My parents and I came here on a day trip around Door County. We were hungry, we saw the sign, we stopped. And we were not disappointed. My dad and I each got a beer sampler. The Cherry Wheat was delicious and I ended up buying a 6-pack. My mom and I shared the loaded pretzel appetizer which was fantastic. Then she and I shared the Rooster Mac & Cheese (wow! fabulous) and one of the barbeque sandwiches (also very good). Our waitress was attentive and helpful in offering suggestions. We ate as a family there last night. Our waitress Bunny was so friendly and really attentive. The food was very good- especially the loaded fries, Cherry bbq ribs and the cheese curds. The tables are nicely spaced upstairs. The waiter was attentive. Good variety on the menu. I split the Pretzel Tavern Burger which has a burger and a brat patty. It was excellent, great combination. I had the pleasure of dining here the first night** after their "soft re-opening," and am impressed with the recovery after last summer's disastrous fire. As with any new restaurant operation, there are some growing pains -- the kitchen seemed to be running a little slow and our food took a while -- but everything tasted delicious, and the flight of beer was the perfect way to try the available brews. Our server, Megan, was polite, friendly, and efficient. The new building is very well done and fits in nicely with the other buildings in Egg Harbor. It's modern, but still maintains the look and feel of its predecessor. Bravo to the owners for not erecting some new-agey monstrosity. I recommend the crab cake sandwich or the ribs, along with the beer flight. The outdoor patio dining area is lovely when the weather is nice. Please "like" this review if you remember when this location was called The Blue Iris. :-) ** We ate here on Saturday, June 23. We have visited this business several times, and enjoyed the experience. On 9/3/23 we had lunch here and noticed gang graffiti in a bathroom stall. I would like to assume the bathrooms are cleaned daily, and checked a couple more times. So I can only believe the management and staff don't care about this. If so, they are heading in a bad direction. I wanted to report this to the manager, but they could not be found. The lack of supervision may be at the root of this problem. read more

Worst experience ever! Do not recommend. Granted it's off season, but spring break week regardless. They had a hostess one guy at the bar and cook. We waited for 1.5 hrs and sat at our table for 30 mins without anyone even taking our order. Then two tables who were seated after use got waited on. We left! The beer they brew was awful. We were seated upstairs. When we arrived we were the first ones to be seated there. Upon leaving there were a few more tables but the place was not super busy. This is important for later in the review. The waitress was friendly. We decided since they weren't busy we'd stay a while and enjoy the view. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks. I asked to keep the drink and food menu as we'd get more later. The waitress just paused and looked confused. She asked if she could take at least one menu back. Ok? No big deal, my friend and I will share when it comes to ordering our meal. We ordered some drinks, that were affordable and tasty. Ordered some cheese curds and the soft pretzels. The cheese curds were greatly slacking in flavor and quantity. But the soft pretzel was amazing. So good my friend ordered another. I left to go use the restroom. I came back to find out the waitress and taken those menus back. Apparently, she was pretty concerned about getting those back. So that ended that. No more drinks and no meal. We had just one drink and appetizers. Feeling rushed out wasn't comforting. I'd understand if they were busy. We went to another local establishment for dinner. read more

We have eaten here several times for lunch and have been very pleased, however dinner tonight was super disappointing. The ribs we ordered were over cooked and probably leftover from the previous day. After complaining we were offered a $7 discount on a $28 rack of dry disgusting ribs. Made a quick stop here before ending my Door County day trip. A friend suggested going here as she wanted to check it out since they renovated the space after the fire. Big open space, with two floors, and plenty of seating. A lot of natural light from the big glass windows. The bathrooms are on the second floor, which is fine but you would have a lot less people walking aimlessly if you had some on the first floor as well. They have a decent list of beers to try. I did enjoy my Belgian Blonde Ale, and I'd recommend tasting the cherry mimosa...something a little different and tasty. I would like to go here again to explore more beers and food menu and hoped to be wowed a little more. read more

One of the worst dinning experiences we have had. It took 1 and 1/2 hours to get our food after ordering and it was barely warm like it had been on the warming rack for a long time. The special of the day was meatloaf was it was had a burnt taste and uneatable. Others who came after us had gotten their meal before us. It was just the two of us so not dealing with a big group. We will return for sure! The interior of the restaurant is perfect and reflects the location by the Bay. We had a very friendly waitress that made us feel very comfortable and accommodated all our requests. We had meatloaf , cherry pecan salad and The Kraken. WARNING: EXTREMELY RUDE MANAGEMENT- CALLED MY HUSBAND A "MISERABLE FUCK". We've been here before; usually a good experience. However, this time everything seemed off. The one mixed drink my husband ordered was so bad that even I thought something was wrong with it. The food was mediocre at best, and the seafood chowder was just...not good. After I had ALREADY PAID the entire bill and left an over 20% tip, my husband attempted to inform the manager of the situation with the food and drink as we were leaving just to let him know (as most managers want to have feedback from their customers- especially repeat customers like us), and the manager told him to his face that he cannot help that my husband is "a miserable fuck" and to "pay the fucking bill and leave" (even though I had already paid). He said this at the front desk IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS. I will never EVER visit this terrible, hateful establishment again and I will let everyone I know that this establishment treated this gay couple this way. UNACCEPTABLE!! i expect no less than a full written apology from the Owner and the release of any staff that cannot treat their customers with respect. AVOID. read more

