the first time and am jonesing for another one! The entire atmosphere was very upbeat and truly felt like a local hangout. Oh, and I can't leave out the staff. Every single staff member met us with a smile and we were very well taken care of as well. While he didn't identify himself as such we did have one guy come around and personally ask us how everything was. I wonder if he was the manager or something. Point is, we weren't overlooked at all. My coworker got what I believe is the Italian Sub and split it with me and it was incredibly delicious! We also got fries each. Plenty for us both it was crazy. All together, for the sub, $4 drinks (two were off Happy Hour menu), the total was $37.... I'd only ever known about this place from Maps and exploring the area around my job. So glad I very randomly ended up going there! read more

Always very loud here...I'm going on a rant now. I consider Tavern a bar that serves food. Not a restaurant. I don't think kids belong in here. Take them to a more kid friendly environment. Now for the food: the Italian Special Pizza was alright. I expected it to be salty but no. Kinda bland. I had to add table salt, pepper and grated cheese. The potato skins were the cutest little things ever! Hit the spot just very small. Definitely not an Idaho potato. read more

Let's jump into it! Don't I always?! The PBJ. Burger, chefs kiss . The spicy peanut butter sauce pairs perfectly with the sweet Asian sauce. And bacon...bacon pairs well with everything! Duck wontons- super interesting dish! Most similar to a empanada. The cream cheese has a stronger flavor profile then the duck (I'm biased, I like the protein filling ratio to outweigh the cream cheese though). The chili sauce is served on the side. Blackberry Whiskey Mule-a unique drink, as I've never had a mule with Chambord. Not too sweet and the black berry add a touch of tart. Highly recommend. Parking- This spot is located with a lot of neighboring spots. It can become congested but there is a decent amount of parking available to patrons. Service- Brittany was my server and bartender. She provided great service! Request her next time you go in! Aesthetics: if your looking for a lax and fun bar scene, this tavern is for you. Check their insta for their specials! read more

Standard bar food. We came in on a Friday with a whopping party of 8. We knew we'd have to wait. We were quoted an hour and a half, but it was closer to 40 minutes. Love when that happens. Huge menu! I went with the chicken tenders but our party ordered something from every category. The only item that was disappointing were the duck wontons. They should be advertised as Rangoon instead. So. Much. Cream. Cheese. Plenty of parking in the complex. Waitress was lovely. read more

We went here for brunch with big expectations. We were disappointed in service and food. The brunch beast biscuit was not a special sausage and cheese biscuit and just tasted old and stale, hard even. The Tavern Nasty biscuit is delicious and the reason they aren't getting 1 or 2 stars. We waited 10 minutes to be greeted by a server while they all talked behind the bat and we almost left. Ordered brunch cocktail specials that didn't come out until right before our meal. The grapefruit salted Paloma was so bad you could not drink it. It was repulsive. When server finally checked on us she took back and did remove from check but was not nice about it at all. Bellini was horrid as well. Hot, no peach flavor at all. Very disappointed read more
