This seafood shop and restaurant is a great place to visit while at the beach. We stopped here for lunch during a warm weekend at the beach in October. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. There seats inside and out and the atmosphere was relaxing and casual. Our Ipswich clams or what New Englander call steamers were delicious. I also loved my Softshell crab sandwich which was big and fluffy. Overall we would go here again while in the area.

Manhattan style clam chowder. This is the size of a $7 bowl

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon after Labor Day and there was no waiting for a table inside, there's also outdoor tables which are perfect for a day at the shore. I ordered the Manhattan clam chowder which was peppery and low on the clams. I also ordered the Crab wrap - lump crab meat, brie cheese, chopped bacon, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes + dill mayo in a spinach wrap, served with fries. I opted for a hoagie roll rather than spinach wrap. All good, plenty of crabmeat and crispy bacon. Mmmmm Service was prompt and served with a smile. I would recommend this restaurant and will be back.

Good food and attentive service. Trinity accurately took down our orders and checked on us throughout the meal. The restaurant was busy so we had to opt for outside seating. The ambiance was relaxed and casual. Our late night dinner experience was good and we will be happy to return for more meals.

My family and I ate here two times during our week vacation. The food, service and quality was top notch! It was so good and you have to go when you visit Ship Bottom. We ate at the restaurant both times but they have lots of delicious take out options too. Highly recommend!! My son loved the fish and chips and even ate two orders of them!! So good!

Really good food! Waits can be a bit long and some of the bar tables outside might be on a slant, but overall some legit crab cakes! fried flounder was also good, as was blackened tuna sandwich. I would return when I am in LBI for sure. Here's a tip - get a dish with fries because as a stand alone side they are $8-$10; double the price of some of the other sides.

Go here for the tuna poke nachos and the artichoke heart appetizer both are BANGING but the artichoke was pricey for 4 mini crab stuffed hearts. Save that roll though to soak up all the goodness that was like an authentic Italian dish that reminded us of one of our favorite places that no longer exists. It's a garlic buttery artichokey sauce that's amazing! Put our name on the list and waited an hour and fifteen but had some high noons from across the street while waiting. The food is akllways worth the wait. Had the snow crabs which came a little cold at the ends but the legs were actually full of juicy meat.

Fresh fish selections.

Best seafood on LBI. Jumbo lump crab cakes were not only with jumbo lumps but also jumbo sized cakes. Much larger and filler free than another well known Ship Bottom competitor! I ate apps only our second time there--tempted by the bacon wrapped scallops and crab stuffed artichoke hearts. With a side Caesar salad to top it off. Everything was generously sized and delicious! We will be back!

The BEST lobster bisque soup that I've ever been graced to have! Why do I only have pictures of the menu then? Because everything was gobbled up before the thought of pictures entered into my mind. No regrets here! My 2.5 year old absolutely destroyed his fish and chips platter, to mine and my husband's amazement. He "nom nom nom"ed the whole time, and we just kept giving each other a thumbs up, because dinner tonight was a total success! We started off with their fried calamari (crispy, fresh, and addicting) which came with a side of dipping red sauce that was delicious. Legs were also included which I do enjoy. The New England clam chowder was also another staple that shouldn't be skipped over. The subtle hint of dill was very refreshing, and added depth to this beloved soup. The lobster bisque soup, to me, stole the show, with the chunks of lobster that were generous and plentiful. Almost every other spoonful had lobster! Hubby and I each got their lump crab meat sandwiches, and MAN - these were insanely good! Worth every penny! For takeaway, everything was packaged with great care, and our order was waiting for us as soon as we walked in the door. Inside, the place was already JAMMED at 5PM! People were eating more than talking, and that was another good sign. We will have to get the dining in experience next time!

Food is worth the wait. No reservations. Get there at 5p so you don't wait! King crab legs are the best along with the garlic clams!

What a great concept!…read more Picked up a pot for dinner. Got the captain pierce low rider and there was plenty of food for two people. The pot was so easy to cook and the lady behind the counter walked through the instructions to make sure I understood how to do it. She even took a phone call an hour later when we had a question. The seafood tasted so fresh. The sausage, potatoes, and corn were great with the seasoning in the pot. Went with the half and half and it had enough spice to be the right amount of flavor. I wonder if I went with the full Cajun if the spice level might be too much. Definitely will be going back to pick up another pot when craving seafood.

Looked them up and noted lots of online options. I actually made a spreadsheet to simplify the choices. By vote, we ordered the Shark Bite which gave an ample variety of seafood. Counter service was somewhat helpful - do this, that - follow the directions. Once we started, did this and that - I admit - it was a lot of fun - steam came out of the top, added the cold food and we were on our way. We started grabbing the beautifully steamed goodies. The corn, potatoes, and little necks were very good. The scallops and crab legs were ok. Sadly, the lobster tails and shrimp were overdone - meat stuck to the shells. Maybe you need more than 2 steam times for 8 different foods. I would not get the bigger buckets again. Added a star for the fun factor.

There was one guy playing guitar music, not too loud, which made the atmosphere cozy. They have a great cocktail list if you want to try something new. The wedge salad was large and had a twist- it had a different type of dressing, crispy onion on top, and traditional blue cheese crumbles. The cheese steak comes with thick-cut fries, and the crab cake main had coleslaw on the side, which was crisp and served with a light dressing. Looking forward to dining again soon.

We weren't 100% sold because of some of the reviews, but still gave it a shot. We made a 6pm reservation online and were able to park in the lot adjacent to the restaurant. We were seated immediately and the hostess gave us a table by the front window. Nice, out of the way, allowed us to chat and people watch. We were initially shocked at how empty the place was for a 6pm reservation, but by the time we were done the place was packed. Out waitress came over and took our drink order (she never introduced herself, which always kind of annoys me). I ordered the Barrel -aged Manhattan (it came on the rocks though I ordered it up) and Wifey ordered The Maverick - gin, Aperol, lemon, Ginger, mint. For starters we had the Steamers special - in a white wine garlic butter sauce with grilled or charred shallots and Chargrilled oysters with spinach, panko, cheddar, and hot sauce. For our entrees Wifey had the NY strip with seasoned potatoes and I had the Crab cakes. Steak was excellent...the crab cakes were small for the price, but full of meat. Delicious Cole slaw. Appetizers were also great - my steamers were different than I've ever had because the flavor of the shallots really added a ton of flavor. Drink prices are ridiculous (they are everywhere on the island, but especially for the size of the Maverick. Food was great, service was ok (though our waitress wasn't very enthusiastic), you'll pay Island prices here, and place gets VERY loud so be aware.
