Dr. Kim performed IPL on me to help with my dry eye. The pictures associated with this review are of how my face looked after. She also prescribed me prednisolone eye drops. I repeatedly told Dr. Kim that this medication was causing me issues. Despite being presented with symptoms Dr. Kim failed to realize I am allergic to prednisolone. As a result of the symptoms I experienced while taking prednisolone I missed 3 days of work and ended up in the ER. My allergy to prednisolone was officially diagnosed and documented by a different doctor on July 19th. Because of this experience I will never take Prednisolone again and I will never get IPL on my face again. read more

Dr. Kim is smart, thorough, and pleasant, and her staff is responsive and kind. This was my first time at Eye Sight Solutions Optometry and I'll be coming back for my annual check up. On the morning of Friday, December 30th, I called multiple optometry offices including Eye Sight Solutions Optometry. Jenny, one of the front desk attendants, not only fit me in later that same day but also called my insurance on my behalf to ask what the discrepancy was in the system. When I arrived, Cesar was helping other customers so Dr. Kim welcomed me in with a friendly smile and handed me the ipad to fill out some forms ahead of my first appointment. It's clear that no task is beneath her which is a great culture to have. The appointment with Dr. Kim was efficient, yet thorough. For example, Dr. Kim pointed out a structural inefficiency with my eyes that no other optometrist had ever pointed out, and she even showed me the images and explained in layman's terms. I never had any discomfort, as Dr. Kim was firm but gentle, when checking various aspects of eye health such as eye pressure. When I was checking out with Cesar, I tried on glasses but couldn't find one I liked that was affordable. Instead of pressuring me to buy a pair at the office, he assured me he would send me my prescription so I could take it anywhere online or to Costco down the street (which I did the next day to get my glasses). Ripoff, I had my eye examination and was prescribed glasses. they showed me bunch of frames with brands like Gucci,.... I chose to go with something very simple and of course cheap (literally like grandma glasses and I'm in my 30s). see the photo for your self! The person who showed me the frames confirmed its around 200$ and she NEVER mentioned that this price is after insurance coverage! I had 150$ credit from my insurance so I thought I am only paying 50 extra and with my insurance claim I will be partially refunded. Next thing I know they charged the Frame for 450$ and I did not receive anything back from the insurance. I became Dr. Kim's patient after Dr. Clark transferred his practice, and really happy I stayed. Dr. Kim is very attentive, thoughtful and caring, patiently answers all the questions and addresses concerns. I also appreciate that she invested in new equipment for the practice, that adds a lot to my experience as a patient, e.g. I no longer need to go places for retina screenings. It is always easy to schedule an appointment, and I'm very grateful they opened early during the pandemic. Office staff is very courteous and always super helpful, either with scheduling an appointment for an annual check up or for the frame adjustment. Lenses I ordered are slightly on the more expensive side, but I really like the quality and how quickly I got my glasses ready. read more

Very unprofessional customer service After being used with the great service of Dr. Clark's office (the previous owner of this location) my recent experience was by far the worst I've ever seen. 1. First they tried to charge me an extra $60 because they couldn't understand the insurance terms. When I was calling the insurance company in front of them, they agreed to drop the fee. Still, they charged me an extra 20% on the frames and I had to call VSP to explain them how the insurance works. They haven't refunded the overcharge and insisted I have go in person to get the refund. Honestly, I understand insurance policies are hard to understand but it's rare to see such a gross unwillingness to make things right. 2. Unclear price tags The price of the frames was not clearly marked and even the sales person was confused; first they told me the price is $215, then $315 and finally $310. 3. At closing time at 4 PM they turned off the lights and rushed me to buy the frames. I've tried to talk directly to Dr. Kim but they've never called me back. read more

No more headaches!! Dr. Kim fixed my previous prescription. I used to have headaches and blurry vision towards to end of the day. I had a hunch that it was because of my glasses since take them off seem to help make things better. After my visit with Dr. Kim it was confirmed that my OS was off by +0.25 and Cylinder + Axis had to be revised. After my new prescription I can wear my glasses all day with no headaches! Dr. Kim has a high attention to detail and explains everything to me. I am taking 1 star off because the Lab messed up my glasses and did not include the prism correction. This caused a delay of 1+ week. Other than that I still have a slight halo on my left side (with high-contrast reading) but its night and day compared to my previous glasses. I will most likely have it looked at again on my next visit. Bottom line, I am a fan and will continue to be a patient here. Thanks Dr.! read more

If you are looking for an excellent optometrist, I highly recommend Dr Yura Kim. My experience with her has been extremely positive and I am glad that I opted to transition with her when she took over the practice from Dr Clark. I don't have insurance so it is very important to me that I receive value for money that comes out of my own pocket. Dr Kim is friendly, patient (a good trait to have with older customers!), thorough (detail oriented) and very professional. She is a good listener, has good people skills and communicates well (takes time to explain things in layman terms). I particularly appreciate that she does not try to upsell stuff that I don't need. Her practice offers an optional retina test for an additional charge but there is no pressure whatsoever to get this test. I did take the test last year as I had some (blurry) eye issues and wanted comfort that my retinas were okay. However, I declined the test this year and noted no drop off in service. Her practice has invested in new equipment (a headset device) to test peripheral vision so it is good to know that she is keeping abreast of technological developments in her field. She has a good friendly and helpful support staff and as an added bonus you may be greeted by her sweet and gentle dog who is silky smooth! read more

I got perfectly fitted toric contact lenses here! And thanks to Dr. Kim I'm now aware of an interesting speciality their retina imaging instrument revealed about my eyes. Apparently none of the optometrists where I have been before back in Germany noticed that or didn't use that technology. read more

Dr. Kim is hilarious. My old optometrist was dry and a little out of touch, like I'm a once-a-year routine of the many patients they funnel through. Now, I have fairly decent vision, but Dr. Kim definitely pointed me in the right direction in knowing what I'm at risk of in the years to come that's consistent with previous OD's. The best part really is that she's peculiarly relatable. Never took my vision seriously before this visit. Lisa helped me pick out my frames. She definitely did a top notch job because my friends can't stop talking about them/pulling them off my face to try them on. Highly recommend trying this place out. read more

Dr. Kim is so good! She monitored my cataracts for a while now helping me with my eyeglass prescription along the way. This year's exam revealed it was time to have them removed. Dr. Kim has taken over Dr. Clark's practice and she is fantastic! I really liked Dr. Clark and was sad to see him retire; the office told me that they were thrilled to have secured Dr. Kim as his replacement, and they were certainly right about that. I had a full annual exam with her, and it was thoroughly professional. The office has some new diagnostic equipment, and she is clearly on the leading edge of optometric technology. I have been seeing Dr. Clark at this office for a few decades. Today was my first exam with Dr. Kim. The staff and Dr. Kim were excellent and every bit as professional and efficient as Dr. Clark. Dr. Kim guided me through a thorough analysis of my eye condition and this will serve as a baseline exam for years to come. I have never seen the retina cross section before. I looked it up, it is called Ocular coherence tomography (OCT) This exam can tell a lot about eye health. read more
