FOOD POISONING ALERT!!!!!! First off, let me start by saying that THIS USED TO BE one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. I used to drive 30-40 min out of the way to come here, and I would even wait up to an hour to be seated for my food. I have no idea what happened to this place, but something needs to change. This place used to be immaculately clean, but when I walked in here with my bf, the place was extremely dirty and had a weird smell to it, almost like dirty rags that haven't been washed and we're used over and over again. I told myself it was probably because they were busy, and to just ignore it. BAD IDEA, as I should of listened to my instinct and walked out. I always get the same thing... the steak and eggs. Normally it's amazing, but today.... it was anything but. A couple of hours after finishing my meal, my stomach started to hurt immensely. I thought nothing of it, and thought it was just a little bit upset from something I ate. I WAS WRONG YET AGAIN... 2 hours later, I'm stuck in bed, hunched over in a ball with severe stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea and just sick to my stomach. Turns out I got food poisoning from contaminated/ not properly handled steak.... This restaurant should be ashamed of themselves. If you know the quality of meat that your serving is bad, don't serve it!!!! FAIR WARNING TO EVERYONE ON YELP: if you go here, do yourself a favor... stay away from any of their meats! Just for the record, I used to tell everyone about this place and how amazing it WAS. I even referred friends and family members to come here. But after getting food poisoning, I absolutely refuse to set forth back in this restaurant ever again. A health inspector really needs to check this place out so no on else has to suffer like I did. Moral of the story: stay far far FAR AWAY from this place! Avoid at all costs. read more

We were visiting from out of state and were looking for a good breakfast place. I found this place on yelp. An unassuming store front location, Short stacks did not disappoint. Bring your appetite for the signature breakfasts. They give you some of everything including your choice of one of their many pancake options. I got the carrot cakes pancakes which were infused with shredded carrots topped with a cream cheese icing drizzle and chopped pecans. If you are a fan of carrot cake for dessert, this selection is for you. Someone else got the cinnamon roll pancakes, also delicious. The signature breakfasts also included a serving of their hash brown casserole, a cheesy shredded potato hash brown dish. Yum. I definitely would visit again - 5 stars. read more

I discovered this pace and have been frequenting every since. The food for breakfast is amazing and fresh cooked (sometimes eggs are weird in other places for instance). The staff is super nice. Hidden gem bottom line. Can't go wrong. read more

Lunch was terrible. I ordered a chili and and half Cobb salad, the chicken was beyond dry, they asked me "if" I wanted dressing....it's a Cobb salad! Who is eating it with zero dressing?! The chili was mainly tomato based and no flavor. I won't be returning for lunch. I do think their omelets and pancakes are fair. read more

We haven't had a bad meal yet! Love the varieties of breakfast dishes. We always take our leftovers for breakfast the next day. The staff is great... friendly and professional. The best part about Short Stack is that it's only 10-15 minutes away from our neighborhood. read more

The worst pancakes EVER! Dry scrambled eggs. Inattentive wait staff-would rather visit with the "regulars" than check in on all of the other customers. Restaurant needs a good deep cleaning. I don't understand why this place is so popular. Just yuck! read more

You would think I would have learned not to go back after the first 3 times of being disappointed. My bad I know. Coffee is good. But, today was my last and finally visit. Service sucks. Hash browns taste & look like mushed up tarter tots. (No joke) And to top it off today, when I started on my egg, I saw a big hair that had been under my egg. Gross. I spit up all that was in my mouth, into a napkin of course-and when our waitress finally came to us,(remember service sucks here) told her. They wanted to make me another, which was nice, But no thanks. I am officially done with this place. We were on vacation back in March and found Short Stacks from the Yelp app. Yelp is my "go to" app and I've never been disappointed. This is a very small place located in a strip mall so I was a little hesitant when we arrived. It was a Saturday and there was a wait but it was short. I had my heart set on the carrot pancakes after reading all of the reviews. Yummmmmmy! Only if I lived closer......my husband had the cinnamon french toast (which I had to taste) and that was delicious also. I would go back if I'm in the area again. It was a tasty breakfast. read more

I have only been here once but it was a horrible experience and I will never go again. My food was not what I ordered, the cheese on my eggs was cold enough for me to pick up with my hand, I order hash browns( pointed to a picture and said "I want those" not the casserole or home fries, still got home fries.) the service was atrocious, only had one small glass of water through the entire visit. And when my server handed me my change she was very rude about it. If I wasn't in a rush to get somewhere, I totally would have asked for my money back. Had hair in my soup and pointed it out to waiter right away. He said what can I do to make it right? I said no longer hungry and he pushed me to get something else after repeatedly saying I didn't want anything. Then I received my bill and was charged full price for everything including the sandwich he pushed me to get. read more

