I went to a few optometrists in SF and was not happy with any of them, for reasons I will not go into here. I don't think of myself as a problem, I'm just very picky about product and service quality. I've been examined by both Dr. Seger and Dr. Webb and find them both to be exemplary. The opticians seem very knowledgeable as well. Frame selection is very good with both high-end and more economical choices. Billing to insurance is very easy and the product prices are quite reasonable, especially when compared with those less-than-satisfactory high-end SF offices. I take my son here, and continue to drive the distance even though we have now moved 1 hour away. My son had an eye issue, and since we were in town they fit him in their busy day. They even didn't charge us for the visit since nothing was wrong. they are able to evaluate 9 month old babies, which I find very wonderful. My son didn't find out about his vision problem until he was older, and it really effected his ability to learn. I now can have my other children checked frequently at an earlier age to hopefully find any problems sooner. read more

Dr. Webb is the healer of eyes. She's very attentive and caring. She's thorough and pretty much will get you what you need. I came in with an eye infection that my old doctor couldn't help me with. She fixed me right up! Highly recommend anyone looking for an amazing eye doctor. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I have been wearing glasses and contacts almost all of my life and have seen many optometrists, but Shoreline Optometry is by far the best. I have been coming here for a number of years now. Drs. Seger and Webb and all of their staff are the most knowledgeable, caring and accommodating professionals who take time with their patients and seem to truly be concerned about their patients' well-being. Both doctors have a wonderful bedside manner and never make me feel that they are rushed or need to move on to the next patient. I recently had eyelid surgery done by a dermatologist (due to skin cancer) and have had problems with my eyelashes growing back and in and scraping the cornea. It is an extremely irritating and uncomfortable problem and I often have to make appointments last-minute to get the eyelashes plucked. No matter how busy they are, Drs. Seger and Webb always make time to see me and spend extra time checking my eye health, discussing other medical options with me, and referring me to other medical professionals when they feel it is necessary. In addition, the rest of their staff is friendly, efficient, and very helpful. It is hard to find a place around here where I feel my medical needs are addressed in such a warm and caring manner -- AND where I feel that the doctors and staff go out of their way to accommodate me. I cannot recommend Shoreline Optometry more. read more

Recently saw Dr. Web for an visit. I dislike waiting, and was pleased that I was seen right away. She conducted an excellent, thorough exam and then had me meet with another woman to help me pick out frames. It seemed this woman only showed me frames that were near $600 (plus lenses), and I balked at the price. I opted instead to have new lenses put inside my old frames. They happened to have the type of lens I needed in stock, and so within about 20 minutes I had "new" glasses. Though this place is a little pricey, I am pleased with my prescription, pleased with the way I was treated by staff, and pleased (overall) with the experience. read more

I've been going to see Dr Segar for over 7 years now. These folks are simply best in class. Five years ago I started working in San Francisco, and I still head down to Mountain View for my visits to the eye doctor. Dr Segar's experience, depth of knowledge (particularly with respect to contact lenses), professionalism, and quality of care keep me coming back. They are super friendly, and consistently exceed my expectations. I actually look forward to going each year. Their new digs are really nice too! read more

In addition to being a skilled physician, Dr. Seger is kind, patient, and friendly. I'd been having what I thought were vision-related headaches, but his examination revealed that my eyes were fine and that I didn't need vision correction. But if I did need extended vision care, I would certainly head back to him. read more

I wrote a review of Dr.Seger at the end of 2007 and saw him recently at the end of 2009. Every word of what I said two years ago applied equally to my experience with him last month. He has been consistently excellent each and every time I have seen him. I hope you'll read my earlier review for the exact reasons I say this. I've seen a fair number of eye care professionals in the nearly 50 years I've required eye care, and I've never encountered an eye care professional, regardless of discipline, with more knowledge or better clinical skills and attitude. read more

I have depended on Dr. Seger's expertise for over 10 years. He helped me adjust to contacts as well as providing glasses. I feel that his attention to detail and concern for my eyes is exceptional. I never feel that I am rushed during the exam or a fitting for new glasses. I know that the health of my eyes is the top priority when I am a patient in this office. The staff is exceptional in taking time to find frames that fit and I like. I have never had a pair of glasses that slipped on my nose or hurt/pinched and I credit the staff for the good fit. I have seen both Dr Mahajerani and Dr Webb here and both of them were very professional, kind and thorough with my eye exams. I have a small history of retinal problems and each Dr each year have been very informative and also comforting when discussing my eye health. I have been going to Dr. Seger for years. His eye exams are very thorough. He's got a lot of expertise in contact lenses, and he fit me with the most comfortable lenses ever (Night and Day). I put them in as soon as I wake up and don't take them out until I go to bed. I take care of the lenses as he prescribed, and my vision is perfect and never any problems. read more

I have been going to Dr. Seger for over 20 years and I have received exceptional care and service every time. Dr. Seger is very thorough, takes the time to explain everything, and has a very friendly manner. Other staff in the office also are very professional and courteous; Shani, the optician, deserves special mention. On a few occasions, new glasses have not turned out exactly right; the office has always been willing to have them redone to my complete satisfaction.
