Last minute breakfast decision. A cute looking restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Wasn't extremely busy on a Wednesday morning. I was seated immediately and greeted by a very friendly server. My pancakes were fluffy and delicious, my ham and cheese omelette didn't overwhelm me. I don't understand this sometimes unpleasant habit of people serving omelettes with the cheese on top instead of inside where it belongs. Cheese on top of an omelette is basically just scrambled eggs with cheese. I don't expect an omlette to be served like that and when it arrived it was an instant disappointment to me. The hashbrowns were like crispy mashed potatoes and completely inedible and also ice cold. At a price point oh $15 I expect a much better experience. read more

When I called your restaurant , I only called to INFORM, I didn't even want my money back. Very unfortunate this is how you do business. I placed an order through DoorDash yesterday & received MOLDY food. I ordered a Ms. Annie with scrambled eggs and sausage links. The eggs, sausage, and home fries were fine. When I took a bite of my cinnamon roll, I immediately knew it was bad. Stale & somewhat odd tasting. I looked down & realized it had MOLD in it. Absolutely disgusting, and impossible to miss when looking at the top of it. I'm so disgusted that they would send this order out. When I called to share my concerns with management (Amber), she was extremely rude to me. "This is the worst time for you to call, can you speed it up? What do you need?" Yesterday, a friend picked Short Stacks to celebrate his birthday for breakfast. I ordered the Cajun breakfast that came with grits, 3 eggs, and a andouille sausage with onions and sweet peppers. I asked for cheddar cheese on the grits, but it arrived without, so I sent it back. When they brought it back, the cheese was just added in it like they mixed it up in the back and brought it back out. It wasn't melted, the grits were cold anyway. My husband ordered pancakes, hashbrowns, and eggs. The waitress seemed a bit new to the company she wasn't sure about the way the hashbrowns were cooked so said the hashbrowns were grilled then they came out fried. My husband was not feeling them. He swapped them for fries. Our friend got the same thing. It was probably an off day, but we might try again. read more

Overall 4.5/5 Ordered their French toast combo with eggs, bacon and hashbrowns, eggs Florentine, and veggie style skillet with sausage, biscuit and gravy. Everything was great! The French toast was the best French toast I've ever had! I got it with a side of whipped cream . The veggie skillet was amazingggg and their sausage gravy and biscuits are to die for! My only comment was that the poached egg was poached a little on the hard side, and I had inedible parts of the tomato in my eggs Florentine. The bacon was also really crispy (like a chip). Absolutely loved this place, the food, and staff. No frills kinda place, just good homemade food. Staff super attentive and quick. I had a tuna melt sandwich, and can't remember the last time it was this good. My son and husband both had chicken soup and said it was so good. I recently visited Short Stacks, and unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of awful. After dining there a couple of days ago, I ended up with severe food poisoning. I've been dealing with stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting ever since. I can't pinpoint exactly what caused it, but I suspect it was the eggs I had, which didn't seem fresh. I've eaten at a lot of places, but this was the first time I've had such a bad reaction to a meal. It's incredibly disappointing, especially considering how much I had been looking forward to a nice breakfast. I hope the restaurant takes food safety more seriously in the future, as I'll definitely be avoiding it from now on. I don't recommend it to anyone who values their health. Update: The business owner replied to my review and instead of being concerned for my health or helpful in any way, they decided to attack me and make up false claims that I was not happy with their email response? I never sent them an email so I don't know what they are going on about. Very unprofessional from their part. read more

