I went here for the first time the other day and had a wonderful dinner! It is BYOB, but they do sell half bottles and full bottles on their menu. Our waitress, Valentina, was so friendly and took the time to walk us through the menu and provide recommendations. For appetizers, we had their shaved romaine salad and the burrata with strawberries and tomatoes. Both of these appetizers were amazing! Their strawberries were so fresh and the shaved romaine was unique with basil pesto and a lemon aioli. For entrees we had their Pomodoro pasta and the cavatelli pasta. Both of these dishes were really good as well! The cavatelli was our favorite between the two, but the Pomodoro was really tasty as well! For dessert, we had a chocolate mouse with strawberries on top. The dessert was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back again soon! read more

Giving 2 stars because the server was very sweet so she deserves a star.. the ambiance is nice except the view into the kitchen i didnt find very appealing. but the food on the other hand, not good. We both ordered cacio e pepe, and we received glorified buttered noodles with pepper. I took like 2 bites and just pushed it to the side it tasted like something off the kids menu. It was not cacio e pepe. The burrata was good. Nothing special. I consider this extremely overpriced for the quality of the food. We definitely wont be returning. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Noisy dining room to start, and then we found DEAD BUGS in our pasta appetizer. We proceeded to tell our server about this and she took away our dish and said she would talk to the chef about comping our meal. She came back then to say that the chef would comp only our pasta and we would have to pay for the second appetizer we had already eaten before the pasta came out. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!! I literally could not continue with my meal because of how sick I felt. We were told that we could have the pasta comped and continue our meal, or leave. We of course decided to leave and will not be returning after paying $25 for our one appetizer and a gift card which we will not be using since we will not be back. read more

I'm shocked at how tasty the food here is. While fairly non-assuming, we came here mainly out of convenience/location on the island, but everything we tried was incredible. The real standout was the bone marrow pasta. SO umami. I think about this meal a lot and am shocked I haven't been able to find an Italian restaurant that rivals this in Manhattan... Ok for a high end place on the island. It was ok. I had the clams with angle hair. The pasta did not taste home made and that small of a pasta I get why. Obsessed with this place! First went with another couple that recommended Azzurri. Loved everything I ate the first time - calamari, crispy rice, and the gnocchi. Came back three weeks later because it was so good! I appreciate the fact that they give you bread to start. That's a rarity on LBI and at most establishments these days. My boyfriend and I both chose the golden chicken cutlet as our entree this go around because it is SO good. The Coppa Rocher for dessert is literally heaven and a glorified ferrero rocher! There are only a handful of restaurants that I would recommend on LBI - many are subpar with insane prices and will get business from renters regardless - but I will continue to recommend and frequent Azzurri! 1st time visit it was Sunday Sauce and the food on the menu was fantastic. From the tomato carpaccio to the fresh pasta and the main course sword fish Milanese, which was a different take on preparing, was amazing. Breading on outside and cooked perfectly inside. The Oso Bucco over the risotto was also very good. Effortlessly came right off the bone. Dessert was a nice touch to end of dinner. Great service and friendly staff. Very poor dining experience. We were a party of 4. Of the three appetizers we selected, only one, Crispy calamari was excellent. Of the 4 entrees ordered, only one was outstanding. Two entrees were acceptable. The cavatelli with broccoli and sausage was terrible. The sauce was very thick with no noticeable pieces of sausage or broccoli. I can't begin to express how disappointed and upset I am. We walked in and were overlooked for the party behind us who was able to check in first. Initially I figured it was an oversight since they had just opened for the night. Our table of 4 was sat in the covered patio section. A young girl came over to fill our waters and give us a wine bucket with ice. She stated someone would be with us shortly. We found it bizarre she did not open the wine, but again, thought it was an oversight since it was a bottle of Prosecco and maybe she didn't know how to do that? What started out as patiently waiting while EVERY table around us got told the specials and their order taken turned into about 40 minutes of not one soul coming to our table. We watched the same girl open other bottles of wine and every staff member walk past our table with not one person checking in or questioning why no one was coming over. Once I got up to say we were leaving, a waitress, who was there the whole time started to come to our table. The cringe face she made with to the hostess was infuriating as they both saw our party seated the whole 40 minutes. We got a half hearted apology from the hostess, who quite frankly didn't seem too bothered by the issue, especially given she said she was also a manager. I could excuse some of this behavior if it was prime time summer season, however this was 5:15 in March. We will eat the gift card that was purchased from here, as we will never be back nor recommend this establishment to anyone else. read more

