While I'd love to gatekeep this place, it's amazing and should be known. If you come here and get one thing - let it be the clams. Absolutely delicious, in a white wine sauce and served with garlic bread for maximum dipping. The place itself if super cute, all outdoors, when the sun is out it does get hot but they have umbrellas up. It's also a beautiful view of the dock. Service gets a little rocky but the food is really worth it. I've also tried their fried flounder and while it's good - nothing beats the clams. Beware of Polly's Pontoon Rentals We paid $600 in cash to rent a pontoon from Polly's, signed all the paperwork, and were given a quick 5-minute tutorial on how to operate the boat. During this time, a staff member repeatedly emphasized that the "brand new" propeller (or "utter," as they called it) was in perfect shape, and they even took a photo of it before we left. We were explicitly told not to go into shallow water because it could damage the prop -- which we absolutely followed. We had a fantastic day on the water, followed every rule, and even tipped the young man who helped us $80 at the end of the rental because we were so happy with the experience -- until everything changed. As we were wrapping up, someone came over to ask if everything went well. We said yes -- it had been great -- and suddenly, the tone shifted. We were told the prop was "banged up" and that we owed another $200. Total bait-and-switch. I was furious. This felt like a setup from the very beginning, especially considering how much emphasis they put on the prop at the start. To test our suspicion, we sent friends to rent from Polly's the very next day -- they were given the same exact boat, with the same "damaged" prop, and were hit with the exact same scam! Bottom line: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. It's run by a group of young kids pulling a con on unsuspecting tourists. There are plenty of honest boat rental options on the island -- do yourself a favor and go anywhere else! read more

We recently rented a pontoon boat from Polly's Dock and were extremely disappointed with how things turned out. While the rental experience itself seemed fine at first, we were later hit with a charge for damage we absolutely did not cause. Our group was careful, respectful, and returned the boat in the exact condition we received it. There was no inspection with us before or after the rental, and no issues were mentioned at the time of return. Then, out of nowhere, we were charged for damage that wasn't ours -- with no solid explanation or proof. We tried to dispute it, but the response from Polly's Dock was unhelpful and dismissive. It honestly feels like they're taking advantage of renters by blaming them for preexisting damage or issues that weren't documented properly. If you choose to rent here, be very cautious -- take plenty of photos before and after, and insist on a walk-through with a staff member. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back and can't recommend Polly's Dock based on how poorly this was handled. read more

Polly's is all about the atmosphere. Sitting on a rustic dock overlooking the sunset, live music, with a cold beer and bucket of clams...it doesn't get more LBI. Unfortunately, the food is just fine. Clams were very small but tasty. Mahi tacos had no seasoning whatsoever. Burger, meh. The service was youthful, friendly and efficient. But I have mixed feelings about the salty owner who is always at the helm. Polly's is certainly worth checking out but mostly for the chill vibe and view. To steal from another review, the star here is indeed the sunset. Tips. Be prepared to wait as this place and always a crowd. Also, bring some cash because they don't allow you to tip on your credit card. So a cash tip or you can send money to the server's personal Venmo. Never seen that before! read more

The atmosphere can't really get any better. The Sun setting on the dock with fresh seafood and a one man band playing the classic American favorites. We had some very saucy giant Buffalo wings to start. My daughter had a grilled cheese of which we probably stole most of her fries. Yum! For dinner we shared some lobster rolls, a salad and coconut shrimp. The place is BYOB except they sell a local vineyards wine, a nice little liquor license loophole. Love this place! It has the best waterfront seats for a Long Beach Island sunset dinner and I mean THE BEST!!! This place is a gem, the food and the view are amazing, better than any of the rooftop bars nearby. The restaurant is at the marina, you can dock your boat there while you dine. Bruce and I were lucky, we got the best high top seats right in front of the ocean and they were the best front row seats for the most captivating LBI sunset. The restaurant doesn't have a bartender but they do serve a great wine by the bottle or you can BYOB. We ordered a bottle of white wine, the Thai Chili Wings, and Clam Bake to share. Both dishes were one of the best I've ever had and the house picked pinot Grigio were the perfect pairing to this awesome meal. The atmosphere was relaxed with soft live music, awesome food, awesome wine, awesome service, beautiful view, great conversations, and a friendly crowd. So happy Bruce took me there, we had a really nice time. It was a perfect dinner spot for our little weekend getaway before the end of the summer read more