I was visiting a friend out in Loxahatchee, which is very much off the beaten path. We mostly enjoyed leisurely mornings at home but decided to head out for a casual diner breakfast. Thanks to Yelp, I found Short Stacks. Our GPS misdirected us to the residential area across the street from the actual location. When I called for assistance in finding the cafe, Miss Annie answered the phone. She was a doll as she stayed on the phone to ensure we found the spot. It was a lovely morning so we sat outside. It's just a simple area in front, that faces the parking lot of a strip mall. It was shaded and the breeze was blowing, which made the experience very pleasant. We really enjoyed all the adorable doggies coming and going to the veterinary office down the way. In addition to the sweet hostess Miss Annie, our server was so helpful and attentive. She kept our glasses full and checked on us often. Customer service is top notch here. I enjoyed a Veggie Skillet with big chunks of fresh green peppers, onions and mushrooms on top of the best breakfast potatoes ever! My friends loved the food as well. The food was okay (although for them to add chocolate chips to the kids pancake for $1 all they did was sprinkle around 20 mini chocolate chips on top), the service was great, but it took forever! It was my 1st time at short stacks and it sooo good..We were greeted by Lynn our server with an amazing personality. We had any glass a Belgian waffle for an appetizer it was light and fluffy hot and delicious. My son orders corn beef hash it was actual corn beef and potato mixture it was absolutely delicious. I ordered a healthy egg white spinach Avacado wrap it was better than I expected and homemade grits. This is a very nice restaurant because their food is fresh. I had the veggie burger and fries and it was very tasty. My friend had the eggs Benedict and she raved about the sauce. The coffee was very good and the waitress kept refilling our cup often. Actually the service was very good and helpful. The seating at this restaurant was every other table and tables were cleaned before we sat. Everyone was wearing mask too. Parking is easy and the restaurant is not far from Publix. We gave this restaurant a try this morning. I have to say that honestly the hype is just that. The food is all over priced and the quality is not there. I ordered the eggs and hash browns with a biscuit. So the biscuit was like old bread reheated in the microwave. Within 4 minutes the inside of the biscuit was hard and staled consistency texture like once bread is heated in a microwave. I told the waitress my concern. She says do you want me to bring you another, that was her fast quick reply. I said ok, just because she was in go mode and seemed like the right fast reply to let her go do her other jobs of waiting on other tables. So here is my reaction when I received my bill she charged me for the replacement biscuit. I did not agree to buying a replacement! My other complaint of first time trying the food, the hash browns were the quality of old tater tots reshaped to be presented in a dome shape. Worst hash browns ever! Tater tots are not a quick hash brown quality at all. We also tried the hamburger and it was gross charbroiled style taste. I was extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the price of food and the quality extremely lacking. I try not to leave reviews that aren't positive however my party that I dined with agreed this is a one and done restaurant. Expect much better! The reply you just gave me makes utterly no sense. I came in to try your breakfast food from seeing it being raved on. I do not work for anyone this was my own experience and your biscuits were not fresh!! Neither was the hash brown tatter tot thing. I've been eating breakfast for many years of my life and your breakfast could use improvement. Chick Fila biscuits are probably of better quality then what I experienced at your restaurant. I had a much different experience than one of the people that are posted reviews here I went in on Saturday about 11:30 in the morning I ordered the HOTTY TODDY the biscuit was stale! Eggs were cooked well and covered in Gravy as requested but the gravy couldn't even soften the stale biscuit! The grits that came with my meal, I ordered with cheddar cheese, I have to say it was the poorest presentation I've ever seen; once the grated cheese did finally melt and I mixed it into the grits as I lifted in my spoon up out of the bowl I was shocked to see that it was just one contiguous glob. The pancakes or short stack that I got with my meal was less than standard. I found them to be heavy and tough. Again it needed to be drowned it in a good amount of syrup but once I did that it was very soft and yummy. The mimosas were as advertised at $3.99 and came in an excellent presentation. Very Yummy!! First of all everything on the menu sounded so good that I had to make a list of multiple items and I actually let the waitress pick for me! She ended up bringing me the California Benedict and my friend had something I can't remember. But hers had hash browns, eggs, bacon, and pancakes in a combo. Ok, my California Benedict was fantastic!! Cooked perfectly. The egg was so runny. I can be really picky about my eggs Benedict and this was amazing. I was so pleasantly surprised and the grits were also delicious, but the real highlight was my friends Pancakes. It was so simple yet incredible. It had nothing on it, but syrup and butter. I devoured her pancakes. I found this strange since they have a whole section on the menu just for crepes. The hash browns are just freezer section hash browns, to be fair, not many restaurants make scratch hash browns.