Went here with my family today for my sister's birthday brunch before the birthday dinner tonight. The place was packed so we had to wait for their only five-seater booth. They were courteous enough on that front, offering alternatives and expediting the cleaning for that table so we could be seated rather quickly. Unfortunately, the experience would not stay quite so positive. Our assigned waitress seemed disinterested, showed up infrequently, and seemed to take offense when i requested somebody wipe up the pancake syrup that had been left on the table (the bus-boy she asked to wipe it up, however, was very polite and smiled). We got our order in fairly quickly, and began to chat. Unfortunately, we were pressed for time and noticed that when it was pushing 40 minutes since we ordered, something must be up. Our waitress hadn't exactly been around, so finally we asked a bus-boy to check on our food. Not a moment later our waitress came bursting through the kitchen with our food (which had apparently been done for a little while) and grumbled something to one of her co-workers about "guess I should check these things more often." The food was standard fair, but well and tasty. Overall, the food is good, the restaurant itself is clean and well kept, and the location is pretty nice... I would just shape up the wait staff. (The busing and hostessing staff are fine). On another note, they had free WiFi for me to check messages on my Galaxy phone, and while it was a bit slow, is always nice. read more

Stopped in this morning for breakfast. Nice selection, several options I.E. homefries,hasbrowns or grits. Nice choice of egg dishes and a very interesting selection of pancakes and waffles. The sausages I had were not prepackaged, they were quite large and delicious. The coffee was filled several times. No issues with the wait staff. Our waitress handle several tables with no muss or fuss. Clean and neat atmosphere. We will be returning to try other menu items. read more

No wait upon arrival and seated immediately by hostess who promptly brought a great cup of coffee. My husband's eggs and bacon cooked right and my fresh blueberry pancakes were very tasty and served with heated maple syrup. Loved the fat-link breakfast sausage. Very tasty! This is truly one of the best breakfast restaurants in Wellington. The staff is friendly, the food is amazing, and the prices are reasonable. Best eggs benedict I've had in a while! Steer clear; from the first impression of the dirty floors and filthy air vents.. flys and undercooked hamburgers and totally unprofessional appearance of the " owner" ( dirty , stained, clothes when speaking with her patrons..really.. no apron??") upon getting ready to leave the owner leaned over and pulled me toward her as I sat at the end of the booth in an attempt at some type of affectionate gesture. Been here on a few occasions. Service is always great but the food can be hit or miss. Hashbrown casserole can be amazing or gross, depending on the day-same with eggs. Mini burgers are soo good. When my kid ordered choc chip pancakes they were soo overloaded with chocolate, he couldn't eat them (and he loves chocolate). Very disappointing. This was our first time at this restaurant. It was 10:30 on a Tuesday and they were not busy. Waited 20 minutes for our food. Eggs were over cooked and cold. Medium fried were cooked done and my husbands soft scrambled were like rubber. I got half a biscuit with a tiny dab of sausage gravy But the hash browns were the ultimate let down. They were fried patties like McDonald's that had been chopped up into little pieces and then scooped on the plate. The portions were very small for a breakfast plate costing $10.99. A glass of tea was $2.75. Server didn't come back to check on us until we were done. Not a happy camper! read more

Our waiter was great. The food not so much. No one knows what over easy and sunny side up means. The French toast was eggy and the pancakes were flat and tasteless. As far as chocolate milk goes that should be a no brainer but sadly that was messed up as well. The flies are horrendous and the manager was swatting them as we were eating. First time visit which will also be our last. Was on a busy Sunday mid morning, but got seated right away. My wife ordered a glass of fresh squeezed OJ, wasn't the best nor the worst, but not what we are use to, I opted for a glass of water which tasted like it was pulled out of a toilet bowl, albeit clean, with a strong chlorine/chemical taste and smell. We waited for a long time, Server never said anything to us about the reason for the delay. Food took 45 minutes to be served, a table next to us sat down 15 minutes after we ordered and got their food prior to ours. I heard another table behind us complaining about the long wait. When asked where our food was, the server said that it was in the window and that it will be next, well 10 minutes later the food shows up. I ordered the Egg Sandwich on a Bagel, specified twice when ordered that I wanted it toasted, but it was not toasted, did not have the patience to ask for it to be remade after waiting so long. It came with a side of home fries, which were small, overcooked and dried out. Portions were small, yet the reviews on here said otherwise. My wife's experience was no better, small portion, scrambled eggs, very greasy corned beef hash, short stack of pancakes which were not fully cooked, fluffy or that great. Would figure for a place called "Short Stacks" that this would be key item. Also the syrup was fake and tasteless. Server was not friendly nor were we asked how our food was, checked was dropped at the table, picked up and returned with dead silence. Prices are reasonable for some items, but you get what you pay for and other places give you more for your money. Not a place I recommend nor will try again, I have given places 2nd and 3rd chances but not this time. read more

Always love eating here ,have breakfast here every chance I get they have a wonderful t-bone steak breakfast I get it every time. I'm sure they have other food but since I'm there so infrequently it's always going to be the t-bone steak for me. The chef does an amazing job and the wait staff is on point.