We stopped by for dinner on Monday night. The atmosphere is casual which is perfect when a bunch of kids. We got the clams in garlic and they were devoured. My only complaint is they could have given more then 2 pieces of bread so we all could dip in the sauce!! I ordered the sesame crusted tuna and it was awesome! It was seared perfectly and I have to say it was one of the best cooked and most fresh pieces of tuna I have had! We got the wings which my son said were pretty good but not his favorite and he got the cheese stake that he really enjoyed. We got the halibut sandwich, it was pretty good, but it had a little bit of a fishy taste to it and we didn't finish it. The ambiance reminds me of the "Barnacle" restaurant from the John Candy movie Summer Rental, and in a great way. incredible sunset views, watch the fishing boats come in and out, and the food is the freshest on island. Very aloof person at the front who smoked a cigarette and pretended I wasn't there. He instructed the hostess to not seat me and to specifically wait for a family who has just arrived to leave their vehicle and enter. He never made any eye contact or said anything directly to me even though I was standing right next to him. The food was average and portions were small for my teenage boys. Reading other reviews an trip advisor, some have had similar strange dismissive experiences. The man who smokes at the front certainly treats people very differently and is definitely sending a very specific message to who is welcomed and who isn't. Other than that the server was very nice. If I could give this place a zero I would. Arrived and asked how long a walk. Was told it would be 30 to 45 minutes. Left our name. About 40 minutes we were seated. Our waitress came over about 10 minutes after we were seated. We gave our order and received our drinks. Kept waiting for our order and it never showed. In about 30 minutes our mozzarella sticks arrived and as you can see there was no mozzarella in the center. (How does that happen unless you over fry them). Ordered soup and it never came. About 20 minutes later our waitress came over and asked if had received our order. We told her that nothing had come out except for the mozzarella sticks that had no cheese in the center. (See picture) There was another party that came in after us and they got their order before us. We complained to management but they didn't seem to care. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS OWNER ANY MORE BUSINESS. Please please please do not rent a boat from this owner! We had a reservation and went out along the route they suggested for about 15 minutes and the engine started sputtering, it was throttling on its own without us touching the controls. Very scary so we brought it back into dock and asked them to give us a working vessel. The entire episode took 45 minutes of us going very very slowly back into Harbor. It was only a two hour trip so when we returned at the end of our trip on the new boat, I explained that I would like to rebook with them for another date but maybe they could give us a discount since over a third of our trip was due to engine troubles from their boat. The young guys who work the dock are attentive and nice and offered to get the owner and here is where it gets odd and awful. The owner comes "at" me and shoulder checks me on the way to his office and then sticks just his hand out of the office and tells me to "get in my office". I'm a 50-year-old female, I said, "Excuse me? Are you talking to me that way? I was just asking you if I could have a discount because your boat didn't work and it took up a third of our time". He got in my face pointing his finger saying "how EXACTLY was I inconvenienced" over and over again yelling in front of a FULL restaurant. I said he could have a conversation with me instead of pointing and poking at me, at which point he laughed and said he could give a shit and I should get the f*ck out. I told him he could have approached this with kindness since he was in a customer service-based business but he just said that I caused the problems by letting a bunch of grass get in his blades, when we never left their proposed route, so that could not have happened. This guy was such an incredibly aggressive and condescending jerk. I don't understand how he is in business with this attitude. So much anger! Please do not give him any business. This place is located right on the bay. Good food and a very casual eating environment. Eating is outside only but has a great view of the bay and sunsets. Prices are much lower than other restaurants in the area. Plan for a wait to be seated as the place is popular but has limited seating. Bring along your own wine and beer it makes the wait not seem so long. Staff is young and inexperienced but are polite. Recommend this place for location, and price based on food quality. read more

We walked in at about 830 where 2 children who looked like they were waiting for their parents on a bench stood up and seated us. We waited 10, 20, 30 minutes before a waiter finally came over asking if we had been served yet. We hadn't even ordered drinks. In the time waiting we noticed workers eating while cooking and making salads with their barehands like a group of hippies.
