3 people were working here at the time, but obviously more interested in their conversation; and then a security guard was called to join them. I asked why I was receiving only 1 shoe to try on and the lady responded, "Because people are stealing." I said, "if you actually provided people with baseline customer service then probably you won't feel like people are stealing anymore." I received a full pair of shoes to try on after that. It was difficult to get any type of followup so I left and decided not to shop here in person or online ever again. Is this what retailers mean when they claim they have to close a store due to theft? It sounds like the so called "theft" are really the workers not interested in doing their jobs but still getting paid. I hope the conversation was good. read more

My experience at this store confirms why I buy and shop online. But, all my Nikes fit differently and are different sizes. To avoid unnecessary returns, I decided to stop in to try on the Nike Air Max 270. The 2 young employees, male & female attitudes, were very unapproachable. Clearly, they were annoyed to be at work and could careless if a shoe was sold or not. The guy literally brought me 1 shoe to try on for each size. I've never been brought 1 shoe in my history of buying sneakers. I have 2 feet!! Maybe that's the environment and culture of this store. But, shoe palace definitely loss business and a sale due to the lack of customer service at this location. No thanks, I'm good. Recommend? I absolutely do not. Worst customer service ever. I usually stop in and grab my son a pair of shoes... and they didn't have his size or the ones he wanted. But I found a pair for myself and tried on the only size they had but I needed a 1/2 size bigger. The women that helped me looked at the stores around in the system and nothing, but then started to help someone else while I asked her if they had it online. Her comment was, "probably but it won't be on sale" ... I was trying to look for it online while standing at the register and nothing came up and she just was no help to me what so ever. Useless staff, just standing around chatting instead of helping customers. The music is playing so loudly (probably on purpose) that even if you were trying to get one of the staff's attention, they'd just pretend they can't hear you. We went to both locations at the mall and had the same experience. Hire better staff or retrain them to actually do some work. The smaller location had four staffers at the cash wrap just laughing and talking to one another. I was ready to spend some money but got so put off that we ended up at footlocker. Have your employees take a field trip over to footlocker to see how they operate. The music isn't too loud and I was actually greeted as I entered. I went to every shoe store in Serramonte Mall and even called a few in Tanforan Mall in search of a men's 6.5 Addidas Superstar and the only person to go out of her way to search all stock and help me find what I was looking for was Angela. Great store! Leah, Jasmine,Alex and most of the staff such great and helpful people. Kevin is my dude, but Leah seems to be doing a great job taking over the store. Jasmine and Alex are always super great to us when we come in and always make sure to provide the best customer service. The workers there are so friendly they are super nice. BUT I was there just now I found a shoe I liked it it was the last one I waited there for about 20 minutes then the girl came up to me and told that she can't find the second pair I asked her to please look for it again she was nice and she did for 15 minutes. My mom wanted to see the manger. The manger was telling us that she will go back there and look for it HERSELF acting like she was doing us a favor when she was not. So if you go there and like a shoe then girl you're not getting it 'cause what they said is they have this problem every time and that's something that they are trying to solve. The staff here is great, I went today to get a pair of shoes and this young girl named Ana was helping me out. I was a bit indecisive in which shoes to get and she made me feel not rushed at all and even showed me which shoes would look the best on me. My boyfriend and I sat around waiting for his size on some simple Janoskis for 25 -30 minutes. An employee approached us and asked what we needed, we told him, waited, waited and he approached us again and said "What size again?" We tell him 11 and we see him just standing around, another few minutes pass and he says "We're getting those size 11s for you boss." At this point it's 15 minutes and the store isn't that busy and the cashiers are drinking Starbucks in view of customers. I just don't understand. We sit around for another 10 minutes with no update and the same employee just watches us walk out without saying anything. There should be a sense of urgency with the employees here, you can't make sales if you have disappointed customers walking out without making purchases. It's not hard. read more

Was bought a pair of Van's Thursday as a gift, Ms. TATIANA couldnt do her simple job and check the shoes , that the shoe sizes matched like all other shoe store employees do. I open my box only to find that there is one womens size 8 and one womens size 10.5. I hate going into this store. Every single time I go in several salesmen attack me at once. I don't even have a moment to look at the shoes before they start talking to me. It's hard to brush them off, too- I'll say I'm just looking, and they start up with a "What are you looking for? These sneakers would look great with your outfit! I'm a sneakerhead & this is my first review of a shoe store. (I used to work for Kids Footlocker...so I have tons of shoes!) I have to give it up to Shoe Palace for having the Black/Purple Jordan Retro 1s!! I tried to find the shoe online, but I did not find it until I searched ebay. Service was GREAT. All the employees greeted me & they appeared HAPPY & ENERGETIC (which is rare to find in the retail world). I must admit, they did try hard to make a sale. All the employees complimented the shoes I choose and they tried to sell the protector & cleaner. They tried to convince my best friend to buy a pair of shoes. We are in a recession, so I understand why they are trying to push for sales, but what I liked about them was they were still friendly. I shopped at this place a few times & I haven't had a bad experience. If you just want to browse at shoes, this is not really the best place for you, especially if you don't like "pushy" sales people. read more