First time there. Had the Cavitelli which was a bit spicy but delicious. My wife had the Bone Marrow Ragu which when presented, looked like oysters, but she dove in & throughly enjoyed it. Sat at the counter which was essentially like a chef's table right in the kitchen as you watch the orchestration of the chef and sous chefs as they cook and meticulously plate each dish, in many instances delicately placing a single leaf, a sprig or a berry with a tweezer on the culinary work of art. The short ribs were melt-in- your mouth tender, no knife needed! Beef tenderloin was tender and tasty. The truffle arincini was tasty, just the right amount of truffle. I was excited to try Azzurri after hearing of its arrival on the island. I was not dissapointed as it was a wonderful dinner experience. If you're going to dine here, it is byob so come prepared. The service was attentive, yet not overbearing and held up even when the resturant got more crowded. The resturant itself is very simplistic yet classy with cool tones, dim lighting, and minimal decor. My favorite part of Azzurri's layout is the view of the kitchen. The kitchen is walled with glass so you can see the chefs at work. The menu has a sufficient amount of options that include some unique dishes such as the Squid Ink Paccheri. We were brough out bread and butter and it was exactly what you should expect from a quality resturant. Freshly baked warm bread, flavorful homemade herb butter, and flaky salt. To start, we got the Burrata, which was some of the best we've ever had, along with the standout fig compote. We also got the Charred Ocotpus which was perfectly grilled and included an appropriate portion of two tentacles. The Squid Ink Paccheri entrée was exceptional. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked and the bone marrow raggu was complemented well with the balsamic reduction. The Faroe Island Salmon was also very good, although it originally came out undercooked. The Carbonara was rich and flavorful. Our server Filomena provided warmth and hospitality the minute we stepped in the door. If you're going to dine here, the top things to get on the menu are the Crispy Octopus, the Crispy Rice and the Arancini for appetizers; the Squid Ink and Cacio e Pepe for pastas, and the Chicken Milanese for the entrees. From the moment we walked in to the very end this restaurant was perfection. Our server Philomena, was very personable and helpful with recommendations. I wish I was able to take more pictures of the beautiful presentation of the food but we were so excited to try the Wild Mushroom Arancini which was my favorite appetizer and a must try. The Burrata appetizer was so fresh with the hint of watermelon and peach. Just delicious. The fresh Squid Ink Tagliatelle was portioned perfectly and cooked al dente. For my entree the "summer" Chicken Milanese was a twist on a classic. They saved the best for last with the Coppa Rocher. The layered dessert was to die for. Why is 5 stars the top rating. We were a table of 4 and each one of us said without hesitating, we are coming back. We shared a stuffed mushroom appetizer along with a burrata salad as a starter. This review in no way reflects the great service we received from the wait staff while we were dining - only the food. Unfortunately I was served severely undercooked pork twice. It was dark and transparent in the middle. The chef recommended medium, but what I received was extremely rare in the middle. Waitress was sympathetic and apologetic but we did not receive any sort of compensation from the kitchen. I was nauseous and felt sick the next day. Overall the food just felt trendy and pretentious without the proper training and technique to follow. read more

Our family gathered at Azzuri on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024 to celebrate a birthday. The food was spectacularly displayed, and scrumptious to the taste. We ordered several appetizers, pastas and entrees. This allowed us to sample many of their dishes. I would highly recommend the wild mushroom arancini, the squid ink tagliatelle pasta, and the pork entree. Service by Philomena and Alexandra was exceptional. We were not rushed and able to enjoy each other's company as we ate. BYOB is a plus! read more