We visited during off season and wasn't expecting the same experience we would if it wasn't the day before New Year's Eve. My husband and I came from sturgeon bay to try it out. We got there for early dinner and it was pretty dead, all the staff were huddled around the host area but we were greeted and seated before they all went back to their phones. However our waitress must have been bored as she would not leave us alone and continued to check on us every 5 minutes. We ordered the pretzel for an appetizer and our drinks. Those were great. As for our dinners, my husband ordered the fish and chips which he enjoyed. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and it was edible. It was almost too thick and overdone. Not the best experience for a family with a baby. This restaurant has a policy that families park their strollers behind their host station in order to ensure there is enough space at/around tables for patrons and staff. They request that families have toddlers/babies use high chairs, and for infants too little/young for the high chairs they flip over a high chair to hold carseats at the table. This all makes sense and we understand the reasoning; however, we have a Doona carseat (carseat - stroller all-in-one with wheels that collapse into the seat) which is different than a typical stroller or wagon. We very calmly and kindly attempted to explain this to the host, who rolled her eyes at us and became very rude/dismissive. We even tried to show her how the stroller consolidates into a carrier carseat, but she wouldn't listen. Another couple waiting to be seated even tried to help as they were watching us with our carseat and understood, but she continued to treat us rudely. Eventually a man, who we believe was the manager, came over. He started to explain the policy in frustration as well, until my husband said "Please just look at our carseat" and demonstrated how it collapses. He then admitted he never saw one before, as the host continued to scoff and roll her eyes, and he brought us to a table without so much as an apology. We thought about leaving, but everyone in our group was hungry so we gave it a chance. It would have gone a long way to simply say they were sorry for the confusion. I truly hope that the host was simply having a rough day and that things get better for her, otherwise I believe additional training for her or hiring a new host should be looked into based in the awful customer service. Our waiter was fantastic! He was attentive, kind, and great with our kids. The food was just okay. Nothing special about it, but it did the job for a hungry group. There is a reason why this place is called shipwrecked. It is because it IS a shipwreck. The food is truly hit or miss like the rocks in the ocean. The big pretzel is a lot of fun for the entire table. The ribs are horrible, tasteless and tough. Here's what I have a problem with. We ordered a full rack of ribs. We received 1/2 of a rack of ribs and then four ittle pieces of ribs to suggest they took parts of other ribs and served them to us as a full rack of ribs. Who does that? The service is uncaring. Sebastian our waiter rarely checked on us. The room was empty with customers (go figure) and other waitresses helped us with getting simple things like water. Sebastian debated with us when we received rancid wine. He decided to prove us wrong and bring out a brand new bottle of wine saying our wine is great here. Instead of having him just take the aweful wine away, he wanted to leave the wine on the table to show us that he is right and their brand new bottle of wine taste great. Don't bother stopping at this place unless you want to take the chance of a shipwrecked dinner. We will NEVER return here again and we come here every year. I wish I could give it zero stars. By the way if every other restaurant is full, your chances are better to just jump in the marina and get the fish yourself. read more

Great lunch spot to grab a beer and a sandwich/burger while shopping. They offer a large craft beer selection as well as a long/diverse American menu. We enjoyed our pretzels as an appetizer, only three sticks but yummy. Everyone got burgers or sandwiches and left full and happy! Their fries are thin and fried to perfection! Outdoor patio has slim view of the lake which is fun, and their interior has two levels. It's large and spaced out. Best part was our waiter, Carlin. The service was fantastic, our server was so friendly and our food came out very quickly. I ordered a cranbernet wine slushee, and it was one of the best frozen beverages I'd ever had. Refreshing, fruity, and not too sweet. For food I had the Italian Cold Cut sandwich and it was really good. There were really good side options, I went with potato salad, which was super good. New space is very nice. Biggest problem is the owner prohibits the most popular sporting event to be played on TV upstairs in order to turn tables. From friends that did construction on the reconstruction, the owner was very, very rude to the workers. And now... that attitude goes to their guests. During Fall Fest, there was more than a 45 minute wait to sit down... we drank their home brewed beers and watched the brewers. They lost.. boo.. but then we were buzzed to go upstairs and we were excited as a table of 12 to enjoy dinner watching the badgers. We sat... started watching Q1 of the game and then it was turned off. Our waitress said she didn't know why and would get the manager. Manager said the owner prohibited these games to be broadcast upstairs. The goal was to get people seated, served, And out the door as fast as possible. NOTE- there were at LEAST 4 open tables wide open as people are waiting at least 45 min to eat... Their strategy is to not broadcast the game so people will eat and get out. During our stay... 3 tables left out of frustration. The food looked good... but out of principle, we ordered pizza from Bayside and watched the game front home. Recommendation to owners: Treat your customers as they want to be treated. Customers can eat anywhere and watch the big game wherever they wish... but they want an experience. You are not delivering that. We will not return. read more

Someone needs to educate the owners on looking after their customers prior to service. 45 minute wait for a table and no seating whilst waiting. After 45 minutes taken upstairs to our table to find a huge open floor area with more space than tables. Hint put some tables in the wasted unused space and your wait times will be a lot less and you might stop the people from leaving rather than waiting. Dirty empty tables waiting to be cleared which would also cut down the wait. We have been here 2 hours had one drink and thankfully the appetizer was quick but still waiting for the table to be cleared and offered more drinks. The staff was friendly, as were the few other patrons (it's definitely the off season), but the food, not so inviting. The clam chowder was good, nice and thick; and the fried cod was good, also thick like I like. However, the shrimp pasta was not. My husband didn't eat his, because he straight out didn't like the flavor. The shrimp were delicious, but the pasta just tasted, um,...weird. I finished mine and threw it up a half hour later!