Never heard of the place before seeing it in Tanforan Mall. Probably the pimpinest shoe store I ever been to. Just looks at the Athlete's Foot across the hall and you immediately see the difference in selection. This place has an incredible variety of modern, old school, funky athletic shoes. It was like looking at art. I bought a pair of K-Swiss...though i don't think it was worth $69 or has enough support to play tennis, they look damn nice. Just left shoe palace, with an amazing pair of leopard and pink roshe's. Honesty, I am uber girly and leopard and pink is my thing. The young handsome man helping me Danny R was so helpful, patient, and went above and beyond to execute awesome customer service! When I go back to grab another pair of shoes, I'll definitely go back to see Danny. The store was clean, well kept and had the newest selection of shoes. Went into the store today with my Fiancé to exchange a pair of shoes he just bought. First of all when u try a pair of shoes on they only let you try on one shoe, which is ridiculous. He tried on one shoe and it was fine. Bought the shoes,brought them home, tried them on again and guess what the shoe they didn't bring out felt completely different and uncomfortable. The manager is the one who helped us and he said the shoes were worn. Yes they were worn inside my house... Never left the house in them. This place has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE anywhere. Jerry, Larry or terry whatever the managers name is was completely rude and not helpful in any way. Rule #1 of customer service is THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!! I made an Yelp account just to write this review. BUY FROM FOOT LOCKER INSTEAD !! SHOE PALACE IS WORST PLACE EVERY. allow me to explain. i bought a pair of shoes (nike 2014 air max about $149) about 1 and 1/2 weeks ago. as i was getting ringed up it feels very sketch. Lots of signs posted about their return policy and no full refunds EVEN IF ITEM IS BRAND NEW. The most you can do is get an exchange with in 30 days. I think they had all these signs posted because they probably had issues before with other customers complaints or they are just money hungry. The customer service you receive feels like they really just want to sell you shoes and never hear from you again. So my shoes after having it for less then 2 weeks, a part of the sole started to come apart (defective). I gave Shoe Palace a call to what they do with defective shoes and they told me they don't deal with it and i will need to contact Nike directly or their corporate location. I called footlocker just to see what they would do with defective shoes, and with out an hesitation they said just bring it in and if its a defect, they will swap out the shoes. So now i will just need to contact Nike and send my shoes in for warranty. How can a place of business IN A MALL have such garbage policies. I do not think they want returning customers. Every single employee, including the manager came up to me within minutes to ask if we needed help with a very large smile on their face. I came here after receiving horrendous service from the kids footlocker a few stores down in the same mall. The manager at kids footlocker actually swore at me! and told me to get the fuck out of her store after I said she was being rude.. plus so much more... I was extremely happy to come here and the vibe was instantly more positive and more of a place I would want to give my money. Shopping with a toddler is hard, and all the employees were there to help us along the way. They were very social, talkative and made us feel welcome. Plus the Nike's we got were on sale for $28! Usually they are $50 other places. So so happy with these people and the way they conduct business. I will be back and I will never step foot in another Kids foot Locker again. read more

We went on a Saturday morning around 10:30, so there were only about three customers. They also had 3 sales people. My daughter was looking for basketball shoes, so I had her speak to the salesperson who greeted us. I give him credit for asking questions and engaging her in the conversation. Once he figured out what she was looking for, he gave her some suggestions and grabbed three shoes to get sizes from the back. And then it went downhill. About 10 minutes later (tick tock tick tock... there's nothing else to do but wait), another salesperson came by and asked, "Looking for some shoes? What shoes are you looking for?" I pointed to the other guy who was now at the counter trying to explain that he had our shoes, but another look told me that this guy already had the sample shoes in his hand, so I pointed at his hands while my husband said, "those shoes." Not sure why he'd ask if he already knew. He introduced himself, shook our hands, and said he'd be back w/the shoes in the right size. Meanwhile, the third salesperson approaches us to see if there's anything she could do. I told her the other guy was helping us already, but I definitely starting to get impatient. Another 10 minutes go by, and he comes back with 1 SHOE in the right size telling us that that's all they had. My daughter puts it on, and she decides she's not interested. They didn't even bring out both shoes. Who buys shoes without trying on both of them?! I told my husband to let them know, while my daughter and I walked out (we were there for about 30 minutes by now). By this time the salespeople were talking to my husband about other possibilities, so we went back to the store and told our salesperson that he should have brought all the possibilities out at the same time and shouldn't have taken so long. They were apologetic, but we left because I had reached my limit on "sitting around doing nothing." Except for some of the shoes on sale, nothing had a price on it. I can't buy anything without knowing the price. The salespeople were high in energy and could have provided great service because it seemed like they knew what to do, but they couldn't execute. It was almost like buying a car at a stereotypical auto dealer where the salesperson tells you that they have a great deal for you and then tries to keep you on the property as you walked away. I just couldn't understand why the first person couldn't bring out the shoes for us, and assuming he was the transitional person giving the sales to his sales person, why the sales person didn't quickly bring out the shoes to us. He clearly knew we were waiting a long time and had even acknowledged it. There wasn't any other activity going on in the store. I give them 2 stars for potentially good service and the wide variety of shoes, but I'll never go back because it was a negative experience for me. read more

Yup, this is my fault. I should have checked with Yelp before trying to purchase a new pair of shoes. Long story short. - Needed a pair or running shoes for getting back into shape. Nice salesmen, he not only convinced me to buy a pair if shoes but I tried to buy the new AIRMAX $159 on sale. Guess what they dont have my size,so I said I would go somwhere else, I was so excited about these shoes that I wanted them now. I he convinced me to place an order and wait 7 days. Shoes come in and this is WERE IT GOES ALL BAD. 1. SHOES ARE WRONG SIZE, I ORDER SIZE 9 this ship me size 8.5 Funny thing is at time of placing special order, I mention that if 8.5 could come in faster I would take it. 2. So little disappointed they didnt get shoe size right, I could have ordered them online and saved $20, but ok 3. The NEw shoes i suppose to be special ordered from inventory down south ends up being A USED PAIR OF SHOES!!!! i mean laces already laced. Bottom of shoes have black smudges and dirt. This clean white sides of shoes had small spotty dirt!!. I showed them this and they acted like it couldnt be and it might be me who dirty the shoe.I didnt even put them on yet.
