We have not been there since Covid. We always enjoyed going there and their fish fry was exceptional and reasonable. We went back tonight to tiny pieces of fish mostly breading was not good at all. The service was atrocious. I understand with Covid prices have gone up. I get that but I feel this business is gouging. The appetizers of onion rings were $18! How do you charge $18 for a side of onion rings? You can go to Scottsdale and get onion rings for a lot less than that! I'm here to tell you that this place has the BEST french fries on the planet. We literally go for the french fries. They seem to be lightly battered or something...they are crispy and juicy at the same time. I can't explain it, they are just SO good. Onion rings, too.. LEGIT. I got breaded fish and it was clear the fish was fresh, hand filleted & breaded. DELISH. Burgers and everything else, very yummy. Fantastic views. Food is good & the view of the lake is really nice but I failed to notice that the gratuity of 20% was automatically added to my meal ticket and then listed again after my debit card was run through and it was listed again on my receipt, so I ended up giving the server an additional 20% tip. And my debit card was charged $.15 more than what my meal ticket had listed. Not a big deal at all, but it's the principle of this add-on. The main Server Lady also asked our table to keep it down as they were getting ready to have more customers show up. I didn't think we were being loud. Had such a lovely birthday lunch there today with my mom and puppy. We sat on the patio with misters and it was a great break from the sun. Brad brought out a big bowl of ice water for our puppy without us asking, then brought her a tiny little bowl of chicken as well. The food was great but the service made the day special. I feel terrible having to write this review but I just had to. I had been to this restaurant one time before the new owners took over. I thought the food was just "ok" and I really was more interested in enjoying the view while getting to know the area I just moved to. Went back a second time with out of town family and they were closed for remodeling. Needless to say, I was thrilled thinking the food would be better. I recently went with my husband and our kids. The food was horrible. Disgusting honestly. The fried calamari (strips), burger meat, fish in the fish tacos clearly previously frozen. They had no taste and were dry. My caesar salad had no flavor and no croutons. The food is also grossly overpriced for what you are getting. There were two things that were positive about the experience, the view and our really sweet server. Service was slow but we were ok with that because our drinks came out quickly. The new owners are resting on the fact that they have great views but that is really all they have to offer right now. This could be "the spot" to go to in the area if the food was fresh. The menu can be shortened so that there is "quality" instead of "quantity". I hope that the new owners read this review and the latest ones and take them into consideration to make very needed menu improvements. You have a gem here, polish it and make it shine. read more

I came here last year during AZ Bike Week for breakfast and it was great. Today I came for drinks and lunch after a hike and didn't have the same experience. We came at rush hour and we're treated well. The host handled the crowd with patience and humor. We waited 20 minutes which surprised me. This place was disgusting. To start, I went to the restroom to wash my hands before lunch and I saw a waitress wearing a "Shiprock" shirt walk out the stall and not wash her hands. Immediate red flag. After that, I order the French dip and it was absolutely terrible. It was $17.99 and all the meat was massive chunks of fat or grey meat. I pulled all the fat out and showed the waiter how much fat was in the sandwich. He agreed it was a lot of fat and went to talk to the owner, who decided they could give me $8 off my tab....of a $17.99 inedible sandwich. The waiter took my plate back to show his manager to convince him into giving more off because I didn't even eat it. The manager wouldn't do anything more so the waiter came back and had even paid $3 of his own money towards my tab. I ultimately paid $12 for like 10 fries that were a side to the sandwich. I'll never go back, and honestly the manager didn't care. They know they his disposable tourist income. We've been going to the restaurant at the marina after a day on the lake for years. Everything we've tried on the menu was surprisingly good, but nothing could compare with the fish and chips. The portions were big and if you were really hungry you could get all you can eat on Fridays. Arguably it was the best fish and chips in the valley. When we found out there were new owners we had hoped that the food would be the same, it wasn't. We ordered the fish and chips and the pieces were half the size of what they used to be. If one did not order "all you can eat" you wouldn't have enough food for a meal. My friend And I stopped here for breakfast on the lake and a beautiful Saturday morning. Service was excellent, friendly, and fast. My breakfast torpedo burrito was excellent. A little on the plain side, but when I asked for more cheese I was given a generous helping and it really made it more to my liking. Of course the kitchen is taking efforts not to kill their customers so minimal salt was added, so you may need to exercise your rights as an American and add more salt and pepper to suit your tase buds. I respect the chefs for erring on the safe side, we all know we ingest enough salt on a regular basis. Did I mention it was enormous?, literally it was a footlong. If you're hungry and you like breakfast burritios I recommend it. As for my friend, he ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. It also was a very generous portion and by our master degree estimations, easily surpassed 1200 calories. He loved it. I was a little jealous of the hashbrowns, and plan to order it next time I dine here. Food was hot, kitchen was fast and we enjoyed our breakfast. I didnt get hungry for hours. A couple suggestionsto earn all 5 stars include: cleaner glasses for orange juice, better orange juice, purchasing new seats (my chair was uncomfortable), and ripping out rod iron gate and putting newer more stylish decor. This place has potential, but I think is settling for good enough for flip flops and wet swim suits. Fries are covered in tasteless coating with no potato flavor. Shrimp is very small, hard fried, mostly cheap breading and does not even come close to the quality of a Long John Silvers. Chairs in dining area are 25 years old and extremely uncomfortable to the point of ruining further your dinner and the view. Expect a hard steel bar digging into your bottom as you eat your meal. Be afraid the thin, excessively worn mesh plastic will break through as you move in the chair. Expect to pay $100 for 3 adults, no alcohol, no coffee, no desert. We were visiting Scottsdale for the weekend and had an excursion planned close to this location on Saturday. A lady at the excursion place recommended that we spend some time on this lake at the marina. When we got close to the marina I looked up restaurants and this was the closest. I ordered a breakfest burrito with ham, and let me tell y'all it did not dissapoint!! Went back in the afternoon for lunch and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and let me tell ya it was just as BOMB as the breakfast burrito!! Wanted to take my mom on a drive for a nice lunch and had heard how beautiful the lake was. We were VERY disappointed . First off the service was TERRIBLE from the host who was seating people to our waiter who was just plain put out when we didn't know what we wanted to drink and asked a few questions about the menu and drink list. We waited for over an hour to be seated when at least 1/3 of the tables were empty to waiting for another hour to get our lunch. I ordered a bowl of the clam chowder. Another thing to be aware of is that in addition to the too high prices, they add an undisclosed surcharge to your bill. So a one or two star for the food and cost of said food. Delicious with an amazing view and fantastic service. My husband and I came for lunch and sat on the back patio. I had the Malibu chicken sandwich with no bun (keto life) and a side salad. What a horrible customer experience to not let your guests know that there's a split charge and charge $34 for a two star hamburger that I think my school cafeteria did a better job of making. Originally from Minnesota, I was so excited to try the walleye, but was greatly disappointed. It was so dry and had no flavor. It was as if there was no seasoning to it.. I got the coleslaw and twice baked potato casserole for my sides and was very happy in my choices! The coleslaw and casserole made up for the walleye. My husband was upset that he hadn't gotten the coleslaw when he tried it. He got the catfish po boy with fries and was happy in his choice. He said it was a bit dry as well, but was happy in his choice. So, if you're from the Midwest... you might be disappointed with the fried walleye...
