Their food is too overpriced, just to taste so mediocre. My order consists of two slices of cheese pizza, cheese fries, and root beer-- my total came down to $23?! The bottom of the pizza was burnt and the top of the pizza wasn't cheesy at all. In addition, they don't have any self serve seasonings like pepper, parmesan, chili flakes in the store to enhance the taste like other pizza spots do. The employee wasn't the friendliest either. I think the pizza place is now called the Pizza Shack but all the same the Grandma Pizza was outstanding. Cooked to perfection and crispy. We also got the huge Greek salad with lots of fresh veggies. Ordered 4 pizzas to go on a Monday evening. Everything was piping hot at pickup. We all enjoyed the pizza- especially the great crust. My only criticism would be that the margherita pizza has too much cheese & not enough basil. Definitely recommend! read more

Ok we are guilty. While we are residents of Harvey Cedars. we were charmed by the lore of high end pizzerias and thus tried several other local establishments prior to landing on this gem (aka Rays Sunset Pizza). Its not about the money its about the quality of the ingredients. after disappointment from said high end pizzerias, we ended up at this humble gem. My spouse has a medical issue that requires us to not have red sauce on pizza. By trial and error we have learned that white pies are boring in most pizzerias. They are mostly an after thought. We called up Rays Sunset Pizza on an uneventful night and ordered a custom pie that we never thought they would accommodate because no else would. How surprised were we that they completely accommodated us. OMG. best pie of our life. Their ingredients are fresh, well balanced, and they are so accommodating. seriously, this is the best pie we ever had (we are not giving away the ingredients as it belongs to Rays). We can not say enough about this place and we are used to authentic NYC pizza for 30 years. You haven't fully experienced the north end of the island until have ordered from this high quality take out restaurant. read more

Service was good. only one guy was working. The food was entirely overpriced!!! save your money and get frozen pizza, tastes exactly the same. Pizza slice is completely disproportionate. Pepperoni was clearly put on after baking, it fell off when we picked it up. Dont bother going here. I would rate it .5 if i could. read more

Very good spot for both pizza and soft serve. Banana whip is a unique frozen banana-based treat as well. Considering the overall poor pizza options on the north half of Long Beach Island it was especially great to find this place- good thin chewy crust pizza and NYC- sized slices. Friendly owner. Awesome pizza. The Extra large is enormous and the salad could feed 6 easy. Pepperoni Stromboli had the perfect blend of cheese and meat and the crust was crispy. I will definitely be back and am worried I will miss it when I go home after summer. One final note is that the two guys that work there are so nice. I hope they are the owners and if not they should be commended for the great customer service. read more

The pizza is pretty good. Not Jersey's best, but pretty good for what you can get on this part of the island. Don't order the fries though. They were super bland (they didnt even salt them) and were barely crispy. Definitely not worth the price ($8). To top it off, they had no ketchup either. How are you gonna sell fries but not have any ketchup to go with? They tasted like cardboard. Overall, pizza was pretty good (huuuuggggee slice) but fries were trash. read more

Our experience here started off badly when the lady could not hear us on the phone and was rather rude. Once we arrived to pick up our food it only got worse. They were very confused abut what they had available and how much it cost. We got two of the same salads and they charged us different prices for each. Charged extra for olives they didn't even give us and messed up the toppings. And they tasted terrible - very bland. A bunch of lettuce and tomatoes for a whopping $15 - ridiculous. The pizza was mediocre at best. Sauce was too sweet, the cheese was gross, and crust was bland. The staff was incompetent and the food sucks. Don't go here. read more

My family has been coming to LBI for well over a decade, and up until finding this gem a couple of years ago, quality pizza was lacking. The slices are huge and delicious, although ordering a pie for pick-up did not offer the size, but included the taste. The calzone was also a big hit with us, but besides that, we have not sampled anything else. read more

I have always been coming here for ice cream and pizza, and have never been disappointed. The ice cream selection and flavored ice selection will please anyone searching for a sweet treat. The cheese slice boasts a massive size, and that traditional New York style crust. Today I had an amazing experience at "Steve's place" (Steve is the owner and chef). I indulged in a delicious grandma's style slice that was topped off with a delicious sweet tomato sauce and garnished with fresh basil. That was only the appetizer. The main course consisted of an Italian sub on a perfectly toasted sub roll. The meats, cheese and especially the tomatoes were particularly fresh and flavorful. I learned that sandwiches and subs were new to the menu, and I highly recommend looking no further if craving a sandwich of any kind! read more

It was extremely unfortunate that I stopped in for ice cream at this parlor. First and foremost, the place was being ran by 3 young teens and a manager who was making pizza. Not even paying attention to how terrible their service was. I ordered a mint soft serve with chocolate sprinkles. When I received it, not only did it have a total of 10 sprinkles on it, but it was melting after 25 seconds of being in my hand. I had to pay $4.95 for a melted ice cream. Absolutely ridiculous. I then ordered a coffee soft serve in which the same thing happened. No credit cards, only cash. Now charge me an extra $3.50 for transaction fee at the atm and add that to my melted Ice cream. Businesses who don't take credit cards are cheap and don't want to pay the 3% to the credit card machine. Aren't you embarrassed?! If you like ice cream soup, this is your place. Never again. Nothing short of genius, the combination of a phenomenal crust and flavorful toppings make for an unbelievable pizza experience. We were told we had to visit this place, and the last thing in the world I wanted to do on a busy summer weekend was to drive 15 minutes through a ton of traffic and thru a number of resort towns to another resort town. However, the trip was well worth it. As a connoisseur of fine pizza, there was no way in the world I thought I would find the kind of pizza that I would enjoy immensely, but then also rate so highly on yelp. Yet here I am, and it was phenomenal. And if that weren't enough, the proprietor showed me his list of ice creams, and I proceeded to try a number of different homemade ice cream flavors which I have never seen before. Flavors like cinnamon bun and others topped the list. Highly recommend this place to anyone anywhere close to Long Beach Island! As a lifetime resident of LBI, I can say with every bit of confidence that it is clearly the best pizza place, and ice cream place on the entire Island. Most places on Long Beach Island do not take any pride in their pizza, the cheese slides right off the pizza and clearly has too much oil in its preparation.
